Organization Profile Who we are?
Organizational Profile History (Who we are) IBBM is an incorporated association under the PNG Associations Incorporation Act as an Association of Members It is a Not- For- Profit organization. It is a Registered School under the PNG Education Act, a listed place of tertiary education under Section 9B of the PNG Income Tax Act Regulations. It is a Registered Training Provider (Certificate # NTC 001) under the PNG National Training Council Act. It is ISO 9001 certified in Quality Systems. Commencing as Bankers College in 1965, to provide structured training programs for PNG banking professionals, the Institute of Banking and Business became an incorporated body under the Associations Incorporation Act in 1974. In 1998, to encompass the broad range of training and development courses introduced to enhance professional knowledge and skills in all aspects of administration, business and management, it adopted its present constitution and name. In 2008 it adopted the business name IBBM Corporate Training. IBBM is the longest established private sector training organization in PNG and is recognized as the Nation s most prestigious provider of pragmatic, cost- effective training in administrative, finance, banking, commerce, supervisory and management skills since 1965. The Institute is committed to enhancing the knowledge and skills of the people of Papua New Guinea towards improving personal performance, work and career opportunities, organizational productivity, and the achievement of National development goals. Accordingly we continually strive to maintain the finest quality of client service. It is a leader in provision of capacity building programs to both the PNG workforce through Corporate Training and PNG Small and Medium Enterprises through the PNG LNG Enterprise Centre. These two important capacity building programs come under IBBM Corporate Training Division and the IBBM Enterprise Centre respectively.

IBBM Enterprise Centre The IBBM Enterprise Centre was established in March 2010 for the PNG LNG Project to provide CAPACITY BUILDING to PNG SMEs. 1. Business Assessment services: The Enterprise Center has in place a business assessment method and team to evaluate PNG companies in terms of business structure, operations, systems and processes to achieve the objective of identifying skills gaps and provide relevant capacity building programs. Evaluations are conducted on the demand of the PNG LNG Project by Business Development Specialists as per a pre- defined process, across key elements of business management. Result: 3 STAR rating is given to assessed businesses. 2. Business advisory and consulting services: The business advisory and consulting services cover identified deficiencies in the areas of administration, business operations, accounting, Human Resource (HRM), personnel and access to finance. The objective is to ensure that those PNG companies identified and selected to work with the PNG LNG Project must perform sustainable businesses above a minimum standard. 4. Business mentoring services: The Enterprise Center provides assessed PNG companies with mentoring services on company site. The mentoring services cover identified deficiencies in the areas of administration, business operations, accounting, HRM and personnel. 5. Project Information centre: The Enterprise Center provides to PNG Companies facilities to enhance communication about the, fully equipped Meeting Rooms available to facilitate communication between PNG selected companies and PNG LNG Contractors or Sub- contractors Information Center dedicated to the communication on PNG LNG Project and business opportunities Internet, phones and printing and copy room The objective is to establish and enhance communication between PNG LNG Project stakeholders. 6.PNG Employment and Supplier Database: The IBBM Enterprise Centre hosts PNG s largest, online and validated database of PNG companies in the country.
