roos field + stadium Eastern Washington University // Cheney, Washington In 2012, BLRB was engaged by the Eastern Washington University Foundation for master planning and the design for the renovation and expansion of a 10,000-seat football stadium that will create an iconic campus entry and provide needed mixed use space that will support both students and the community. The stadium will host home games for EWU s 2011 NCAA Division I champion football team and also features synthetic turf multipurpose fields and track amenities. Perhaps the most unique element of this project is its integration of student support elements including the campus bookstore, Hall of Fame, student support center and general use classrooms alongside streetfront commercial and retail space designed to attract local shops, businesses and restaurants to the area.
stadium + public plaza Pacific Lutheran University // Tacoma, Washington Since 2009, BLRB has been working on the planning and conceptual design for a new football stadium and gathering plaza at Pacific Lutheran University. Design elements for this $20M project (estimate) include a 6,000-seat football stadium with support amenities including locker rooms; team rooms, athletic department offices; private suites; press box; ticketing and concessions; restrooms and equipment storage. This project is currently in the capital campaign phase. We have also recently completed a $1.7M multipurpose athletic field for the University, and master planning for development of PLU s south campus area.
stadium + athletic complex Mt. Tahoma High School // Tacoma, Washington STADIUM Total covered seating capacity 3,190 seats. Home grandstand 2,050 seats; boys / home team locker room, concessions, public restrooms, storage, press box, coach s box, broadcast booth Visitors grandstand 1,140 seats; girls /visitors locker room, concessions, public restrooms, storage. SYNTHETIC FOOTBALL/ SOCCER FIELD Synthetic turf football field; flat, drain-through system with underground collection drainage system, irrigation system to cool field down before athletic events and all appropriate striping for football field. Coaches area, soccer, other events, goal posts, and appropriate cones for athletic events. 400-METER TRACK 8-lane (400m) metric all-weather rubberized track. Long jump, and pole vault pit areas outside of synthetic field/track area to maximize size of soccer field; (2) long jump runs end to end; (1) pole vault run with pads each end. Javelin area; (1) discus pad with fixed cage. (2) shot put areas High-jump area in oval end zone of synthetic field. Conduit for PA/sound system, coaches phones at field, and electronic timing at start and finish points, and conduit for stadium scoreboard. Track and field equipment storage in stadium complex. OTHER AMENITIES Competition gymnasium with 1,800-spectator seating Aquatic center with 250-seat spectator gallery Weight & fitness room Competition baseball and softball fields Tennis courts & outdoor basketball courts
stadium + field Walla Walla High School // Walla Walla, Washington BLRB is working with Washington s Walla Walla School District on the planning and design of a new athletic field and stadium for Walla Walla High School. Scope includes site master planning; relocation of softball fields and tennis courts; new 9-lane synthetic track; new synthetic turf football and soccer field; new field event facilities including long jump, pole vault, shot put, discus, javelin, and high jump; removal of one tennis court; security and safety fencing around the facility; repair of existing grass infield; underground conduit to accommodate field and stadium lighting and scoreboard requirements; and multi-purpose scoreboard.
