Signal word Meaning Consequences if disregarded DANGER! Imminent hazard Severe or fatal injuries WARNING! Possible dangerous situation Severe or fatal injuries CAUTION! Possible dangerous situation Minor injuries NOTICE Possible damage to property Damage to the drive system or its environment INFORMATION Useful information or tip: Simplifies handling of the drive system. 1.1.2 Design of the section-related safety notes Section-related safety notes do not apply to a specific action, but to several actions pertaining to one subject. The symbols used either indicate a general hazard or a specific hazard. This is the formal structure of a safety note for a specific section: SIGNAL WORD! Type and source of danger. Possible consequence(s) if disregarded. Measure(s) to prevent the danger. 1.1.3 Design of the embedded safety notes Embedded safety notes are directly integrated into the instructions just before the description of the dangerous action. This is the formal structure of an embedded safety note: SIGNAL WORD! Type and source of hazard. Possible consequence(s) if disregarded. Measure(s) to prevent the hazard. 4

Startup Important notes on startup I 3 3 Startup 3.1 Important notes on startup INFORMATION You must comply with the general safety notes in chapter "Safety Notes" during startup. WARNING Risk of crushing due to missing or defective protective covers. Severe or fatal injuries. Install the protective covers of the plant according to the instructions, also see the operating instructions of the gear unit. Never start up the MOVIMOT drive if the protective covers are not installed. WARNING Electric shock caused by dangerous voltages in the connection box. Dangerous voltages may still be present for up to one minute after disconnection from the power supply. Severe or fatal injuries. De-energize the MOVIMOT drive using a suitable cut-off device before removing the MOVIMOT inverter. Secure the drive against unintended re-connection to the voltage supply. Wait for at least 1 minute before removing the MOVIMOT inverter. WARNING Danger of burns due to hot surfaces of the MOVIMOT drive (especially the heat sink) or external options. Severe injuries. Do not touch the MOVIMOT drive and external options until they have cooled down sufficiently. WARNING Unit malfunction due to incorrect unit setting. Severe or fatal injuries. Observe the startup instructions. The installation must only be carried out by qualified personnel. Only use settings that are consistent with the function. INFORMATION To ensure fault-free operation, do not disconnect or connect power or signal cables during operation. INFORMATION Remove paint protection cap from the status LED before startup. Remove paint protection film from the nameplates before startup. Observe a minimum switch-off time of 2 seconds for the line contactor K11. 13

3 I Startup Starting up the MOVIMOT drive with AS-Interface 3.3 Starting up the MOVIMOT drive with AS-Interface WARNING Electric shock caused by dangerous voltages in the connection box. Severe or fatal injuries. De-energize the drive using a suitable cut-off device before removing the MOVIMOT inverter. Wait for at least 1 minute before removing the MOVIMOT inverter. INFORMATION The MOVIMOT MM..D inverter with AS-Interface option MLK3A is functionally compatible with the MOVIMOT MM..C...-3 inverter. The AS-Interface profile, the I/O configuration and the ID code of the inverters are identical. 1. Remove the MOVIMOT inverter from the connection box. 2. Make sure that no Drive Ident Module for DR motor types is plugged into the MOVIMOT inverter. [1] [1] Slot for Drive Ident Module 3. Set all switches and DIP switches of the new inverter according to the settings specified in chapter "Control element settings". 4. Set the AS-Interface address as specified in the following chapters. 5. Place the MOVIMOT inverter onto the connection box and screw it on. 6. Switch on the following voltages. AS-Interface voltage DC 24 V auxiliary voltage (only for 24 V supply via the black AUX-PWR cable) Supply voltage 2373519 18

Startup Starting up the MOVIMOT drive with AS-Interface I 3 3.3.1 Assigning the slave address MOVIMOT drives with MLK3.A AS-Interface option are set to address by default. You have the following options for assigning the AS-Interface address of the MOVIMOT inverter with MLK3.A AS-Interface option (address 1-31): Addresses are assigned automatically within a configured AS-Interface system when replacing a MOVIMOT drive with MLK3.A AS-Interface option. The following prerequisites must be fulfilled: The new MOVIMOT drive with AS-Interface option MLK3.A must have the address. If you need to replace several MOVIMOT drives with AS-Interface option MLK3.A, you must replace them individually (one after the other). Manual address assignment via the plant master The drives must be connected to the AS-Interface cable one after another. Doing so prevents several MOVIMOT drives with AS-Interface option MLK3.A from having assigned the same address. Manual address assignment using a hand-held AS-Interface programming device. Observe the notes in the next chapter when connecting the MOVIMOT drives with AS-Interface option MLK3.A to the AS-Interface cable. Assigning the slave address using a hand-held programming device Hand-held AS-Interface programming units offer the following functions: Reading out and changing an AS-Interface slave address Reading out the AS-Interface profile Reading out and changing the data and parameter bits Function check and test run. Hand-held programming devices do not provide sufficient current for the operation. This is why an external voltage supply (AUX-PWR) is required for the function check and the test run. When using a hand-held programming device, you need a 2-core connection cable that fits onto the AS-interface plug connector of MOVIMOT (see the following figure). 1: AS-Interface + 4 3 2: V24 [1] 1 2 3: AS-Interface - 4: 24V [1] [1] Do not connect pin 2 and 4 for the address assignment! NOTICE! The hand-held programming device can be damaged if not connected properly. The hand-held programming device may only be connected via pins 1 "AS-Interface +" and 3 "AS-Interface -" with the AS-Interface plug connector. Prior to the address assignment via a hand-held programming device, switch S5 in the MOVIMOT terminal box must be set to "1"! After the address assignment you have to set the S5 according to the kind of 24 V voltage supply. 19

3 I Startup Starting up the MOVIMOT drive with AS-Interface Example: Disconnect the AS-Interface nodes from the AS-Interface network one at a time and assign addresses via the hand-held programming device (A). Then reconnect the respective AS-Interface node to the AS-Interface network (B).
