1. Lawson Portal FAQ s 1. What is Lawson Employee Self Service? Employee Self Service is a web-based, Lawson application that allows users to access personal information such as paychecks, direct deposit statements, leave balances, etc. 2. Can I log into Employee Self Service from home? Lawson Employee Self Service can only be accessed from computers connected to the Loyola network; computers outside the firewall will not be able to access Employee Self Service. 3. What internet browser can I use to access Employee Self Service? Currently, Lawson only supports Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 and up. 4. How do I know what version of Internet Explorer I currently have? To check the version of IE: a. Open an IE browser window. b. Click Help c. Click About Internet Explorer. A new window will open: If the version is not 6.0 or higher, you will have to download a later version of IE. *Note The default version of IE loaded onto LUC PC s is version 11.x.xxxx. Page 1
5. How do I download a later version of Internet Explorer? To download a later version of IE, visit Microsoft s Download Center: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/browse.aspx?displaylang=en&categoryid=6 Click on the version of IE you wish to download. Follow the on-screen instructions. 6. How do I access Employee Self Service? Lawson Employee Self Service is accessed through the Lawson Portal, which is the main source of information for all Lawson applications, including Employee Self Service. There are a couple ways to access Lawson Portal: 1. Open IE and go to: https://lawson.luc.edu 2. Start Menu Button > All Programs > Loyola Software > Administrative Applications > Lawson Portal *TIP Add the Portal homepage as a desktop shortcut. To do this: First you will have to add the Portal homepage as an Internet Favorite. a. Open IE and go to: https://lawson.luc.edu b. Click on Favorites and select Add to Favorites. c. Enter new name for link (optional). d. Select the folder in which you would like the link to be saved. e. Click Add. Page 2
The Lawson Portal link is now saved as an Internet Favorite. You will now have to create the desktop shortcut. To do this: a. Click Favorites. b. Click on the folder where you saved the Lawson Portal Link. c. Right mouse click on the link you created. d. Click Send To. e. Select Desktop (create shortcut). Page 3
The Lawson Portal link is now saved onto your PC s desktop. Double-clicking on this icon will open Internet Explorer to the Portal Homepage. 7. Can I print information such as paystubs and time accrual balances? Yes. There are a couple ways to print: a. Some Employee Self Service screens have a print button available. Simply clicking this button will print the page you are viewing. b. If a print button is not available, you can right mouse click anywhere on the screen and select print. c. You can also use the browser s print function by clicking File > Print. d. Capture a screen-print using the Print Screen key on your keyboard. If you do not have this software installed, you can download it here: http://www.luc.edu/finance/documents/setup.exe *Important - To optimize the print output, make the change to the default print settings outlined on the following page.* Page 4
1. Open IE. 2. Click Tools > Internet Options. 3. Click on the Advanced tab. 4. Scroll down Printing. 5. Check Print background colors and images. 6. Click OK. 8. How do I log out of Employee Self Service/Portal? To logout, simply click the logout button located at the upper right-hand side of the screen. *Note you do not need to be on the Portal homepage to logout.* 9. Will closing the browser log me out of Portal? No! If you wish to log out completely, you must click the logout button. Simply closing the browser window will not log you out. Page 5
2. Login Page The web address for Lawson Portal is: https://lawson.luc.edu jexampl 1. Enter your network id and password. 2. Press Enter or click. Page 6
3. Portal Home Page This is the Portal Home page. You will see the Employee Self Service link on the left-hand side of the page in a shortcuts list. Click Employee Self Service to expand. You will have options for Benefits, Pay, and Personal Information. Employee Self Service Main Menu *Note Clicking Parent Menu will bring you back to the main menu shown above.* Page 7
4. Benefits To view Benefit information, click on Benefits to expand. You will have access to (A) view, add, edit, or delete a Beneficiary, and (B) view Current Benefits. (A) Beneficiary 1. Click Beneficiary. 2. Scroll down to view all information. You will have the option to print this screen by clicking the Print button. Page 8
To edit or delete a beneficiary, click on the beneficiary s name. Scroll down to view all available options. Page 9
(B) Current Benefits 1. To view your current benefits, click Current Benefits. 2. To print this screen, right mouse click anywhere on the screen and click Print. You can also use the browser s print function by clicking on File > Print. Page 10
5. Pay To view Pay information, click on Pay to expand. You will have access to (A) Pay Checks, (B) Payment Modeling, and (C) Year to Date. (A) Pay Checks The Pay Checks provides you with a list of all pay checks/direct deposit statements. You can view summary and/or detail. 1. Click Pay Checks. Scroll down to view all available information. 2. To view the details of a specific payment (payment number, deductions, taxable wages, etc), click on the date of a payment you wish to view. Page 11
3. Scroll down to view all available information. 4. To print a full pay-stub, click on Printable Pay Stub. 5. The Pay stub will open in a separate window. Page 12
6. To print, Select File > Print. Page 13
(B) Payment Modeling Payment modeling allows you to simulate changes to your wages, exemptions, marital status, taxes, deductions, etc to calculate the effects on your pay. 1. Click Payment Modeling. 2. Scroll down to view all available information. Page 14
3. After making changes, click Calculate. Your updated wage information will load on the right-hand side of the screen in the Results box. 4. Clicking Get Current Data will load your current wage information. Page 15
(C) Year to Date Year to Date provides you with a snapshot of the current year s or prior year s year-to-date information such as gross, net, taxes, deductions, etc. 1. Click on Year to Date. 2. Select a year. The year-to-date details will load on the right-hand side of the screen. 3. Scroll down to view all available information. 4. To print year-to-date totals: Right mouse click in the Year-to-Date screen, click Select All, click Copy, and paste into Microsoft Excel. From Excel, select File > Print. 5. To view payment details for a specific payment, click Payment Details. The payment list will open in the current window. Page 16

6. Personal Information The Personal Information option provides you with (A) Dependent information as well as (B) Leave Balances (time accrual balances). Click on Personal Information to expand. (A) Dependents The Dependents option allows you to view/edit current dependent(s) information, as well as add a new dependent. 1. Click Dependents. 2. To add a dependent, click on the Add button. 3. Enter the dependent s information, and click Update. 4. To edit a dependent s information, click on the dependents name. 5. Make necessary changes and click Update. Page 19
(B) Leave Balances The Leave Balances option provides you with your current time accrual balances. To view, click on Leave Balances. Page 20
