1 HOW TO USE THE File Transfer Protocol SERVER ftp.architekturaibiznes.com.pl In order to access the A&B server with a view to uploading or downloading materials, any FTP client software can be used. If you don t have such software, the following is a brief description of how to install and use the freeware program called Staff-FTP. DOWNLOADING AND INSTALLATION 1. Download the executable file from our server by clicking the following link or copying it directly into your web browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox etc.) command line: (The most recent release of the software can also be downloaded from the programmers website: 2. Save it on your hard disk at a location of your choice. 3. Once you ve downloaded the program file (sftp_setup.exe) to your disk, run it by clicking it twice and conduct the standard installation process following these steps: a. click "Next >"

2 b. confirm the licence terms and conditions by marking the radio-button at "I accept the agreement" and click "Next >" c. select the location where the software is to be installed or accept the default location and click "Next >" d. confirm your intention to create the destination folder by clicking "Yes" (or its equivalent in your local language version of Microsoft Windows)

3 e. type in the name displayed for the software in the shortcuts menu (Start menu) or accept the default name and click "Next >" f. mark selection boxes of your choice next to the option creating shortcuts to the software on the desktop and/or Quick Launch and click "Next >" g. check the installation summary dialogue window to make sure you have selected all the right options and click "Next >", which will start the transfer of installation files to your disk

4 h. Once the software has been installed, the final dialogue window will be displayed. If you wish to start the program right away, leave the "Launch Staff-FTP" option marked and click "Finish". LAUNCHING AND USING Staff-FTP 1. When launched, the firewall installed on your computer (if active) will request permission for Staff-FTP to access the Internet. Authorise web access by hitting "Allow", "Yes" or similar command or its equivalent in your language. 2. The following dialogue window will be displayed:

5 The contents of Disk C:\ on your computer will be displayed on the left hand s side. The window on the right will display the contents of the FTP server. Both windows use the drag and drop mechanism, so you can transfer (i.e. copy) folders and files between them. Clicking any of these windows with the right mouse button will open the context menu, which will enable you, for example, to create a new folder ("Make Directory" command), or use shortcut keys. To create a new folder, use the "F7" function key. 3. To access the A&B (or any other) ftp server, enter these three primary particulars: a. name of ftp server (e.g. ftp.architekturaibiznes.com.pl) in the Host field b. user name in the Login field c. user password in the Password field Leave 21 in the Port field and hit ">>" (Connect to site). This will trigger an attempt to access the FTP server. If the software is unable to establish a connection, check if the particulars in the Host and Login fields are correct and retype the password (which is displayed as asterisks rather than alphanumeric characters, for security). If you still have problems accessing the server, check your firewall settings, as they may be preventing the software from accessing the Internet (you can also switch the firewall off for the time of accessing the server, but we do not recommend this method, for security reasons). 4. Once you ve accessed the server, you may create a new folder in the right-hand window, e.g. for your company, and then use the drag and drop method to upload your materials to our server. Depending on the size of the files and the transfer capacity of your network connection, the process may take anywhere from a few seconds to several hours. Once the transfer has been completed, check if all the materials you intended to upload to our server are now in the destination folder (in the right-hand window). You can terminate the connection by clicking the "X" icon (Disconnect from site) which is next to the connection icon ">>" or simply close the program.

6 FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) Q. I can t install the program... A1. To install this software, you need to have an administrator status in the Microsoft Windows system on your computer. For the time of installation, you need to switch to the Administrator account or another one with equivalent authority. A2. Download the executable program file again from our website or from the programmers website A3. Check firewall and antivirus settings, or switch them off for the time of installation (not recommended). Q. I don t know where to find the installed program... A1. Depending on the option selected during installation, the launch icon may be located on the desktop or on the quick-launch strip next to the Start menu. A2. The launch shortcut is in the Start menu: Start>Programs>Staff-FTP>Staff-FTP A3. The launch file is located in the destination folder selected during installation (default: C:\Program Files\Staff-FTP\stfp.exe). The program may be launched directly from this location or you can enter the following string C:\Program Files\Staff-FTP\stfp.exe in the "Run" ( Execute ) window in the Start menu and confirm by hitting "Ok". Q. I don t know how to switch to the location of my materials to be uploaded when I m in the program window. These materials are on Drive E:/ while the program window displays Drive C:/ A1. Above the left-hand window, which displays the contents of your disk, you will find the system disk selection strip. Selected the required disk from the drop down menu and in the window below go to the location of the files that you wish to upload to our server. Q. I can t access the A&B server. The right-hand window remains empty... A1. Enter the received particulars in the Host, Login and Password fields again, making sure that all the characters are correct (the fields are case-sensitive, so you may want to enter some of them with "Caps Lock" on). A2. Check your system firewall settings to make sure they enable Staff-FTP to access the Internet. Allow for the program s full access to the web or just incoming and outgoing connections on the ports used (20 and 21). As a last resort, you may try to switch the firewall off for the time of the upload (not recommended). Q. I don t know how to create the destination folder in the right-hand window (i.e. on the FTP server)... A1. Move the cursor to the right-hand window (the status strip below the window will change its colour to orange) and hit F7 on your keyboard or right-click it in the right-hand window and then select Make Directory from the menu, enter the name of the folder (directory) and confirm it by hitting "OK". Q. I don t know how to copy materials to the server... A1. In the left-hand window (representing your disk) mark the selected files and/or folders (directories) and drag them to the right-hand window, to your folder which you have created there before.
