BARC Business Intelligence Congress 2014 Frankfurt, 18 19 November 2014 After more than 12 successful years, our BARC conference Business Intelligence: Software in Comparison has reached the next level: In addition to software presentations, we have integrated best practices, case studies, analyst keynotes and a provider track into the event, making it the leading congress for BI users in Germany. This two-day conference combines hands-on information from an expert network of bestpractice users, vendors and analysts. Due to ample break times and an exciting venue, it also provides an ideal backdrop for exchanging experiences and networking. With new and improved sponsoring packages, presentations and a wide marketing concept, we are offering you the opportunity to present your company s offerings to a broad, specialized audience and, thereby, increase your visibility in the BI market. On the following pages, you will learn more about our various cooperation packages and options. We would be happy to consult you in selecting the right level of visibility for your company at this event. We look forward to working with you! Best regards, Dr. Carsten Bange Managing Director Klaus Holzhauser Partner Managing Director PAC Germany

Concept BARC BI Congress will be held on 18 and 19 November 2014 in Frankfurt, Germany. The goal is to host a congress that sheds new light on the topic of BI from a user standpoint. Similar to TDWI, we want to provide an environment so that prospective and current users in Germany, Austria and Switzerland can exchange experiences and learn more about BI. While the TDWI Congress with BARC track primarily focuses on data management, the BI Congress will have stronger focus on business-related themes. Attendees will learn more about the latest developments in BI software and BI services. In software demos, case studies, usage scenarios and analyst keynotes, they can delve into all topics LIVE in three parallel tracks per day. In the accompanying exhibition area, visitors can also meet one on one with fellow users, leading software vendors, services providers, market analysts and other BI specialists. This setup is designed so that users can get answers to all of their questions regarding BI. Seminars prior to and following the event round out the agenda. Highlights: Organization of an attractive stage program in coordination with the participating software vendors and service providers Keynotes and presentations on topics such as self-service BI, information design, data governance, BI organization, benefits of and expenditure on BI, big data, planning tools and performance management, by leading international BI visionaries such as Dr. Carsten Bange of BARC BI case studies of renowned German companies Attractive evening program featuring the Best Practice Award BI 2014 ceremony in the categories SMB and Large enterprise PAC Service Provider Track @ BI Congress The PAC Service Provider Track on 19 November is dedicated to BI-related services, such as consulting and systems integration. Next to the market trends in BI services as well as customer requirements, visitors will learn about the services that are offered and whether these services actually meet the customers needs. In addition, visitors will receive guidelines for provider selection and evaluation. To support this selection process, PAC will introduce its BI Services RADAR created in cooperation with BARC. Another topic will be BI consultants daily rates. The analyst presentations will be accompanied by practical use cases: Customers and/or BI services providers will demonstrate concrete projects.

BI services provider use cases The focus of the provider presentations shall be on the business value of executed projects. If possible, the customer should actively join their provider s presentation. If only the provider presents the case, they should be entitled to specify the respective customer s name and project details. Requirements for the presentation contents: Short description of project & objectives Business value for the line of business/ enterprise Approach in implementation: implementation model/ procedure (Waterfall, Scrum, Kanban etc.), reasons for the respective choice of implementation model, experiences in actual implementation Achievement of objectives with regard to project requirements, timeline and budget How did the knowledge transfer from the service provider to the customer take place? Involvement of IT department, lines of business, and, if applicable, of a BI competence center (BICC) Success factors for the respective project Obstacles and how they were overcome Lessons learned Target group exhibitors Vendors and service providers of all sizes in the fields of Business Intelligence, planning, analysis, reporting and consolidation may participate as exhibitors at the BARC BI Congress. The objective is to provide the broadest possible overview of the various solutions and companies on the market. Target group attendees BARC BI Congress is targeted to individuals who are interested in leading more about Business Intelligence. In particular, we are trying to address an audience of business users who work with information systems that support decision-making. In addition to BI and other decision-makers, this target group includes BI project team members in financial controlling, sales, marketing, production, logistics and purchasing.

In the past, our prime targets were people involved in the software selection process. In addition to showing software in comparison, this new event focus is designed to give participants information on current trends as well as ample time for networking. These tracks will be enhanced with comprehensive analyst tracks and a day with user presentations leading up to the Best Practice Award as well as for the first time with service provider use cases. The exhibitor is bound to the registration and therefore conditions and reservations may not be added. The application must contain a detailed description and a concept of the stand. 3. Approval / Contract The contract between the Organizer and the exhibitor becomes effective with the written notification of the Organizer about the eligibility of the exhibitor. If application contents and approval contents differ, the contract will be binding in accordance with the approval unless the exhibitor verbally notifies the Organizer immediately and in addition in writing within two weeks upon receipt of the approval notice. The same applies if the event needs to be rescheduled and / or moved to a different location; in which case the Organizer s approval is replaced with the corresponding change statement of the Organizer. The validity of the admission applies only for the respective event and the registered company. 4. Allocation of Stand Space Based on the participant s reported stand sizes, the Organizer allocates the space for the stand. There is no entitlement of stand space in a given exhibition area. In addition, the Organizer will not be responsible for the Quality of a stand space (Notability of the stand and it s perception to the visitors). The stall size varies depending on the selected package. It should be considered that hall pillars and other fixed installation could be present in the rented stand area. In some cases and for essential reasons, the Organizer reserves the right to deviate from the approved floor space, to change the dimensions and size of the space, to relocate or close entrances and exits, to make building modifications in the exhibition rooms, without the exhibitor being able to derive any rights. However in the event of a reduction of stand size the exhibitor will receive a refund of the difference in the participation fee. Exhibitor s objections regarding the stand space must be made promptly and in writing during the duration of the event. Subsequent objections cannot be considered. The exhibition stands are to be erected and dismantled within the given deadlines. Throughout the duration of the exhibition the stands must exhibit goods and be attended by personnel. The Organizer may arrange the removal of exhibits if they cause a considerable disturbance to the operation of the conference or are a safety hazard to visitors or exhibitors through odor, noise, emissions or appearance. It is the exhibitor s responsibility to compensate for damages caused by exhibits and therefore releases the Organizer from third party claims. Damages must be reported immediately to the conference managements (Organizer and conference ground). Any exhibits still located on the stands after the removal deadline may be removed and stored at the expense of the Exhibitor. 5. Cancellation In the case of cancellation within twelve weeks before the start of the conference, the exhibitor will be refunded 50% of the stand rental. If cancellation is received within eight weeks before the start of the conference, the exhibitor will be refunded 25% of the stand rental. In all other cases, the stand rental is to be paid in full. Exhibitors who do not occupy their rented stand are nevertheless obliged to bring it into a moderate exhibition condition. Otherwise the Organizer has the right to decorate the stand at the exhibitor s expense. The latter may appoint a replacement exhibitor; however, this exhibitor can be rejected by the Organizer without stating a reason. In any case, a cancellation has to be made in writing and sent by registered mail. 6. Participation Fees and other Costs / Terms of Payment The rental price for the occupied space depends on the selected sponsor option and possible auxiliary services. The registration documents list all prices in detail. Upon registration and approval the exhibitor will receive an invoice for the participation fee and other costs. The invoice must be paid in full to the Organizer no later than two weeks after invoice date. In the case of non-payment within this period, the Organizer has the right to terminate the contract with the exhibitor with immediate effect. Exhibitor objections are excluded unless objections are made promptly and in writing within two weeks after invoicing. 7. Conference Conduct/Product Presentations/Advertising The exhibitor undertakes to respect the following rules: Written consent of the Organizer is required for the use of devices and facilities intended to achieve an increased advertising effect by optical or acoustic means (microphones, speakers, slides, films or video presentations). Headphones must be used for acoustic presentations on the stand. A volume of 80 db must not be exceeded under any circumstances. Presentations on the stand, for example live performances, etc. require an arrangement in principle with the Organizer. Speakers must be directed towards the interior of the stand. The distribution of promotional materials outside the exhibitor s rented stand area is prohibited. Advertising that violates the law or good morals as well as those of ideological or political nature and promotional materials contrary to the conference purpose are not permitted anywhere within exhibition grounds. The Organizer determines whether advertising materials are to be critiqued on the basis of these criteria under the exclusion of law. The Organizer is entitled to prohibit any form of advertising and the distribution of advertising materials if such materials give cause for complaint and to confiscate such material for the duration of the exhibition. 8. Insurance / Liability / Limitation of Liability The Organizer recommends that the exhibitor arranges personal exhibition insurance. The Organizer accepts no responsibility for goods brought to the exhibition, stand materials and objects which are the property of the people working on the stand. The exhibitor is strongly encouraged to provide for the supervision of his stand and exhibits and to cover for any damage with appropriate insurance. Valuable, easily removable items must be locked up at night time. For additional Stand surveillance and at his own expense, the exhibitor must use the Organizer s security company. Damage or loss is not part of the Organizer s liability. This does not affect the liability due to willful or grossly negligent misconduct. This liability is not affected by restrictions with any security measures of the Organizer. The exhibitor cannot derive any rights or claims for damages against the Organizer if the Organizer is compelled by force majeure or other unforeseeable reasons to vacate the exhibition area or part thereof, temporarily or permanently, in order to postpone, shorten or extend the event. The exhibitor is obliged to compensate the Organizer for any damage inflicted by the exhibitor, exhibitor personnel, and employees of stand contractors appointed by the exhibitor or other third parties that are working for the exhibitor in the exhibition area.

9. Associate Exhibitors, additional represented enterprises, groups and community Without prior agreement of the Organizer the exhibitor is prohibited to move, exchange or share the rented stand or to make the stand available in whole or in part to third parties. If several companies participate together on a stand at the event, then these terms and conditions apply and are binding to each company. In the event of an authorized use of a shared stand, all participating exhibitors shall be liable to the Organizer for the payment of participation fees and other costs and fulfillment of other obligations. 10. Cleaning The Organizer is responsible for the general cleaning of the conference and exhibition areas as well as the entrances to the halls. The exhibitor is responsible for the cleaning of the stand. Cleaning must be completed daily before opening of the event. When assigning a cleaning contract the exhibitor is to use the Organizer s cleaning company. 11. Photographs The Organizer has the right to make photographs, drawings and films of events taking place, the exhibition buildings, stands and exhibition material and to use such for advertising and press releases, without the exhibitor deriving any claims. This also applies to recordings made by the press or television with direct consent of the Organizer. 12. Commercial Legal Protection and Copyright Protection of copyright or other patent rights of exhibits is the responsibility of the exhibitor. 13. House Right The Organizer exercises the house right within the entire event area. This does not affect the house right of the owner. The Organizer has the right to have exhibits removed if their displays contradict applicable law, morals or the event program. Advertisements and exhibits, which serve a political and ideological purpose, are prohibited. The Organizer is entitled to close or to vacate the exhibitor s stand on serious violations of these rules of participation. 14. Statute of Limitations All claims arising out of or in connection with this Agreement shall expire within twelve months. The statute of limitations begins at the end of the month into which the final day of the event falls. 15. Jurisdiction /Applicable Law/ Severability Clause Jurisdiction for all disputes arising under the contract is Würzburg, Germany. The Organizer has the right to make his claims at the courts to which the exhibitor has his seat or establishment. The German substantive law and the German language text of these terms and conditions shall govern all legal relationships between exhibitor and Organizer. Should one or more provisions of this Agreement in whole or in part not be legally valid, the validity of the remaining provisions shall not be affected. Invalid statements will be replaced with statements of similar contents and which will as close as possible reflect the implied definition of the intended provision. Any such revision will apply retrospectively.
