Welcome to the HBA learning Centres Info board. Assessment Process SELF PACED AND BLENDED DELIVERY Complete a full attempt of all activities in the workbook 1 before you send it in. One of the most common problems we find is when people send in assessments small parts - it makes it very difficult for the assessor to form a good understanding of your competence when there are things missing or incomplete. It tends to make the assessment process drag out longer than it needs to and can be frustrating for you too. Once you have completed all the activities in workbook 1 you will be notified by email and you will be asked to start workbook 2.Once you have completed all the activities in workbook 2 you will be notified by email that you have been awarded your TAE40110. The most important thing is to carefully read all of the requirements of workbook 1 and workbook 2 and complete each and every one.
Workbooks MUST be returned (emailed) in their original format (MS Docx) to assess@hbalearningcentres.com.au.do not change your workbooks in to a PDF format as this makes it impossible to add comments within the PDF workbook INTENSIVE FULL DELIVERY Assessment is conducted during the course Blended Delivery BLENDED DELIVEREY Attending a blended delivery workshop will help you find it easier to read the learner guides as many of the words and concepts will be explained to you during the workshop.the blended delivery is invaluable for delivering the underpinning knowledge that will assist you completing the workbooks in your own time. A blended delivery consists of a 2 day face-to-face workshop and then 12 months to complete your workbook activities. Blended dates are available throughout Australia and are posted on our website. Can I Upgrade? You can upgrade from self-paced or blended to intensive full delivery at any time. Class Presentations You are required to complete a total of 3 presentations/training sessions to a group of learners SELF PACED As part of the activities in workbook 1 you will need to develop a session plan and video record a 15 minute presentation. You must also complete 2 further presentations as part of the activity requirements of workbook2. There is no need to video these presentations however, you must get your learners who sat in on your presentations to complete the evaluation forms and sign-on sheets (included in workbook 2). BLENDED DELIVERY As part of the activities in workbook 1 you will need to conduct a 15 minute presentation. This is done during the blended workshop. You must also complete 2 further presentations as part of the activity requirements of workbook2. There is no need to video these presentations however, you must get your learners who sat in on your presentations to complete the evaluation forms and sign-on sheets (included in workbook 2). INTENSIVE FULL DELIVERY All presentations and associated documents are completed during the full delivery. Computer Requirements To get the most out of your studies you will need a modern computer. A late model laptop is the most ideal. Your computer/laptop must have: Internet connectivity MS Word 2007 or later MS Powerpoint 2007 or later Adobe Acrobat reader If you are using a Mac you should have MS Office and Acrobat for Mac installed If you are attending one of our classes you may want to consider also brining a mouse with your laptop. You will also need internet connectivity at night to complete some homework tasks Laptops are available for hire from HBA for classroom use during the full delivery. Laptops are supplied with the required software applicable to the course. If you like to use an external mouse this must be supplied by yourself. You will also need to ensure that you have access to wireless internet connectivity after hours to complete homework activities.
Computer Skills Having basic computer skills is essential, not only for your studies, but also for your role as a trainer/assessor. As a trainer/assessor you'll often be required to write reports, email your students and also build the occasional powerpoint slide show or learner resource. These activities are also explored during your studies to gain your TAE40110 qualification. As a result, you will need to know the basics of MS Word (cut, copy, paste, save, find) and be able to make a basic presentation using MS Powerpoint. You will also need to have basic knowledge of how to access the internet and how to do a Google search. HERE'S THE TIP! There are 1000s of mini video clips on Youtube that cover all of the above. They range from 'novice' to 'experienced' level. Here's a few to get you started: MS Word - CUT, COPY, PASTE CLICK HERE CLICK HERE CLICK HERE SEARCHING GOOGLE CLICK HERE MS POWERPOINT SLIDESHOW MAKER CLICK HERE Entry Requirements Prerequisite requirements There are no prerequisite requirements for individual units of competency. This means that you do not need to hold a qualification to study the TAE40110 Home Work The homework component of the intensive full delivery is compulsory and allows us to deliver the TAE40110 in a time-frame that suits people who want to complete their face-toface studies within a normal working week. More importantly, the home work allows for a
self-study and reflection component of study that is hard to achieve within the intensive daytime classroom environment. We have found that it helps our learners reflect on the daytime activities and build on their newly acquired knowledge. Intensive Full Delivery Face-to-face is the preferred option for most of our clients. It is a no-fuss, engaging and time-efficient way to gain your qualification as a trainer and assessor. If you complete the pre-course workbook and the five day intensive face-to-face class you can expect to finish your class with your TAE40110. A commitment of 2 hours homework each night for four nights is a core component of the intensive 5 day delivery. Remember, if you need any extra time after the full face-to-face delivery to finalise any of the activities you still have up to 12 months to complete. Learner Forum HBA will provide you with a username and password to access this part of our website (Currently not applicable to Frontline Management). Our Online Help Forum (AKA Discussion Forum) is where you can source resources and discuss your course with your trainer, assessor and other learners. You can link directly to the help forum on the left hand menu. Our preferred method to help you is via the Forums because in most cases, your question has already been asked by someone, and our trainers have provided a useful and helpful answer. Learner Guide THE LEARNER GUIDE IS THE BACKBONE OF YOUR STUDIES We know that many people approach this course from the perspective of I want to dive in and start completing the workbooks so I can get my qualification ASAP! or My employer is pressuring me to get the qualification yesterday! or I m applying for a job and need this qualification tomorrow! and sometimes I m going to pace myself, manage my time and studies and achieve the qualification in a realistic timeframe. Whichever of these thoughts are going through your mind, there are some things you need to know before starting the assessment tasks in the workbooks. We have more experience in this than you can imagine and our first piece of advice to you is to read your first learner guide from start to finish; reinforcing your underpinning knowledge, and then you apply that to the skills you develop when you complete the tasks in the workbook. If you are selfpaced (or were slow in getting started after the course) take the time to read and consider each section. Tip: read wider. While the learner guides and resources we give you are good sources of information, it is important for your own learning to be able to research in other places (one of the best places being the internet, try www.google.com). Trainers and assessors must have the ability to research information.

Possible Job Roles Job roles associated with this qualification relate to the delivery of training and assessment of competence within the VET sector. Possible job titles and roles relevant to this qualification include: enterprise trainer enterprise assessor registered training organisation (RTO) trainer RTO assessor training adviser or training needs analyst vocational education teacher. Pre Course Workbook It is important to complete the pre course section of your workbook prior to attending your intensive full delivery class.this will give you the basic understanding of the VET environment which will help you hit the ground running when you start your intensive delivery. How long does it take to complete? Everyone learns at a different pace so there is no definitive answer to this question. Someone with experience in the VET industry or with an understanding of the Australian Skills Quality Authority could complete the pre-course section in under a few hours. Others, with no VET experience could take a lot longer to complete.if you have a good computer, internet access and basic computer skills you could expect to complete the workbook in a day.
What if I don't know an answer? The tip is to access the Learner Forum on our website and read previous postings. Alternatively, you should give the question your best and ask your trainer for help or clarification when you arrive at class. RPL (Recognition) RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING If you feel you have a claim for Recognition you can visit our RPL page on our website and download a self-assessment kit. Please note: There is an initial assessment fee of $200 required to be lodged with HBA prior to an RPL application being considered. If your RPL claim is successful, the $200 assessment fee will deducted from your course fees including the proportion of RPL awarded, which means if you get full RPL, the $200 will be deducted form the entire RPL price.if your RPL claim is not successful, the $200 is not refundable and will be considered as assessment fees for the RPL delivery process, or may be deducted from the course fees should you undertake the course through normal delivery. In many cases the RPL process can be exhausting, frustrating and downright stressful for both the applicants and the RTOs. To get the best out of RPL, both the RTO and the applicant need to be working towards the same goal: Read the RPL kit that you have downloaded and complete it in full Make sure that you include evidence that covers EVERY part of the RPL kit that you are seeking recognition for. Your evidence MUST BE referenced back to every portion of the Unit of Competence that you are seeking recognition for. TAE Workbooks SELF-PACED DELIVERY There are 2 workbooks which you must complete to earn your TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. Once you have successfully completed both workbooks (and other activities as outlined in the workbooks), you will have achieved your Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
