INTRODUCTION The Clark M7 Workforce Survey is a valuable tool to gain an understanding of the trends in today s workplace. E mployers have come to rely on this information as part of their annual budgeting preparation, annual appraisals & salary reviews & restructuring or introduction of company benefits. The survey results are based on a sample of 1450 companies across all business sectors and just under 5000 employees and candidates covering the geographical corridor along the M7 motorway. Information was also determined from the many roles filled by Clark with our Clients & from the candidate s currently registered with Clark. Some interesting findings in this year s survey include: o 70% of companies surveyed reported higher profits this year as opposed to 57% in 2013 o Over 51% of companies surveyed this year will be increasing staffing levels in 2015 as opposed to 32% in 2014 o Salaries continued to grow with 39% of companies reporting increases in salaries compared to 33% last year. o Gender balance: Ratio of Male to Female employees has risen significantly with companies participating in our Survey employing more males than females in 2014. KEY FINDINGS EMPLOYERS THE GOOD NEWS o In the last 12 months salary levels have increased in 39% of those companies surveyed 58% remain unchanged o Employment Increasing In the next 12 months 51% of companies surveyed report that they hope to increase staff levels. o Staff Training: 83% of companies have provided Training to their staff over the past 12 months & 81% are planning to provide further training in the next 12 months. o Over 64% of Companies surveyed provide a Performance Management Program for their staff. o Government Job Initiatives 33% of companies report using either the Job Bridge scheme or the Job Plus Scheme. o 34% of Companies surveyed now conduct Skills Assessments as part of their Hiring Process. o 71% of companies who responded, report a variety of flexible working conditions, including:- Working from Home- 63%, Working Remotely-63% and Flexitime-42% KEY FINDINGS EMPLOYERS TRENDS OBSERVED o People are on the move again with 19% of companies experiencing turnover of between 11-20% as opposed to 4% last year. o The biggest challenges to business proved to be Market & Economic Conditions (50%) Cashflow (41%) Hiring & Retaining the right staff (37%) & Competition (37%). o 30% of companies use Psychometric Profiling as part of their recruitment process and selection o Executive Coaching continues to grow with 35% of companies now using it as part of their Management Development process.

B) Educational Assistance has risen from 56% last year, to 61%. C) Institute Subscriptions have risen from 35% last year, to 39%. D) Also increasing is the option of Flexible Working Hours, rising from 36% of companies last year, to 39%. Benefits which have reduced since our last survey include: A) Childcare benefits fell from a low of 2%, to not being an option in the companies surveyed in 2013 or 2014. B) 42% of companies now provide Above Statutory Holiday Entitlements compared to 52% in 2013 & 57% in 2012. C) Parking provided fell from 92% of companies last year to 72% this year.

O Over 25% of those employees surveyed reported an increase in salary in the past year (33% in previous year), 59% reported salaries remain unchanged (52% previous year), with only 15% reporting a decrease in salary in both years salary surveys. O 36% of employees surveyed have a formal salary review each year. This is a decrease of 18% from our previous survey. EDUCATION & TRAINING O 76% of candidates surveyed have a 3 rd level qualification, compared to 80% in 2013 and 68% in our 2012 survey. O 20% of candidates are currently studying, compared to 19% last year. O 37% intend on furthering their studies in the coming year, compared to 34% in our previous survey. O 40% of those candidates surveyed reported receiving some help with coaching or career guidance in their workplace compared to 33% last year. O 48% of candidates reported they would like to receive help in Skills Assessment for work & 48% reported a requirement for CV preparation in advance of attending interviews.
