Principal place of work: Reporting to: Purpose of the Post: G Live, Guildford Hospitality Manager at G Live The management and operational service delivery of G Live s bars and retail functions. This includes the day to day management of all front of house bars, the Café Bar and other retail outlets and concessions. The post holder will oversee the delivery of a consistent, efficient, high quality catering and retail service for the broad range of G Live s shows and events. He/she will drive the commercial profitability of the venue s retail and catering outlets to exceed financial targets including managing costs and profit margins. Direct reports: Hospitality, bars and casual staff Key Responsibilities To directly assist the Hospitality Manager in the achievement of G Live s annual business plan, marketing targets and objectives, with particular reference to achievement of targets for sales. Operations Management 1. Manage and oversee the bars and the Café Bar staff with a hands-on approach to all aspects of operational responsibility, undertaking floor duties as and when required. 2. Ensure all retail and hospitality outlets deliver excellent service standards on a consistent basis. 3. Act as point of contact for large functions and events in liaison with the Hospitality Sales & Events Manager, attending relevant meetings as necessary. 4. Prioritise work load effectively, dividing time between floor and office-based operations to best meet the demands of the business. 5. Act as a duty manager as required. Staff Management 1. Ensure effective recruitment and induction processes are followed and maintained through the hospitality team. 2. Ensure all staff are aware of service standards and receive adequate training to enable them to deliver an excellent service at all times. 3. Responsible for ensuring adequate staffing levels are maintained in all areas of responsibility. Achieve this within set financial constraints. 4. Ensure effective communication across departments.
5. Undertake team meetings as deemed appropriate to ensure the above key objectives are delivered. Finance Management 1. As directed by the Hospitality Manager, ensure adequate stock controls are in place and that stock results and supporting data are reported as required. The post holder will need to be aware of all company requirements for month end procedures and understand the profit and loss reports 2. Ensure labour-to-sales percentage is achieved within budget. 3. Ensure hospitality teams work towards increasing sales and maximising profitability. 4. Adopt a proactive approach to maintenance and repair of equipment, liaising with the Technical and Buildings Manager where appropriate. 5. Ensure HQH cash and security policies and financial procedures are adhered to. 6. Ensure HQH administration procedures relating to payroll are adhered to and relevant data delivered in an accurate and timely manner. Guest Service Standards 1. Set and ensure adherence to guest service standards through awareness, training and standardised operating procedures in all relevant hospitality departments. 2. Work with the Hospitality Manager and Marketing and Corporate Development Manager to identify and deliver effective methods of customer consultation. Through feedback received implement, deliver and monitor appropriate changes. 3. Adopt a positive approach to problem solving, supporting the aim to minimise negative feedback. Other Duties and Responsibilities 1. Working alongside senior hospitality managers and as a key member of the management team, ensure business objectives are achieved through effective joint working. 2. Where operational responsibilities cross into other venue departments, ensure effective communication and support clear procedures. Create and sustain positive cross-departmental working relationships. 3. Support the Hospitality Manager in delivering the annual Operations Plan. 4. Ensure all operations, including outdoor events adhere to relevant legislation and licensing conditions including, but not limited to Health and Safety Regulations, Risk Assessments, Public Entertainment Licence and the Disability Discrimination Act. Nominated Health and Safety representative for HQ Hospitality. 5. Where appropriate undertake responsibilities as a key holder of the building, ensuring smooth and safe daily operations and security procedures are maintained.

PERSON SPECIFICATION Essential Relevant management experience in a hospitality environment Relevant event management experience Experience of working with profit and loss accounts Experience of staff management including appraisals, training and development Intermediate IT skills in Excel and Word Intermediate Food Hygiene qualification Formal health and safety training to an intermediate standard, i.e Safety at Work. Proven track record in financial performance Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to respond positively to a pressurised environment and adopt a positive approach to problem solving.
