Security Depend on Us for Security Cathay Bank is committed to making sure that your Online Banking experience is safe and secure. With our security infrastructure in place, you can be confident that access to your account is private and reliable. Our systems are secured with encryption, perimeter and internal firewalls, screen and filtering routers, intrusion detection, strict authentication, virus protection, as well as application security. Application security includes user lockouts due to failed logons and additional encryption of sensitive user data during session. To further safeguard your information, Cathay Business Online Banking requires the use of a one time security code via a telephone call or SMS message (Short Message Service/text message) to sign on from a new device, approve, or transmit certain financial transactions. Our network architecture is structured so the servers that store actual account information are not directly connected to the Internet. Confidentiality Security is strengthened by your efforts in keeping all account and log in data confidential. Never share your password with anyone and never include specific details using unsecured email. Passwords The most secure passwords are those which use a combination of both letters and numbers. Avoid using easily obtained personal data within your password, such as initials, birth dates, or relatives names. Signing Off If you must step away from your workstation for even a moment while using Cathay Business Online Banking, be sure to sign off from or lock your session to ensure account data is not reviewed or altered by unauthorized individuals. www.cathaybank.com 2
