Yu can check this by installing and running Wireshark (http://www.wireshark.rg) and cnfirming the presence f RTP packets. Yu must als ensure that any required Cmputer Telephny Interface (CTI) cmpnents have been installed and cnfigured befre installing the CallRex Call Recrding Service. CTI cmpnents are PBX-specific: Fr ShreTel integratins, ShreTel TAPI is required. The CallRex Call Recrding Service needs t be able t accept cnnectins n prts: 8005, 8006, 943, 4533, and 4531. Make sure that yur CallRex system can reach prt 80 n the server updates.telrex.cm. If yu try t access updates.telrex.cm frm a web brwser n the cmputer hsting the CallRex Data service, and yu see a Directry listing denied message, yu shuld be able t license the sftware. Cmmn reasns that licensing des nt wrk are: Yu have an HTTP prxy that requires a passwrd r user accunt t access the public internet. Make nte f the User s endpint IP address fr use in step 7. CRIG-42-4-0112 5

2. Ensure that yur prt mirrr is plugged int the crrect Ethernet adapter n the switch. 3. Use the CallRex CrCnfig.exe utility t ensure that the Call Recrding service is cnfigured t use the Ethernet adapter. 4. If it is nt already installed, dwnlad and install Wireshark (http://www.wireshark.rg). 5. Run Wireshark and click Capture > Interfaces. 6. In the Capture Interfaces dialg bx, click Optins fr the netwrk interface receiving data frm the prt mirrr. 7. In the Capture Optins dialg bx, type hst fllwed by a space and then the IP address f the phne that is nt recrding int the Capture Filter bx. Fr example: "hst 192.168.1.120" 8. Click Start. 9. Make a test call using a phne that is nt recrding. 10. Click Capture > Stp. 11. In the upper pane f the Wireshark main windw, lk fr RTP (audi) packets. If necessary, yu can enter rtp in the Filter bx t make this task easier (smetimes Wireshark mis-labels the packets). If yu see RTP packets, prt mirrring is wrking. Prceed t step 12. If yu cannt see any RTP packets: a. Enter udp in the Filter bx. b. Select a listed packet (it may be mis-labeled). c. In the middle pane, select User Datagram Prtcl. d. Lk at the bttm pane. If the hexadecimal byte value immediately after the highlighted byte is 80, the packet is actually an RTP packet. If the packet is RTP, in the tp pane, right-click the selected packet, select Decde As, then select RTP frm the list. If the packet is nt RTP, try anther. If n RTP packets are listed, there is a prblem with the prt mirrr. Checking the prt mirrr is beynd the scpe f this dcument. 12. If RTP packets are present, cnfirm the cdec they are using: a. Upgrade Prblems Smetimes yu cannt uninstall the ld CallRex 3.7/3.9 services because they d nt shw up in the list f applicatins t uninstall. T slve this prblem, lg int the windws accunt that riginally installed the CallRex services (ften the administratr accunt n the lcal machine) and then uninstall the sftware. 6 CRIG-42-4-0112
