Implements, maintains and manages clinical applications systems related to quality and performance improvement. Defines data dictionaries, assigning user securities and passwords, coordinating internal training, and performing statistical and/or financial analysis reports on

Responsible for planning and oversight of processes related to quality applications; including training users, maintaining system integrity, implementing and maintaining modules, reporting and customizing user support. Creates reports and otherwise provides database statistics and information as requested. In addition to 5 years of clinical experience in a health care setting, preferably in Nursing or Quality Improvement, requirements include: 1. Technical understanding of the design and management of system interfaces, including the understanding of how to troubleshoot results, and make recommendation for design changes while partnering with key subject matter experts. 2. Strong analytical and interpretive abilities to analyze data in order to support clinical analysis and performance improvement initiatives, evaluate and interpret user requirements, and make recommendations for improvements or changes in system design and use. 3. Ability to perform varied mathematical computations and to see relationships between data and to draw valid conclusions. Technical understanding of various computer software packages, such as spreadsheets, word processing, statistical analysis, database management, work flow and graphics program. 4. Project management skills including the ability to define program, project, or process objectives, identify stakeholders and their interest, plan steps, coordinate and allocate human, technological and fiscal resources to accomplish goals and objectives in a resourceful yet timely manner. Oversee the linkage between external technology systems (e.g. government, vendors and other health care organizations) and the organization s IT resources; including systems for electronic data exchange. Qualifications Requires a bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or a related field or equivalent experience; A Master s degree in Health/Hospital Administration, Public Health, or Business Administration, or related field is highly desirable. Minimum of 5 years of experience with increasing responsibilities for management and support of healthcare information systems and information technology, direct management of a major IT operation is preferred. Significant experience in a health care setting is desirable, specifically in technology and information systems planning to support business goals. Experience should

7 also include exposure to both shared and outsourced solutions, as well as support of inhouse information and communication systems in a multi-site client-server environment. Specific experience with practice management, financial management and clinical management information systems is a plus.
