3 How to enrol Look through this guide to see what courses we offer. For more detailed course information call our Information Team on Tel: +44 (0) or visit us at the Old Mill Lane campus. An appointment can be arranged with a course tutor if you need more specialist advice or information. Once you have decided on a course, contact the Information Team to arrange your enrolment. What do I need to bring with me to enrol? Payment or letter from your sponsor/employer. Proof of any benefits you claim e.g. award notice or official letter and National Insurance Number. Your most recent pay slip if you earn less than 20,000 (gross) to be eligible for the 50% discount (selected courses only). Your bank details if you want to pay by instalments for fees over 150. You may be eligible for free or reduced course fees if you are: Aged 19 to 23 and looking to study on your first Level 2 or 3 course. Aged 16 to 18 and taking a course that leads to a nationally recognised qualification. In receipt of Jobseeker s Allowance (JSA) or Employment and Support Allowance (ESA).* Unemployed, not receiving JSA or ESA, but enrolling on a course which will aid your search for employment. If you re planning to study at Level 3 or Level 4 and you re starting a course on or after 1 August you may qualify for a 24+ Advanced Learning Loan. The lower two floors hold all the resources - i.e. books, journals, newspapers, e-book readers, laptops, computers and study spaces. Additional study spaces and computers can be found on the upper two floors. We also have a library situated at our UCB campus on Church Street. Learning Curve Assistants are available to help with study support on a one-to-one appointment or drop in basis. Additional Learning Support Our Additional Learning Support Team can provide you with a detailed assessment to determine the support you may need and recommend a support package. This may include a support worker or member of staff to provide mentoring and/or support, equipment and assistive technology. 8 Are you aged 16-24? Are you looking for an Apprenticeship or a job but finding it hard due to lack of qualifications or work experience? Why not apply for a Traineeship? On your Traineeship, you will: Undertake a work placement in your chosen area, giving you real work experience; Develop your employability and functional skills, which will help you to find a job; Gain qualifications in maths or English, helping you to compete in the jobs market; Learn how to apply for jobs and Apprenticeships; and Prepare for an interview. Once you have completed the Traineeship, we will help you to find an Apprenticeship or a job. Level 1 Certificate in Health, Social Care and Children and Young People s Settings This qualification will provide you with an introduction to Health, Social Care and Children s Settings which care for and support young people. In addition to functional Maths and English, you will have the opportunity to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to progress on to a Level 2 course in Health and Social Care. Has it been a while since you were at school? Do you find paperwork a chore? If the answer to any of these is YES, brushing up on your literacy and numeracy skills may help.
