INTEL PHONE HANDS FREE TELEPHONE SYSTEM IN CASE OF EMERGENCY INTEL PHONE is an electronic device than can call 4 pre stored numbers, in cases of emergency, and it is necessary in the installation of elevator. INTEL PHONE is designed to fulfill the requirements of European standard EN for emergency systems in elevators. The device is autonomous and it is power supplied only from the telephone line (it does not need batteries or any other kind of power) COMPATIBILITY WITH STANDARD EN : Automatic telephone connection with the press of a button through the cabin. EN /7 Ability of commanding other external devices. EN Function without batteries or any other kind of power. EN Optical information for the condition of the device inside the cabin. EN Rejection of unjustified alarm. EN Forwarding the identity of the device with DTMF tones through the telephone line. EN Ability of rejecting-terminating the communication. EN Ability of self-test for proper operation EN BRIEF OPERATION DESCRIPTION Automatic communication with the press of a button. Automatic call function through control command. External call acceptance. Identification of busy or no answer and automatic call of the next number. Volume adjustment of the speaker. Input for the filter from any electronic device (for example control panel) Special outputs for the pictograms. Automatic adjustment on an ISDN center. Forwarding the identity of the device with DTMF tones. Programming from a distance through telephone call. Self-test of the device.
Special relay output for any electronic device (NO,NC terminals) CONNECTIONS EXPLANATIONS LINE terminal: We connect the telephone line. BUTTON terminal: It is used for the function of the device and we connect the button Emergency Bell. SPEED trimmer: We adjust the priority between earphone and microphone. CONTROL terminal: Input command from any electronic device (control panel) to start the dialing procedure. 'INPUT' terminal: Filter input from any electronic device. Picto1,2 terminal: Output connections for pictographs(when it is necessary). - + terminal: Power supply of pictographs, self-test circuit and relay contacts NC C NO. NC C NO terminal: Relay contacts. They are used for giving commands to any electronic device. OPERATION DESCRIPTION AUTOMATIC COMMUNICATION WITH THE PRESS OF A BUTTON FROM THE CAR. This is the main function of INTEL PHONE. If we press the appropriate key on the operation panel of the car (usually identified as Emergency Bell ), dialing automatically starts with the first of the four numbers which are stored in the INTEL PHONE. For storing the four numbers, (see Programming ) The emergency key should be pressed until the yellow led is on and we hear the dial tone. That needs approximately 4 seconds (If the emergency key is pressed accidentally, action is ignored). Then the device is automatically dialing the emergency number that is stored in place 1 (S1). If the number is busy or no answer then the device starts dialing the next stored number. Three attempts are made sequentially with numbers S1, S2, S3 and S4. If all 12 attempts fail then the device will be shut down and we must repeat the starting procedure from the beginning. The sequence of choices is : <S1,S2,S3,S4,S1,S2,S3,S4,S1,S2,S3,S4> AUTOMATIC CALL OPERATION THROUGH CONTROL COMMAND Exactly the same procedure as described above could also be done with the way below: The control system of the elevator (or some other electronic system) could start the same automatic dialing just as described above by placing voltage 12V in the contacts CONTROL of the device. Through the sort-circuit NO / NC we choose the appropriate operation as needed each time. Α)In ΝΟ place, start is accomplished if we give voltage 12V in the terminal CONTROL. Β)In NC place, start is accomplished if we disconnect voltage 12V from the terminal CONTROL. ACCEPTANCE OF EXTERNAL CALLS With INTEL PHONE we can accept external calls from other telephones. The device answers to the call if we wish, after a specified number of rings (see Programming ) and remains on the line for 6 minutes. IMPORTANT NOTICE INTEL PHONE does not give an acoustic signal for incoming calls. That means that the trapped people do not observe the external connection with the INTEL PHONE. To start the communication someone should first speak to them.
TERMINATING THE COMMUNICATION We terminate the call from the rescue service by dialing 1* SPECIAL FUNCTIONS DURING THE COMMUNICATION During communication with the INTEL PHONE we have the ability to program (see Programming ), activate or deactivate the relay that is on the device (when there is a 12V power supply on terminals + -) and we can find out the ID of the device. The special commands are: 1*: cuts the line and terminates the communication 2*: asks for the INTEL PHONE s ID 3*: activates the relay (contacts NC C NO) 4*: deactivates the relay (contacts NC C NO) ATTENTION In order for the relay to give the command there must be a power supply of 12V in terminals + -. The command remains for as long as the INTEL PHONE is turned on. PROGRAMMING A. From the device s keyboard. There should be a connection with the telephone in order to start programming. The programming procedure is interrupted when the connection is terminated. Before any kind of programming INTEL PHONE must be turned on. That happens if we press the program key PR placed on the keyboard. We can hear on the earphone the line signal (yellow led on). If we have stored a lock access code, we must enter it, in order to continue with programming. This code is not necessary if we do not store it (#89 adjustment or 0000 as a code) With every acceptable command INTEL PHONE informs the user with 2 bip (O.K.) After every adjustment INTEL PHONE remains on and waits for a new command. With PR key we can turn off /on the device at any time, only during programming. STORING TELEPHONE NUMBERS If we do not have an acoustic signal in the earphone, we must press PR key and enter the access code (if needed). (Ο.Κ.) = bip from the device. 1st Telephone number : S+1(O.K.)< telephone number >S(O.K.) 2nd Telephone number: S+2(O.K.)< telephone number >S(O.K.) 3rd Telephone number: S+3(O.K.) < telephone number >S(O.K.) 4th Telephone number: S+4(O.K.)< telephone number >S(O.K.) With this way the necessary telephone numbers are stored in the internal memory of INTEL PHONE (S1, S2, S3 and S4) In case of wrong handling, shut down the telephone, by pressing the 'PR' key wait for three seconds and then press the PR key again to restart the programming procedure. B. Calling the device from a distance. There should be a connection with the telephone in order to start programming. The programming procedure is interrupted when the connection is terminated. To program from a distance we should call the INTEL PHONE first. When it answers it sends in DTMF tones its ID and it automatically starts the speak mode. We can now enter the special commands (see Special functions during programming ) or start the program mode. To start the program mode we have to enter the lock access code and if it is correct (2 DTMF tones O.K.) we can proceed. If the code is wrong the INTEL PHONE gives 1 DTMF tone and we have to re-enter the code if we wish to proceed. We enter the code by dialing # the four digits # (#nnnn#) when the code is correct we can program the INTEL PHONE. If we want to go back to the previous function (Special commands) we dial 1.
STORING TELEPHONE NUMBERS 1st Telephone number : #+1(O.K.) < telephone number >#(O.K.) 2nd Telephone number : #+2(O.K.) < telephone number >#(O.K.) 3rd Telephone number : #+3(O.K.) < telephone number >#(O.K.) 4th Telephone number : #+4(O.K.) < telephone number >#(O.K.) With this way the necessary telephone numbers are stored in the internal memory of INTEL PHONE (S1,S2,S3 and S4) All 4 memory positions must ALWAYS be occupied with a telephone number. If only one number is available, then it should be written in all four positions. SPECIAL FUNCTIONS The device must be turned on first, by pressing the PR key. #080 : Adjusting earphone volume Press 1 to increase volume. Press 2 to decrease volume. After the desirable adjustment, press * for storing. Factory preset <50%>. #081ν : Number of rings for answering when someone is calling v=1 to 9 We place a number from 0 to 9 This number stands for how many times the device will be ringing before it answers. By placing number 0 the device does not answer. Factory preset < 0 >. After the desirable choice, the device will send an ok signal #082 : Adjusting the ISDN for intracom s modem(deactivate the 'on hook' delay) INTEL PHONE starts and automatically calls code **71# to cancel the 'on hook' delay. The device will send an ok signal after 1 second. #083 : Adjusting the ISDN for intracom s modem (accepting flash time) INTEL PHONE starts and automatically calls code **25*20#, to adjust flash time less than 200 msec. The device will send an ok signal after 1 second. Terminating the call during communication (when green light is on). #084* user has the ability to terminate the call during communication (green light on), if the button is pressed for more than 3 seconds. If pressed for less than three seconds the INTEL PHONE calls the next number. #084# choice is deactivated. Factory preset < deactivated function>. After the desirable choice, the device will send an ok signal. Option of accepting filter function. #085* activate filter (lift in working condition) #085# choice is deactivated. Factory preset < deactivated function>. After the desirable choice, the device will send an ok signal. Option of automatic sending the ID of the INTEL PHONE. #086* activates INTEL PHONE to automatically send the ID when it comes to speaking condition or when it answers when it is called. #086# choice is deactivated. Factory preset < deactivated>. #87+n: Number of days for self test. (There must be a power supply of 12V in terminals + - in order to use this application) We enter a number from 0 to 9 (for n= 0 to 9) This number indicates the number of days after which the device will give the code to make a self test. When the chosen number is 0 then the device does not make a self test Factory preset<3>.
After the desirable choice, the device will send an ok signal. #088+nnnn : Enter the identification number of INTEL PHONE. (n=number) We enter the four numbers of identification code. When the rescue service receives these numbers then knows the exact details of the installation. Factory preset < 0000>. #089 : Changing the lock access code to the functions of the INTEL PHONE. We place 4 numbers, that will represent the lock access code, to the functions of the INTEL PHONE. When the code is 0000 it is not requested in the beginning. Factory preset < 0000 >.no lock access code #08i : Restoring factory adjustments. It restores the factory adjustments and deletes the 4 stored numbers of lock access code and ID COMPLIANCE TO EC DIRECTIVES The Directive 99/5/EC describes that At the choice of the manufacturer, compliance of the apparatus with the essential requirements identified in Article 3(1)(a) and (b) may be demonstrated using the procedures specified in Directive 73/23/EEC and Directive 89/336/EEC respectively, where the apparatus is within the scope of those Directives, as an alternative to the procedures laid out below.
