3 1 INTRODUCTION The GD30.2 device is a connection between the alarm control panel and the GSM dialer system, with a loudspeaker, a microphone, a display and a keyboard attached. Equipped with the speaker and the microphone, the device makes it possible to record short voice messages. It is possible to record four voice messages up to 8 seconds to each of the messages. The device has eight inputs informing about emergency situations to which any sensors, such as sensors of temperature, movement or smoke and etc. can be connected. It is possible to divide inputs into partitions and assign each of them two different voice information. Thanks to the incorporated GSM dialer, in case of an alarm signal, the device can dial a prior saved telephone number and, after getting connected, play the voice message assigned to that specific alarm signal. To make sure that the message was listened to, a recipient will be asked to confirm it by pressing an appropriate button on the telephone keypad. Irrespective of the summary of the voice calls the device can send an SMS message of any specified content on the mobile phone numbers. GD30.2 makes it possible to save 9 telephone numbers for making the voice calls (and sending SMS messages). The device setup can be done via the built-in keyboard and a display as well as remotely via SMS or CSD. Page 3 of 26
4 2 BASIC FUNCTIONS AND APPLICATIONS Security - The GPRS transmit ion functions enables the device to communicate with the monitoring station. This will provide greater sense of security e.g. while staying abroad. Control - Thanks to division into two zones the device is as functional as a simple alarm control panel. This helps the preliminary identification of a source of the alarm signals as well as better control while you are away. Supervision - A radio monitoring function allows for calling the number of your device at any time of the day and checking what is going on in the room. This function is useful when verifying false alarms, but also for monitoring children or animals left at home. Page 4 of 26

10 5.1.5 Displaying the GSM network mode The device informs the user about the mode of connection to the GSM network by showing the information in the right top corner of the LCD display. GSM network connected - the signal level is shown with the appropriate number of the vertical bars. GSM:_ :00 The GSM network is disconnected GSM OFF! : Alarm mode Enabling the alarm makes the device instantly send the text messages and voice notifications to the saved phone numbers. First, the text messages are sent and then the machine starts connecting for voice notifications. During a voice call, the device will wait until the confirmation button is pressed to confirm that the message was listened to. The device acknowledges receiving the DTMF code by sending a short sound signal and then ends the call. When the alarm is detected, the device will immediately start the alarm procedure. If at this time, another input is affected, the device will inform the user about it after the completion of the procedure for the first alarm. If the tamper disturbance is detected, the device will notify the user (if the phone number is programmed for such a case) about a possible tampering in the armed or disarmed mode. The notifications on the input disturbances can be deleted from the LCD display by pressing the ESCAPE button in the disarmed mode. Setup ( ) GPRS mode ( OK.-# ) Depending on the user preferences, the device can operate in 1 of the 4 modes: GPRS & SMS, SMS, GPRS, Serverless. GPRS test ( OK.-# ) The device transmits, with the specified interval, the "Test" signal, which informs the monitoring station that the device is working. In this box you should specify the number of seconds (frequency) in which the notification will be sent. SMS mode after ( OK.-# ) This parameter determines the number of attempts to connect to the server. If, during the attempts to connect fail, then the device having no more repeats available, will switch to the SMS mode. In this mode, the device will keep trying to connect to the server, according to the interval defined in the GPRS test submenu. Page 11 of 26
12 SMS test ( OK.-# ) This function works the same way as for the GPRS test. This applies to the cases of GPRS transmission problems. When the device automatically switches to the SMS mode (this also refers to the operation only in the SMS mode). It is not recommended to send test in the SMS form as much as by using the GPRS transmission. This parameter allows to significantly extend the interval between the tests (time in minutes) or to block this option completely. Server number ( OK.-#) If the server application (e.g. OSM. 2007) has the GSM modem connected, you should type its number here. The SMS messages are going to the sent to this number when the transmitter has problems with the GPRS transmission. When this box is left clear or "0" is typed, the transmitter will operate only in the GPRS mode. GPRS ( ) APN params ( ) APN name ( OK.-# ) This parameter depends on the GSM network provider, whose services you are going to use. It specifies the name of the access point to the GPRS network. It is possible to get a private access point. In this case, the name of the access point will be given by the relevant GSM network provider. Press SETUP to exit. Username ( OK.-# ) Signs left: 24 INTERNET APN user name. When using the public APN it is usually not required.
