2 1 general DESCRIPTION The Ref. 1722/71 video door phone kit is particularly easy to install as only two non-polarised wires are required for interconnection between the power supply unit and video door phone and between the video door phone and call station. System modularity permits implementation of various functions in addition to basic features including, for example, video surveillance, presence control, activation of loads, etc. offering suitable solutions to all requirements. System characteristics are as follows: System Possibility of controlling up to 2 call stations with automatic switching; Possibility of controlling up to 4 video door phones (1 Master and 3 Slave ) called in parallel; No local power supply required on call stations or Slave apartment stations; Simplified programming from the via multi-language OSD menu; All devices comply with EC Directives on electromagnetic compatibility and with the Low Voltage Directive; The system is intrinsically protected against static and impulsive electromagnetic disturbances. Call station Call station with Zama front panel resistant to atmospheric agents (IP44); Wide-angle colour call station TV camera and led illumination of subject; White back-lit name tag holder; Confirmation of call forwarding with acoustic signal and switching off of the back-lighting led of the name tag; Apartment station Hands-free video door phone apartment stations with 4.3 colour screen; Soft-touch control and selection keys with acoustic echo; Hands-free or push-to-talk conversation mode: Hands-free: pressing the audio key, the conversation is activated and then de-activated pressing the key again. Push to talk: when the audio key is held down, it is possible to speak from apartment station, while releasing the key enables listening. Up to 4 user-selectable call tones; Adjustable call volume with complete muting (mute function); Driving of voice repetition devices for the hearing-impaired (ILA) in accordance with European Law SOCU A. Basic functions Video door phone answering service able to record up to 32 x 10 second video clips; Possibility of sending a pre-recorded audio message to the caller ; Possibility of leaving an audio message on the for other system users; Activation of the electric lock with capacitive discharge and latching current and programmable activation time; Activation of the electric lock by moving the proximity keys provided close to the call station; Activation of a second lock (vehicle entrance); Pre-engineered for connection of a main entrance button for local activation of the electric lock; Activation of electric locks only after a call or after automatic activation; Possibility of automatic activation of the electric lock after a call (doctor s surgery function); Cyclic auto-activation function on the call stations and on any surveillance cameras; Pre-engineered for switching on stair lights, driven by the video door phones with a dedicated button; Led-type indication of entrance door open. Additional functions Group intercom call to all the other video door phones of the system; Possibility of assigning different call tunes to the intercom call and to that from the call stations; Possibility of connecting an additional ringer or wireless call repeater to each video door phone for repetition of all calls; Possibility of connecting a surveillance camera directly to the ; Possibility of connecting up to 4 surveillance cameras using an optional video switching device; Pre-engineered for connection of intrusion sensors on the ; Led signalling of entrance of a person in the area monitored and emission of an acoustic tone by the video door phone; Repetition of acoustic signalling of the presence of a person, or siren; Activation of a TV camera for filming of images following entrance of a person in the area monitored, with automatic recording of a 10-second video clip.

5 2.3 GENERAL OF the video door phone Adjustment of the time and date VIDEO DOORPHONE DATE / TIME The screen page with the fields of the day, month, year, hour and minutes is displayed: position the cursor on the field desired with the keys, then use the keys to increase or decrease the values displayed; On exiting the screen page, the date and time will be updated. Available on: Adjustment of video door phone volumes VIDEO DOORPHONE VOLUME REGULATION The following screen page is displayed in which the keys can be used to increase or decrease the volume of each of the parameters: ringer volume, internal audio volume (loudspeaker) and key beep; The key beep key can only be activated or de-activated; volume cannot be modified. VOLUME CONTROL MIN MIN RING VOLUME MAX SPEAKER VOLUME MAX OFF ON VOLUME KEY To move from one parameter to another, use the keys. The following commands are also available in the screen page: exit. Accesses the on-line help that describes the main functions present in screen page. To activate the commands, move the cursor (green icon) to the key desired using the arrows, then confirm with. Available on: Remember that, during a communication, the volume of the loudspeaker of the video door phone can be adjusted pressing the arrow keys: or to reduce volume and or to increase volume. 2.4 CALL MANAGEMENT When the call button is pressed: The leds of the TV camera light up (if enabled); The call station emits a confirmation tone; Backlighting of the name tag holder switches off; The video door phones emit the call tone; The images recorded by the TV camera of the call station are shown on the monitor of the and the green key and the red key light up.
6 If no key is pressed within 1 minute from the call, the video door phone returns to idle status. Following a call, the operations listed below can be carried out on the : Activate audio with the key: after activating audio, the key changes to green and it is possible to converse with the caller for a maximum of 3 minutes (the conversation can be interrupted at any time pressing the key again); During the period in which audio is active, key beep is de-activated automatically so as not to disturb the conversation. Activate the electric lock of the entrance from which the call has been sent with the key; Activate the vehicle entrance door opener of the entrance from which the call has been sent with the key; Access the fast menu (see paragraph 2.5) pressing the key. During a communication, the volume of the loudspeaker of the video door phone can be adjusted pressing the arrow keys: or to reduce volume and or to increase volume Functioning with hearing aid The video door phone is fitted with a device that allows hearing-impaired persons wearing a hearing aid to hear the person speaking from the call station or from another video door phone in the case of intercom calls. The device is able to interface hearing aids with T function at a distance of around 20 cm. max 20cm Set the selector to T mode 2.5 FAST ACCESS MENU During a video door phone call or auto-on (see paragraph 2.10), pressing of the key accesses the fast menu: DATE: 26/10/10 TIME: 12:25 REC Image adjustments. If the command is selected in the fast menu screen page, the following screen page is overlapped on the image of the TV camera: AUDIO VIDEO RESET To move from one parameter to the next, use the keys; use the keys to increase or decrease the value of each parameter: adjustment of the volume of the video door phone loudspeaker adjustment of image brightness
7 adjustment of image contrast adjustment of image colour The following commands are also available in the screen page: RESET restores the factory-set values of loudspeaker volume, brightness, contrast and colour exit. accesses the on-line help which describes the main functions present in the screen page. To activate the commands, move the cursor (green icon) to the key desired using the arrows then confirm with. 2.6 Video door phone answering service The video door phone answering service makes it possible to record 10-second videos from any of TV cameras present in the system (call station cameras or surveillance cameras). The recording can be made automatically following a call or manually. To activate the answering service for automatic recording of images following a call: REC AUTO VIDEOCLIPS SNAP OFF The caption under the icon indicates that the video door phone answering service is ON: REC AUTO VIDEOCLIPS SNAP OFF REC AUTO VIDEOCLIPS SNAP ON The led lights up in green steady mode (in the case of local audio messages not yet listened to, the led switches to flashing red). When the function is active, following a call, the video door phone records a 10-second audio and video message with images coming from the TV camera of the station from which the call has been forwarded. Recording of the video starts two seconds after sending of the call. Available on: Recording can be interrupted pressing one of the following keys:,,. If recording is interrupted in the first three seconds, the video will not be saved. For manual activation of recording, see paragraph 9.5 on the full manual. 2.7 DISPLAY OF VIDEOS IN THE memory The video door phone is equipped with a memory able to contain up to 32 x 10-second audio and video messages. If at least one video has been recorded automatically and has not yet been displayed, the led switches to flashing green (in the case local audio messages not yet listened to, the led flashes alternatively in red and green). To display the videos in the memory: PLAY PLAY RECORDED VIDEOCLIPS The first photogram of the first video available is displayed; VIDEOCLIP NR: 01/18 RECORDED ON: 26/10/10 AT: 12:58 Display sequence follows the order of recording, starting from the most recent video. If the limit of 32 videos is exceeded, the older videos will be overwritten. Various information is displayed in the top part of the screen: video number, total number of videos in the memory, date and time of recording. 7
8 The following commands are available in the lower part: selects the previous video. starts display of the video; during display, a counter of the seconds of the video is started and the icon changes to with which it is possible to suspend display. selects the next video. blocks the video, preventing cancellation of this; blocked videos are identified by the the display. The same command can be used to unblock a blocked video. icon amongst the information in the top part of eliminates the video: activating this command, the video selected can be cancelled or all the videos present in memory and not blocked. exit. accesses the on-line help which describes the main functions of the various commands present in the screen page. To activate the commands, move the cursor (green icon) to the key desired using the arrows then confirm with. Available on: 2.8 local AUDIO MESSAGES On the, it is possible to leave audio messages for users who may return home during your absence. An audio message of maximum 20 seconds can be recorded Recording To record a new message: VOICE MESSAGE The recording screen page is displayed: RECORDING INTERNAL VOICE MESSAGE RECORDING PRESS BUTTON AND TALK (MAX 20 SECONDS VOICE MESSAGE) DATE: 26/10/10 TIME: 14: The following commands are available in the lower part of the screen page: starts recording of the message, the central bar indicates the time remaining for the message; the icon changes to with which it is possible to interrupt recording of the message before expiry of the maximum time allowed. During recording, key beep is automatically disabled so as not to disturb the message. used to play back the message just recorded. eliminates the message just recorded. exit. accesses the on-line help which describes the main functions of the various commands present in the screen page. On completion of recording, the led on the front panel of the video door phone changes to flashing red (if a new video recorded automatically is present, the led flashes alternatively in red and green). To activate the commands, move the cursor (green icon) to the key desired using the arrows then confirm with. Available on:
9 2.8.2 Playback To listen to messages left by other users: VOICE MESSAGE PLAYING The playback screen page is displayed with indication of the date and time at which the message was recorded; The following commands are available in the lower part of the screen page: starts audio playback of the message; the icon changes to with which it is possible to interrupt playback. interrupts playback of the message. eliminates the message. exit. accesses the on-line help which describes the main functions of the various commands present in the screen page. Following playback of the message, the led switches to red. To activate the commands, move the cursor (green icon) to the key desired using the arrows then confirm with. 10 2.10 AUTO-ON FUNCTION Pressing the button, the image of the TV camera of the main call station can be displayed on the video door phone. If the system comprises a second call station, pressing the key again, the images of the TV camera of the additional call station are displayed. TV camera call station 1 TV camera call station 2 OFF Available on: 2.11 CALL TONE MUTING To mute the call tone, press the key. Muting of the call tone is indicated by the led which switches to green steady mode. With this function active, in the case of a call, any additional ringers will also be muted but the video module of the Master video door phone will switch on. Available on: 2.12 AUTOMATIC door opening With this function, a door open command is sent automatically when a call is received. This function is particularly useful for doctor s surgeries during surgery hours as patients can enter without any disturbance. To activate the function: AUTO AUTOMATIC DOOR The caption under the icon indicates that the function is active: OPEN OFF AUTO AUTOMATIC DOOR OPEN OFF AUTO AUTOMATIC DOOR OPEN ON The led switches to flashing green (if the door open alert is active at the same time, the led flashes alternatively in red and green). Available on: 2.13 LOCKING OF THE KEYPAD If it is necessary to clean the video door phone, in view of the extreme sensitivity of the soft touch keys on the front panel, it is advisable to lock the keypad, proceeding as follows: Press the to switch on the video and access the main menu; KEYPAD LOCK The keypad will remain insensitive for around 30 seconds during which a sliding bar is displayed to indicate the time remaining After 30 seconds, the video door phone returns to idle status; If a call is received during the 30 seconds in which the keys are locked, the video door phone returns immediately to normal functioning. Available on: 2.14 RESTORE OF video door phone DEFAULT PROGRAMMING To restore the factory settings of the video door phone: 10
11 VIDEO DOORPHONE DEFAULT A screen page is displayed in which the user is requested to confirm restore of the factory settings by positioning the cursor on YES or NO and then confirming with ; Following confirmation, the video door phone asks the user to select the language (see the full manual).
