Students select one elective subject as part of the GDPAdmin. Those considering on upgrading to the MPAdmin may wish to consider choosing an elective subject towards an area of specialisation. Eligible students may also select a research unit as an elective; either as part of a specialisation or as a stand alone subject. Subjects outside of this list may be taken with the approval of the Director, GSG. To request permission please complete our Elective Approval Form( which can be completed online. Prerequisites may be waived due to previous study or work experience. For subjects of or 4 credit point value - permission is required from Director, GSG, before enrolling in any of these subjects For LAWS UoS - Students are required to hold an undergraduate degree in law. For criminology units - Students will be assessed on an individual basis prior to enrolment. 5 lective Subjects - Graduate School of Government - The University of S... of 0 9//04 9: PM INFO599 Services Science and Eng INFO599 Understanding IT Innovations The main focus of the subject is to provide students with the necessary tools, basic skills, experience and adequate knowledge so they develop an awareness and an understanding of the responsibilities and issues associated with professional conduct and practice in the information technology sector. A INFO5990 Students are expected to have a degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, information systems or business. A INFO5990. Students are expected to be fluent in English and capable of participating in group discussions, and capable of producing an individually written paper of 5-9 pages (double spaced) of high quality and clarity. Although some work experience is ideal in adding value to the case discussions, allowing students to pull from their personal experiences, those students with no work experience will be expected to do appropriate research on the discussion topics in order to contribute. N PMGT5875 INFO007 Project in IT INFO007 Project in IT INFS500 Project INFS00 Managing Information and Systems INFS00 Managing Information and Systems LAWS0 Administrative Law A variety of learning situations will be employed during the unit of study, including lectures, recommended reading, a few short exercises during class, and discussions of cases. To benefit fully from this unit it is necessary to participate fully in all aspects of the unit of study. A Students enrolled in INFO007 are assumed to have previously completed a Bachelor`s degree in some area of IT, or have completed a Graduate Diploma in some area of IT, or have three years experience as a practising IT professional. Recent work experience, or recent postgraduate education, in software project management, software process improvement, or software quality assurance is an advantage. N PMGT587 A Students enrolled in INFO007 are assumed to have previously completed a Bachelor`s degree in some area of IT, or have completed a Graduate Diploma in some area of IT, or have three years experience as a practising IT professional. Recent work experience, or recent postgraduate education, in software project management, software process improvement, or software quality assurance is an advantage.
