4 ABOUT OUR ROOMS Arlington Conference Centre offers state-of-the-art facilities in a spacious and stylish setting. From small intimate meetings to large conferences, our flexible rooms can be tailored to meet your needs. Flexible spaces Conference rooms 1, 2 and 3 can be combined for larger events and conferences or used individually for smaller, more intimate meetings. All rooms have acoustic panelling and air conditioning. 10 ABOUT ARLINGTON S HISTORY Arlington House was the last and largest of the Rowton Houses, a hostel providing clean accommodation for over 1,000 working men during the latter part of the 19th century. Famous residents have included George Orwell and Irish poet Brendan Behan, often featuring in their work and even getting a mention in the song One Better Day by Madness. One Housing took over Arlington in 2009 and transformed it into a multipurpose hub of commercial and support services. There are now 95 residential rooms for homeless and vulnerable adults and 44 studio flats for low-income workers as well as the Conference Centre. Arlington also has a range of social economy partners who rent office spaces and artist studios.
