2 General Information COURSE DESCRIPTION Collaborative 3D Printing in Medical Practice is a post-graduate course designed to update and introduce radiologists, surgeons, dentists, biomedical engineers and other health professionals and administrators on uses of 3D printing of anatomic models. Creating accurate models of the anatomy contributes to improved postoperative results and increases surgical confidence in complex cases. Segmenting and printing techniques and practical application in medical care, research and education will be reviewed. Surgeons and clinicians from various disciplines will share their Mayo Clinic experience detailing the benefit of the models to their medical and surgical practice. COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES Upon conclusion of this program, participants should be able to: Review what 3D printing is and how it can be applied to imaging data to create anatomic models Describe the important steps in creating a clinically collaborative 3D printing lab Review the role anatomic models play in pre-operative surgical planning in urologic, neurosurgical, orthopedic, dental, thoracic, physical medicine and rehabilitation, thoracic, and complex cardiac patients Attendance at this Mayo course does not indicate nor guarantee competence or proficiency in the performance of any procedures which may be discussed or taught in this course. INTENDED AUDIENCE The Collaborative 3D Printing in Medical Practice course is designed for the radiologists, surgeons, dentists, engineers, and all other health professionals involved or interested in medical 3D printing. CREDIT Mayo Clinic College of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Mayo Clinic College of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 17.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Other Health Care Professionals A certificate of attendance will be provided to other health care professionals for requesting credits in accordance with state nursing boards, specialty societies, or other professional associations. 3 General Information DATE AND LOCATION The Collaborative 3D Printing in Medical Practice course will be held Friday, March 4 Sunday, March 6, 2016 at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess, located in sunny Scottsdale, Arizona. The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess has four award-winning restaurants, state-of-the-art meeting facilities, innovative wellness program Well & Being Spa, and two 18-hole championship golf courses -- one of which is home to the Annual PGA Tour Waste Management Phoenix Open -- this highly acclaimed Scottsdale hotel resort is truly an experience like no other. TRAVEL The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess is located minutes from the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX). The Scottsdale Municipal Airport is only ten miles from the resort and handles private and charter aircraft. The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess does NOT provide complimentary airport shuttle service, but other transportation options are available. Several rental car companies serve the Scottsdale area. 4 General Information LODGING ACCOMMODATIONS The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess offers 649 richly appointed guest rooms, including two Presidential Suites, 69 Fairmont Gold Rooms, and 119 Casitas. All accommodations throughout the hotel have well-defined living and work areas, terraces, wet bars, refreshment centers, and oversized luxury bathrooms. Guest rooms have been reserved for attendees and their guests with a special course rate at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess, 7575 East Princess Drive, Scottsdale, Arizona, Reservations can be made by calling (800) Please identify yourself as a participant in the Mayo Clinic 3D Printing Course when making your reservation. Run of House - $299 Rates are based on single, double, triple, and quad occupancy, with a maximum of 4 total persons (2 adults and 2 children) allowed in each room. The applicable state/city sales tax will be added to the room rate. Group rates will apply three days prior to and three days after conference dates, based on availability. There is no resort fee. Maid and Bellman gratuities are being absorbed by the Hotel. Children under the age of 18 will stay complimentary. In order to receive the special rate, reservations must be made prior to February 11, 2016 or until the room block is sold out. Please note that rooms are limited and early registration is strongly encouraged to avoid disappointment. Hotel check-in time is 4:00 p.m. on the day of arrival. Room assignments prior to this time are subject to availability. Check-out time is before 12:00 p.m. on the day of departure. If any room is not vacated by this time, individuals will be charged a late charge of 50% of the room rate, plus tax. Complimentary internet access in guest rooms. The self-parking fee has been waived for meeting attendees. Overnight valet parking charges are taxable at $20 per car, per night. Parking charges are subject to change. Lodging arrangements are the sole responsibility of the individual registrant.
