New features Web Markup Nw Newfrma Inf Exchange users can view and mark up PDF and raster image files using web markup tls. N additinal sftware is required by the Inf Exchange user. Web markup tls are available t bth internal and external users f Newfrma Inf Exchange, based n permissin sets. Markups are cmpatible with markups prduced by the Newfrma Viewer desktp applicatin and are integrated with the Markup Sessins activity center in Newfrma Prject Center. The web markup prcess is fully integrated int the PIM prcess wrkflws hsted n Newfrma Inf Exchange, including thse fr recrd dcuments, RFIs and submittals. Seamlessly include external team members in the Markup wrkflw. If a markup sessin is interrupted, all wrk is autmatically saved as a draft. Web Markup prvides markup tls similar t thse in the Newfrma Viewer desktp applicatin, including stamps. Custm stamps can be created in Micrsft Wrd and upladed by a Newfrma Inf Exchange user; custm stamps are stred and available fr reuse by the user wh uplads them, r by anyne else in his/her cmpany. Newfrma-t-Newfrma technlgy has been enhanced t enable custmers using Newfrma Prject Center and Newfrma Cntract Management t interact seamlessly with Newfrma Prject Clud-hsted RFIs and submittals. Newfrma Prject Center has been enhanced t integrate with and supprt Newfrma Mbile Apps, including Prject Team, Field Ntes and Plans apps. 2 Newfrma Inf Exchange has been enhanced t supprt Newfrma ID, prviding single sign-n t all Newfrma prjects in which they have been invited t participate. Web links can nw be added t any PIM item as a Newfrma Related Item, enabling easy linking f web resurces t PIM recrds, as well as integratin f dcuments frm intranet r clud strage prviders int PIM recrds. Clud strage integratin File transfer and Shared Flder integratin with ppular clud strage slutins prvides additinal flexibility and ease f use fr recipients f file transfers and shared flders. Supprted clud strage slutins include: Drpbx Bx Ggle Drive Prject team members can select their preferred clud strage slutin n a prject basis. Clud strage integratin can be disabled at the prject level. Field Ntes management The new Field Ntes activity center integrates with the Field Ntes mbile app, prviding a lg view f field ntes, related media and supprting dcuments, which can be prmted t a number f Newfrma PIM bject types, including Actin Items, RFIs, Site Observatins, Daily Reprts, Punch List items and thers. PDF OCR indexing New autmated ptical character recgnitin permits Newfrma indexing f image-based PDFs, enabling searches f previusly inaccessible recrds. Scanned dcuments such as cntracts and drawings will nw appear in yur search results exactly like ther types f files cntaining text. Pwerful OCR sftware will autmatically prcess PDFs in yur prject flder. Yur PDF files will nt be mdified in any way; the captured text is stred behind the scenes fr later searching. Requires zer cnfiguratin r user interactin. Custm fields New user-defined, custm fields available fr Cntacts, Cmpanies and Prjects permit greater flexibility in categrizing these items, and in generating frms and reprts. Custm fields can be designated as ne f many frmats, including text, currency, date/time, pick list, r checkbx. 3 Glbalizatin / Translatin Newfrma Prject Center, Newfrma Cntract Management, Newfrma Building Infrmatin Management, and Newfrma Inf Exchange will be available, fully translated, int several internatinal languages. The first nn-english language supprted will be Simplified Chinese, available in the first half f Additinal languages will fllw, based n reginal market demand. Imprvements t existing features Newfrma Viewer The Newfrma Viewer is packed with features t make viewing and marking up yur dcuments fast and easy. We have cntinued t enhance it with sme f the mst requested custmer features. Newfrma Viewer s imprved perfrmance particularly in lading and navigating large PDFs is nw cmparable t best-in-class PDF viewers. Its imprved user experience encurages greater use f the Newfrma Viewer and its integratin int related PIM wrk prcesses, such as RFI and submittal prcessing. New capability within the Newfrma Viewer t select, cpy and paste text frm a PDF nt the system clipbard, and thence t any supprting applicatin, streamlines cmmn wrk prcesses, reduces the need t transcribe infrmatin, and reduces attendant errrs. Newfrma Viewer nw supprts AutCAD 2013 file frmat. Inf Exchange / file transfer Inf Exchange has als been enhanced with sme f ur mst-requested custmer features. We have fcused n making Inf Exchange the prject infrmatin resurce fr yur prject team when they are ut f the ffice. External prject team members can be granted permissins t create and edit selected PIM items, such as actin items, via Newfrma Inf Exchange, based n permissin sets assigned t the user. The Inf Exchange file transfer prcess has been enhanced t permit the transmittal t be included directly in the file transfer package and assciated recrd cpy, adding t the cmpleteness f prject recrds. The Newfrma Add-in fr Micrsft Outlk has been enhanced t allw internal prject team members request a file transfer frm ad hc recipients withut adding them t the prject team. An ed link permits recipients t cnnect t Inf Exchange and uplad a file transfer, facilitating quick, simple sharing f infrmatin. Additinal links in incming transfer ntificatins, including quick dwnlad links, partial dwnlads, and Newfrma Inf Exchange lgin links, make it easier t access the incming infrmatin via smartphnes and tablets, as well as facilitate access t the infrmatin via new web markup tls. External prject team members can be granted access t Supprting Dcuments assciated with PIM bjects that have been shared with them via Newfrma Inf Exchange. Newfrma Inf Exchange is enhanced t enable prject team members t easily view the frms generated by the creatin/editing f a PIM bject n Inf Exchange. 4 Inf Exchange nw enables internal prject team members t execute the cmplete wrkflw assciated with the creatin f a new actin item, including creatin f the assciated ntificatins. Permissin Set assignments are nw clearer and easier t understand. Dcument Cntrl Building n the dcument cntrl feature intrduced in Eighth Editin, we have imprved reliability, speed and usability. Enhanced matching f sheet names t recrd dcuments significantly simplifies the prcess f assembling a dcument issue, saving time and effrt, and reducing errrs. Sheets published frm Revit may ptinally be published directly int Dcument Cntrl as an integral part f the mdel publishing functinality f Newfrma Prject Infrmatin Link, the Newfrma add-in fr Revit. The prcess t reissue previus revisins f selected recrd dcuments has been simplified. The Dcument Cntrl activity center has been enhanced t better supprt additinal recrd dcument types, in additin t drawings and plan sheets. Publish recrds frm Dcument Cntrl t a single, multipage PDF fr submittals and cnstructin dcument packages. The tracking f the sheet renumbering detail has been added t the Change Lg. Reprting Cntinued enhancements f Excel-based custm reprts based n Smart Marker technlgy prvide greater flexibility and cntrl in the develpment f sphisticated custm reprts. Excel reprting templates can reference ther data surces, and prvide a wide range f frmatting ptins, including subttals, frmulas, numeric frmats, and gruping. Users can nw specify default reprt templates fr each activity center at the system r the prject level. Default can be verridden by selecting an alternate template frm a list f available templates at the time the reprt is run, prviding flexibility and cntrl in generating a variety f standard and custm reprts. Frms / Ntificatins Cntinued enhancements f Wrd-based templates fr frms and ntificatins prvide greater flexibility and cntrl in the custmizatin f all frms and ntificatins. Frms are based n Micrsft Wrd templates that simplify crprate custmizatin and streamline the generatin f cntracts and ther dcuments based n standard bilerplate, saving time and reducing errrs. NOTE: Supprt fr InfPath-based templates cntinues thrugh tenth editin, but will be drpped in the next majr release. Please begin migrating custm templates t Wrd and Excel with the implementatin f tenth editin. Frms and ntices may nw be generated frm the Newfrma Cntract Management add-n and the Meeting Minute activity center, allwing the generated ntices t be sent via r Inf Exchange alng with the assciated files. A new Related Items clumn is nw displayed in mst lg views, permitting filtering lg views by related Newfrma items, prviding increased access t targeted subsets f prject infrmatin. 5 Cntact / Cmpany Directry The capabilities fr managing cmpanies, cntacts and prject team members have been significantly enhanced in bth Newfrma Prject Center and Newfrma Inf Exchange. Each cmpany can be mre accurately categrized thrugh new rating, type and rle fields. A list f all assciated prjects fr the cmpany is als available. Cntacts have a new rle field. Additinal fields in Cmpany and Cntact recrds facilitate filtering t select vendrs and subcntractrs, amng many ther use cases. Fr bth cmpanies and cntacts, administratrs can define custm fields fr specialized reprting. Track ntes at a glbal level fr cmpanies and cntacts. The Change Lg fr bth Glbal Cmpanies and Cntacts will mnitr changes t a wider range f data fields. Cntact and Cmpany values are included in search results.a new Cntact prperty determines whether a prject team member appears in the Cntact Directry applicatin, prviding greater cntrl ver the visibility f cntact infrmatin, particularly valuable fr sensitive prjects. System Administratin Prject settings, merging tabs, and gruping settings have been simplified t streamline prject setup. Lcal indexing f prject infrmatin fr prjects that span multiple ffices imprves indexing and search perfrmance and reduces netwrk traffic. In-prduct licensing has changed t simplify and align licensing f add-n mdules with current prduct packaging. A new Financial Manager rle helps cntrl visibility f prject cntract and financial infrmatin. Numerus enhancements f installatin packages update the technlgy framewrk cmpnents, manage dependencies, simplify installatin and increase reliability.
