5 Crestrn Fusin Sftware: Enterprise Management Platfrm Intrductin This dcument is prvided as an aid t the installatin f Crestrn Fusin sftware fr deplyment n servers r virtual machines running n-premises r hsted in a data center that has netwrk cnnectivity t n-premises devices. NOTE: This dcument is nt intended fr Crestrn Fusin Clud Editin sftware. Refer t the Crestrn website fr release ntes n the features and fixes added t the latest release f the Fusin RV and Fusin EM sftware. Fr infrmatin regarding best practices fr using the Crestrn Fusin sftware, refer t the Crestrn Fusin Sftware EMP Best Practices (Dc. 7684) at Prerequisites The sftware r sftware cmpnents described in this sectin must be installed and available t the system where Crestrn Fusin services are t be installed. The applicatin must have access t these cmpnents either directly r ver a netwrk. Be sure that all f the latest updates fr these applicatins are als installed. The prerequisites fr a successful Crestrn Fusin installatin are discussed in this sectin. NOTE: This guide assumes that the installer pssesses a thrugh knwledge f Micrsft Windws Server 2008 R2, Micrsft Windws Server 2012, r Micrsft Windws Server 2012 R2 perating systems and that the chsen Windws server is crrectly installed. NOTE: Befre installing the Crestrn Fusin applicatin, be sure that all Micrsft Windws sftware updates have been installed. 6 Installatin Requirements Operating System Requirements The Crestrn Fusin applicatin supprts Micrsft Windws Server 2008 R2, Micrsft Windws Server 2012, and Micrsft Windws Server 2012 R2 perating systems. NOTE: Crestrn Fusin sftware is nt supprted n the Micrsft Windws Server 2008 perating system (released prir t Micrsft Windws Server 2008 R2 perating system). Operating System Cmpnent Requirements The perating system rles and features (listed belw) are required by the Crestrn Fusin applicatin. The installer autmatically installs any cmpnents that are nt already present. Crestrn Tlbx TM r the Crestrn Tlbx Server Editin shuld be installed using the current versin available at Apprpriate virtual directries must be set up fr the RSS feeds used fr publishing data frm the CaptureLiveHD system. If the Crestrn Fusin applicatin is nt used in cnjunctin with the CaptureLiveHD system, the virtual directries are nt required. One f these web brwsers must be installed n wrkstatins that access the Crestrn Fusin applicatin server: Internet Explrer brwser versin 10.0 r later Firefx brwser versin 42.0 r later Chrme brwser versin 47.0 r later Safari brwser versin r later Fusin InSite technlgy requires that the Java SE Runtime Envirnment (JRE) must be installed n every Crestrn Fusin server t be able t imprt IFC files as interactive 3D building flr plans. JRE can be dwnladed frm the Oracle website at The user must first accept the Oracle Binary Cde License Agreement, and then select the Windws x64 EXE dwnlad t prceed with the installatin. JRE versin 7u79 is the minimum versin that is cmpatible with Fusin InSite. Dmain Service Accunt Requirements By default, the Crestrn Fusin applicatin is installed with Lcal System Accunts. Hwever, it is recmmended that the Crestrn Fusin applicatin services are run frm a Dmain Service Accunt. T install the Crestrn Fusin applicatin with a Dmain Service Accunt, the fllwing prcedure must be perfrmed in additin t meeting the prerequisites described in the Operating System Cmpnent Requirements sectin. 8 NOTE: If using a Dmain Service Accunt fr installatin r upgrade, the service accunt must have the SysAdmin rle n the SQL Server database. 1. Determine the Dmain Service Accunt t be used. 2. Cnfigure the Crestrn Fusin applicatin services t run using this accunt. 3. Add the accunt t the SQL Server database with db_wner and public permissins mapped t the Crestrn Fusin applicatin catalg. Windws vs. Frms Authenticatin Authenticatin dictates hw a user lgs int the Crestrn Fusin applicatin. User access t the applicatin is based n the grup membership and the security plicies that have been defined fr thse grups within the applicatin. In Windws authenticatin, users and grups are accessed frm the Active Directry. The user accesses the Crestrn Fusin applicatin with the same credentials that were used t lg int the cmputer. The user s credentials are passed t the Crestrn Fusin applicatin which retrieves a list f grups frm Active Directry (in which the user belngs). The grup list is cmpared t the security access plicies defined in the Crestrn Fusin applicatin, and the user is assigned access based n the plicies that are assigned t the user s grups. The Windws authenticatin is mre secure than the Frms authenticatin. The drawback is that the Windws Authenticatin requires management and cnfiguratin frm within Active Directry. In the Frms authenticatin, users and grups are defined within the Crestrn Fusin applicatin. Security is applied the same way as the Windws authenticatin, but it is applied t the grups and users that have been defined within the Crestrn Fusin applicatin. Active Directry is nt used. User access is easily managed by Crestrn Fusin applicatin administratrs and can accmmdate users that are nt part f the dmain r that d nt have dmain credentials. Hwever, the Frms authenticatin is less secure and entails mre management. Windws Active Directry Integratin (Windws Authenticatin) Requirements Fr installatins using Windws Authenticatin, Active Directry grups prvide different levels f access t the applicatin. Existing Active Directry grups can be used. Fr example, the fllwing Active Directry Dmain Grups and Dmain User Accunts can be set up as fllws: Fr Crestrn Fusin administratrs, add the Dmain User Accunts t the DOMAIN\RmViewAdmins grup. Fr Crestrn Fusin users, add the Dmain User Accunts t the DOMAIN\RmViewUsers grup. Fr Crestrn Fusin managers, add the Dmain User Accunts t the DOMAIN\RmViewManagers grup. Apply these grups t the Functinal and Object security plicies in Crestrn Fusin. 9 Alert Requirements Fr installatins using alerts, an SMTP Server must be available fr sending s. Micrsft Exchange Requirements Fr Micrsft Exchange envirnments, the fllwing must be available: Micrsft Exchange 2010 r Micrsft Exchange 2013 with Exchange Web Services (EWS) Managed (preferred) Full mailbx access t Micrsft Exchange resurce mailbxes using dmain credentials Ltus Dmin Requirements Fr installatins integrating IBM Dmin (versins 7.0, 8.0, 8.5, and 9.0) sftware as the scheduling calendar, the fllwing must be present in additin t the prerequisites shwn in the Operating System Cmpnent Requirements sectin. User infrmatin must be entered in the Dmin Settings tab in the Schedule Service settings f the Crestrn Fusin Cnfiguratin Web Client. The IBM Ntes Client applicatin must be installed n the Crestrn Fusin server. Befre Installing Crestrn Fusin Befre the Crestrn Fusin applicatin is installed, the SQL Server Agent must be running. If errrs are encuntered in the Crestrn Fusin Services Manager (FSM), an SQL cde must be run. Rights The accunt installing the Crestrn Fusin applicatin must have the fllwing rights: Lcal Administratr s rights n any server where Crestrn Fusin cmpnents are installed Lgin with SysAdmin rights (runtime des nt require SysAdmin; it requires nly db_wner n the Crestrn Fusin applicatin database) A Dmin User Accunt with read access t the Dmin Directry and read/write access t the Resurce Reservatins database (if Ltus Ntes sftware is being used fr scheduling) NOTE: By default, the Dmin Resurce Reservatins database is named Resurce.nsf, and the Dmin Directry is named names.nsf; hwever, in sme installatins these names may be changed and they may be cmpsed f multiple databases spanning multiple Dmin servers and Dmin dmains. Therefre, the user that has access t the Dmin database shuld have access t all necessary resurce reservatins databases and the main Dmin Directry Server. 10 Installatin Prcedure The installatin is perfrmed using a setup wizard. The installatin prcess shuld take apprximately ne hur. NOTE: After the installatin prcedure is cmplete, changes t the Crestrn Fusin applicatin cmpnents can be made in Cnfiguratin Manager. Refer t the Cnfiguratin Prcedure sectin. 1. Lg in t the Crestrn Fusin server with the Dmain Service Accunt r anther Lcal Administratr Accunt if nt using a specific Dmain Service Accunt. Fr mre details, refer t the Dmain Service Accunt Requirements sectin. 2. Right-click the Crestrn Fusin Installer icn frm the desktp and select Run as administratr. Crestrn Fusin Installer Icn The installer checks the system t see if all f the prerequisites t run the Crestrn Fusin applicatin are in place. If any prerequisites are missing, they are installed at this time. NOTE: Fr specific details n prerequisites, refer t the Prerequisites sectin. 3. If the User Accunt Cntrl windw pens asking the user t allw the prgram t make changes t the cmputer, click Yes. NOTE: The installatin f Micrsft.NET Framewrk 4.5 may require a rebt. The rebt ccurs silently withut a prmpt. If the installatin is accepted, be prepared t allw the server t rebt. Once the prcess is cmplete, the Crestrn Fusin Installatin windw pens. 15 Cnfiguratin Prcedure The Crestrn Fusin instance cnfiguratin is perfrmed using a setup wizard. After cnfiguratin is cmplete, an instance needs t be cnfigured using the FSM. The Cnfiguratin Manager prvides an easy-t-use interface fr defining r changing certain required settings that allw all installed applicatin cmpnents t interact. The Cnfiguratin Manager cmpletes the installatin and manages the starting and stpping f the FSM. An instance is an envirnment (files, flders, prcesses, websites, and services) that represents the Crestrn Fusin applicatin. NOTE: T change setup and cnfiguratin settings after the initial installatin and cnfiguratin are cmplete, refer t Appendix A: Frcing a Database Update. Click the Crestrn Supprt Infrmatin link t access supprt, training, and additinal resurces fr Crestrn Fusin. Click the Imprt settings frm file link t imprt all cnfiguratin data frm a file. Frm the Server, Database, Licensing, and Fusin Prcess sectins, yu can view the server name, database and licensing infrmatin, and applicatin prcess details. 3. Frm the Database Install/Update Credentials (SYSADMIN) sectin, d the fllwing: Chse the Authenticatin Mde, either a Windws r SQL Server fr client access. Enter the Lgin ID and Passwrd. These credentials are used fr test cnnectin. If Windws is selected, use the frmat user@dmain when entering the lgin ID. A lgin ID and passwrd are required. If SQL Server is selected, the SQL Server database defines the lgin ID and passwrd t be authenticated. A lgin ID and passwrd are required. 9. Frm the Database Runtime Credentials sectin, d the fllwing: Chse the Authenticatin Mde, either Windws r SQL Server fr client access. Enter a Lgin ID fr the accunt that cnnects t the database at runtime. Enter the Passwrd fr the runtime database accunt. 10. Click Test Cnnectin t test the cnnectin t the specified database server using the administrative database credentials, and display the database ptins. 11. Frm the Database Optins sectin, d the fllwing: Click the Frce DB Update check bx t frce a database update. Click the Use SQL Disks check bx t create a database. The Use SQL Disks feature is used nly when creating a new database. The Messages tab displays date- and time-stamped messages regarding the sftware installatin. Click the Verbse check bx t display detailed infrmatin abut messages. NOTE: Be sure t review and verify the infrmatin shwn in the Summary tab befre clicking Apply t cmmit the changes t the FSM. 19. Click Apply t cmmit the changes t the FSM. 22 Validating the Installatin This prcedure shuld be perfrmed after the installatin and cnfiguratin prcedures have been successfully cmpleted. 1. Enter the fllwing URL int a brwser: t pen the Crestrn Fusin Lgin windw. NOTE: If the server is nt n an internal netwrk, cnsider setting up IIS fr https nly and install a certificate n the server. 24 Appendix A: Frcing a Database Update If the schema versin f an existing database matches the current versin f Crestrn Fusin, a database update des nt ccur. When a database update is frced, the database schema is refreshed. This prcedure can be perfrmed during r after the installatin and cnfiguratin prcess. 1. Duble-click the Crestrn Fusin icn n the desktp t pen the Crestrn Fusin Cnfiguratin Manager windw. 2. Click Database t pen the Database windw. Database Windw 3. 25 Appendix B: Specifying SQL Server Database Disks The Crestrn Fusin Installer typically uses the default SQL Server database settings fr the lcatin f the database, file grups, and lg files. If the user r the Database Administratr (DBA) requires a different cnfiguratin than the default SQL Server database cnfiguratin calls fr, use the fllwing prcedure t specify the lcatins f the database files. NOTE: T test an SQL cnnectin, the user must have valid credentials, and the database name entered cannt already exist. 1. Duble-click the Crestrn Fusin icn n the desktp.
