1 ESNM TSG; Hands-on Motility Course for trainees Supported by United European Gastroenterology This course aims to meet trainees with the experts of motility field in small groups, showing traditional as well as new modalities and discuss patients. At the end of the course, participants will understand; 1) Esophageal high-resolution manometry for motility disorders, 24h ph monitoring, 24h multichannel intraesophageal impedance, anorectal high-resolution manometry (live demo) and anorectal function tests for constipation and incontinence (live demo) 2) New version of Chicago HRM classification at motility disorders (normal and achalasia cases with live demo) 3) Software analysis of those techniques and diagnose first normal/ordinary motility disturbances and followed by difficult cases 4) New technologies such as ambulatory HRM, Endoflip etc. 5) An opportunity to discuss the difficult cases presented in live videos with experts. The courses will be organized at 15-18th June, 2016.Course date: 16 th & 17 th. Course language: English SELECTION CRITERIA: 1. Must be born January 1, 1976 or later. 2. Must have fluent English 3. Must currently work in a center which has or will have motility and intraesophageal ph monitoring equipment 4. The scientific interest of the applicants in the specific topics of the Course.

University Clinic for Visceral Surgery and Medicine, Bern University Hospital, Switzerland Francois Mion: Responsible from Anorectal function tests MULTIDISCIPLINARY ASPECTS Courses will be open to different disciplines such as Gastroenterology, general surgery and scientists who are interested the field. INTERACTIVE ELEMENTS Participants will be divided into small groups; 5 participants each room to ensure effective learning. Each room supervised by one Faculty and technician. 90 minutes in each training room for each group. Each session will begin with a short didactic introduction. The rest of the time is dedicated to hands-on training. Each attendee will have a computer and personal guidance by the faculty. All participants will fill-out a form to show their interest level for different topics. According to the results Faculty will make suitable changes in their talks and hands-on training.some suggested readings will be provided before the course. EDUCATIONAL TEACHING FORMATS The program will cover different teaching formats such as small group teaching (5 participants each room and one faculty), hands-on training (each room will have cases for demonstration), case based discussions (one half day will dedicate for case discussions accompanied aith live video clips from different classical or difficult cases). PROGRAM: ARRIVAL AND WELCOME Members of the faculty and attendees will arrive the night before the course begins. DAY 1 AND 2; MORNING SESSIONS: Data Acquisition Each room superived by one Faculty and supported by one Technician. 90 minutes in each training room. Each group includes only 5 attendees to ensure effective learning.

3 3 Each session will begin with a short didactic introduction. The rest of the time is dedicated to practical demonstration and hands-on training. Groups will start from normal cases and move to pathologic cases room for HRM. Room I: Esophageal high-resolution manometry (HRM); normal cases, New technologies Room II: Esophageal high-resolution manometry (HRM); pathologic cases (achalasia) Room III: Anorectal high-resolution Manometry (AR-HRM), Balloon expulsion test and other investigations of continence function testing Room IV: 24h multichannel intraesophageal impedance monitoring DAY 1: AFTERNOON: Data Analysis Each attendee will have a computer and personal guidance by the faculty. Attendees will perform data analysis on a range of patients, commencing with standard diagnoses then building up to testing cases. Esophageal high-resolution manometry (normal and pathologic) and 24h ph / multichannel intraesophageal impedance monitoring, high resolution anorectal manometry and other investigations of continence function. DAY 2 AFTERNOON: Case discussions presented by Faculty and Attendees. Cases will focus on the established technologies including diagnosis and clinical management of esophageal dysmotility, GERD and defecation disorders. There will be three different case discussions in this session; 1. Each group will bring at least one case to maximize learning potential and to ensure effective interaction from their morning sessions. Responsible faculty will review the case ahead of the meeting to avoid repetition and will also advise attendees on edits to ensure consistent quality. 2. Cases by the Faculty; Each faculty will present some basic and / or interesting cases and discuss with attendees. 3. Cases by attendees; all attendees will be asked to bring their cases to discuss. Those cases will be evaluated by the Faculty in advance to makes sure the quality and fit with the course aims. Certificate, badge, printed and electronic educational materials will be provided to attendees and also uploaded to the UEG learning website. ACCOMMODATION: Anemon Ege Hotel**** located on the university hospital campus. Walking distance from the meeting. big swimming pool, open buffet great breakfast (incl), walking distance also to one of the best shopping Malls in Turkey. There is a short

( Dinners: 1 th night: Hotel (not covered) 2 th night: fish menu on the bay including drinks 3 th night: meat menu on the bay including drinks Lunchs: Lunch box at the hospital. All participants should cover their travel costs however there will be a limited number of registration fee support for the participants. If a signed letter by the head of the Department /Hospital is provided declaring that participant does not have any financial support, according to the budget, a limited support might be given.
