Day 2 Tuesday, October 23, 2012 Arrive in Helsinki Welcome to Finland! Helsinki is the country s capital and largest city, with a population of just under 600,000. Walking tour of Helsinki Explore Helsinki this afternoon with your Tour Director. (The exact route is dependent upon your flight arrival time and location of the hotel.) Day 3 Wednesday, October 24, 2012 Guided sightseeing of Helsinki A local guide will introduce you to Helsinki today. See some of the city s most famous landmarks, including Temppeliaukio Church. School Visit Discuss teaching practices with Finnish educators during your visit today. (Visit is pending confirmation.) Day 5 Friday, October 26, 2012 Guided excursion to Tallinn Travel by ferry across the Gulf of Finland to the capital of Estonia. The economy of this former Soviet Republic surged when it joined the EU in It now boasts a very strong IT sector which led, among other things, to the development of Skype. Day 6 Saturday, October 27, 2012 Visit to the Finnish Ministry of Education Examine education policy on the national level as you visit the Ministry today. (Visit is pending confirmation.)
