Describe the protocol and techniques of anal rectal manometry performance 3. Identify normal and abnormal anorectal measurements 4. Describe treatment options for abnormal test findings 5. Identify the anatomy and physiology of the anal canal and rectum as it pertains to the mechanisms of defecation and continence 2. Identify normal and abnormal measurement patterns 3. 5 Anorectal Manometry 2-Day Course Monday (8:00 AM 12:00 PM) Anorectal Anatomy and Physiology > Course Instructor: Dr. Matt Reveille This session offers a detailed description of the anatomy and physiology of the anus and rectum, including sphincters, muscle groups and innervation which affect defecation and continence. Anorectal Manometry Study Components and Normal Values This session will describe the study components and normal values for anorectal evaluation. Demonstration of an Anorectal Manometry Study > Course Instructor: Jean Osborn, RN, BSN A live demonstration of High Resolution Anorectal Manometry. Waveform Analysis This session will review a normal study discussing waveform patterns and normal values. Monday (1:00 PM 5:00 PM) Anorectal Manometry Hands-On Session This hands-on session provides an opportunity to work with an experienced clinician on the setup, acquisition and analysis of the motility study. These sessions utilize live volunteer patients to round out the experience. Tuesday (8:00 AM 12:00 PM) Treatment of Anorectal Disorders This session covers the medical and surgical interventions for the treatment of fecal incontinence, constipation, obstructive defecation, and anal pain. Pudendal Nerve Latency Testing Basic overview of the principles and protocol of pudendal nerve latency testing Anorectal Manometry Hands On Session This hands-on session provides an opportunity to work with an experienced clinician on the setup, acquisition and analysis of the motility study. These sessions utilize live volunteer patients to round out the experience. Tuesday P.M. (1:00 PM 3:00 PM) Analysis of the Abnormal Study > Course Instructor: Dr. Matt Reveille In depth review of waveforms of abnormal patient studies. This is an interactive session with Dr. Reveille discussing how findings relate to the patient s symptoms and treatment.. Pelvic Floor Retraining > Course Instructor: Jean Osborn, RN, BSN Basic overview of the principals and protocol of pelvic muscle retraining for the patient with weak pelvic muscles and obstructive defecation. 6 Advanced Pelvic Floor 2-Day Course Anorectal Manometry Workshop with Case Review and Discussion This interactive workshop is designed for physicians and experienced Anorectal Manometry nurses. It will feature case studies of Anorectal Manometry with patient presentation, study findings and discussion of treatment options.
