2 HIGH SCHOOL MARCHING BAND & CONCERT BAND NATIONAL CHERRY BLOSSOM FESTIVAL as of: December 1, 2005 (subject to change) DAY ONE: Monday, April 9, 2007 SF Bay Area to Washington DC Morning: Arrive at Oakland or San Francisco International Airport at least 2.5 hours prior to departure Afternoon: Depart Oakland or San Francisco for Washington D.C. Evening: Arrive into Washington D.C. Area Airport (Dulles, Reagan or Baltimore). Meet your Tour Manager, load coach and transfer to hotel in Washington D.C. Arrive at hotel and check-in. DAY TWO: Tuesday, April 10, 2007 Washington D.C. (B,D) Transfer to the White House Visitor Center. Enjoy a tour of the White House (White House Tours must be arranged through s local congressman or senator). Afternoon: Lunch on own at the Old Post Office Shopping Center. Transfer to the Lincoln Memorial. PERFORMANCE for the Marching Band on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial (subject to approval from the US Capital Park Service). After the performance, there will be time to tour the nearby Vietnam, Korean and WW II War Memorials. Enjoy a night tour of Washington DC including stops at the Lincoln Memorial, Jefferson Memorial and Iwo Jima Memorial. You will also drive by the White House and the US Capitol Building.

3 DAY THREE: Wednesday, April 11, 2007 Washington D.C. (B,D) Enjoy a tour of the Bureau of Engraving. Afternoon: Transfer to the Smithsonian s National Air and Space Museum. Free time to enjoy the museum and have lunch on own. Transfer to Union Station. PERFORMANCE for the Concert Band as part of the National Cherry Blossom Festival s Concerts at Union Station (subject to successful audition). DAY FOUR: Thursday, April 12, 2007 Washington D.C. (B,D) Transfer to the National Mall. The morning is free to explore a Smithsonian Museum of your choice (possibilities could include the National Archives, the National Museum of American History, the National Museum of Natural History, the brand-new National Museum of the American Indian, the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum, the Freer Gallery of Art, etc.) Lunch on own. Afternoon: Transfer to the US Capitol Building. Enjoy a tour of the US Capitol (World Projects suggests that HS contact their local congressional representative to receive gallery passes for the group). PERFORMANCE for the Marching Band on the steps of the US Capitol (subject to approval from the US Capital Park Service). Attend a performance TBA (most likely the US Marine Band or the US Army Band).

4 DAY FIVE: Friday, April 13, 2007 Washington D.C. (B, D with hosts) Transfer to Arlington National Cemetery. Tour the Cemetery. Transfer to Alexandria s Old Town. Afternoon: Lunch and free time on own at Alexandria s Old Town. Transfer to local school. Exchange Rehearsal with local group (most likely the concert band). Evening: Enjoy a potluck dinner with hosts. Joint PERFORMANCE with local group. Return to hotel in Washington D.C. DAY SIX: Saturday, April 14, 2007 Washington D.C. (B,D) Morning: Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to staging site and get ready for the parade. PERFORMANCE as part the National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade (subject to audition). Afternoon: Free time on own to explore the Japanese Street Festival that follows the parade. Lunch on own. Evening: Enjoy a Farewell to DC Dinner Cruise along the Potomac River. DAY SEVEN: Sunday, April 15, 2007 Washington D.C. to SF Bay Area (B) Morning: Breakfast at hotel. Check-out of the hotel, load coach and transfer to airport TBA (Dulles, Reagan or Baltimore). Check-in for flight to SF Bay Area. TBD Depart for SF Bay Area Airport (San Francisco or Oakland. TBD Arrive into San Francisco International Airport or Oakland International Airport. WELCOME HOME!!
