1 CENTRIA SRS3 Structural Standing Seam Metal Roof Panels CENTRIA SRS3 Structural Standing Seam Metal Roof Panels are manufactured in many different coil coating systems and painted with a wide variety of manufacturer's standard colors plus an unlimited choice of custom colors. Basic coil materials are manufactured in galvanized steel, Galvalume coated steel, aluminum, Galvalume Plus, and a distinctive moderately reflective stainless steel. CENTRIA SRS2 Metal Roof Panels are available with a flat or embossedexterior surface. SRS3 panels have 3 inch (76 mm) high seams, with 12, 16, or 18 inch (305, 406, 457 mm) wide pans. Metal Roof Panel System: Metal roof panels with concealed attachment, [and supplemental framing members required for complete metal framing attachment system], thermal insulation, and accessories necessary for a complete watertight installation. 1.4 DEFINITIONS Specifier: C2C certification described in paragraph below is a comprehensive sustainability certification that transcends LEED requirements to address life cycle analysis of entire production cycle of building products. General: Provide metal roof panel system meeting performance requirements as determined by application of specified tests by a qualified testing agency on manufacturer's standard assemblies. B. Air Infiltration: Maximum cfm/sq. ft. (0.183 L/s per sq. m) per ASTM E 1680 at a staticair-pressure difference of 4 lbf/sq. ft. (191.5 Pa). C. Water Penetration Static Pressure: No uncontrolled water penetration at a static pressure of 6.4 lbf/sq. ft (306.4 Pa) when tested per ASTM E D. Structural Performance: Provide metal roof panel system capable of withstanding the effects of indicated loads and stresses within limits and under conditions indicated, per ASTM based on testing according to ASTM E 1592: Specifier: Consult structural engineer and edit below as required by local codes. Insert structural data below if not indicated on drawings. 1. Wind Loads: Determine loads based on uniform pressure, importance factor, exposure category, and basic wind speed indicated on drawings. 2. Snow Loads: As indicated on Drawings 3. Product data, including certified independent test data indicating compliance with requirements. b. Samples of each component. c. Sample submittal from similar project. d. Project references: Minimum of 5 installations not less than 5 years old, with Owner and Architect contact information. e. Sample warranty. 2. Substitutions following award of contract are not allowed except as stipulated in Division 01 "General Requirements." 3. Approved manufacturers must meet separate requirements of Submittals Article. C. Installer Qualifications: Experienced Installer with minimum of 5 years experience with successfully completed projects of a similar nature and scope. Specifier: Retain and edit subparagraph below if work of this Section is required to be installed by same Installer of a related product in another section. 1. Provide work installed by same Installer as Installer of products specified in Division [00] Section "[Insert Division number and Section name]." D. Fire Performance Characteristics: Provide metal roof panel system with the following fire-test characteristics. 1. Surface-Burning Characteristics: Provide metal roof panel system with the following characteristics when tested per ASTM E 84. a. Flame spread index: 25 or less. b. Fire Resistance Ratings: Provide metal roof panel system tested as part of a roof assembly listed in UL Fire Resistance Directory. 1.8 ADMINISTRATIVE REQUIREMENTS A. Preinstallation Meeting: Prior to erection of metal roof panel system, conduct preinstallation meeting at site attended by Owner, Architect, manufacturer's technical representative, inspection agency and related trade contractors. 1. Coordinate building framing in relation to metal roof panel system. 2. Coordinate openings and penetrations of metal roof panel system. 3. Coordinate work of Division 07 Sections "Roof Specialties" and "Roof Accessories" and roof openings and penetrations and manufacturer's accessories with installation of metal roof panels. 7 1.9 ACTION SUBMITTALS A. Product Data: Manufacturer s data sheets for specified products. Specifier: Retain and edit below to comply with Project requirements for LEED or other sustainable design requirements. B. LEED Submittals: 1. Credit SS 7.2: Product data indicating compliance with solar reflectance index requirement. 2. Credit MR 4: Product data indicating the following: a. Percentages by weight of post-consumer and pre-consumer recycled content. b. Total weight of products provided. c. Include statement indicating costs for each product having recycled content. C. Shop Drawings: Show layouts of metal roof panels. Include details of each condition of installation, panel profiles, and attachment to building. Provide details at a minimum scale 1-1/2-inch per foot of edge conditions, joints, fastener and sealant placement, flashings, penetrations, and special details. Make distinctions between factory and field assembled work. 1. Include data indicating compliance with performance requirements. 2. Indicate points of supporting structure that must coordinate with metal roof panel system installation. 3. Include structural data indicating compliance with performance requirements and requirements of local authorities having jurisdiction. D. Samples for Initial Selection: For each product specified including sealants and gaskets. Provide representative color charts of manufacturer's full range of colors. E. Provide 12-inch- (305 mm-) long pieces of trim INFORMATIONAL SUBMITTALS A. Product Test Reports: Indicating compliance of products with requirements, from a qualified independent testing agency, when requested by architect. Specifier: Include requirement for coordination drawings for complex installations or installations involving an unusual amount of coordination between separate installers. B. Coordination Drawings: Provide drawings of metal roof panel system coordinating the installation with structural framing, secondary framing, roof deck, penetrations, openings, and mechanical attachments. C. Cradle to Cradle Certification: Submit minimum of silver level Cradle to Cradle certification or a comparable independent sustainability audit acceptable to Owner that evaluates and validates materials, material reutilization/design for environment, energy use, water usage, and social responsibility of the product and manufacturing process. 1. Qualification Information: For Installer firm and Installer s field supervisor. F. Manufacturer's warranty: Submit sample warranty CLOSEOUT SUBMITTALS A. Maintenance data DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING A. Protect products of metal roof panel system during shipping, handling, and storage to prevent staining, denting, deterioration of components or other damage. Protect panels and trim bundles during shipping with water resistant paper. Protect painted surfaces with a strippable protective covering before shipping. 1. Deliver, unload, store, and erect metal roof panel system and accessory items without misshaping panels or exposing panels to surface damage from weather or construction operations. 2. Store in accordance with Manufacturer's written instruction. Provide wood collars for stacking and handling in the field WARRANTY Specifier: Warranty terms below are available from CENTRIA. Verify that other allowable manufacturers furnish warranty meeting requirements. A. Special Manufacturer s Warranty: On Manufacturer s standard form, in which Manufacturer agrees to repair or replace components of metal roof panel system that fail in materials and workmanship within [two] years from date of Substantial Completion. Aluminum-zinc alloycoated steel sheet, Galvalume, Galvalume Plus with a thin, clear acrylic topcoat, is also available and is recommended for uniform weathering when specified without an applied paint finish. Galvalume substrates are eligible for extended warranty from CENTRIA. G90 galvanized is available in 20, 22, and 24 gage sheet. Galvalume is available in 22 and 24 gage sheet. Galvalume Plus is available in 22 and 24 gage sheet. 1. Zinc Metallic Coated (Galvanized) Steel Sheet: ASTM A 653/A 653M, SS Grade 37, G90 (Z275), structural steel. 2. CENTRIA recommends the use of minimum 22 gage structural standing seam metal roof panels to achieve enhanced structural performance and optimum aesthetic appearance. 1. Structural Standing Seam Metal Roof Panels: Formed with 3 inch (76 mm) high vertical ribs at panel edges[ and evenly spaced raised longitudinal planks], manufactured for sequential installation by attaching panels to supports using concealed clips and engaging edges of adjacent panels and mechanically seaming panel ribs together, sealed with factory-applied sealant. 1. Side Lap Sealant: One part, non-skinning, non-drying, synthetic butyl elastomer sealant. 2. Field Applied Unexposed Sealant: Side Laps, end laps, and flashing details: Gun grade, nonskinning, butyl elastomer or polymeric non-skinning butyl tape. 3. Exposed Sealant: ASTM C 920; elastomeric polyurethane, polysulfide, or silicone sealant; of type, grade, class, and use classifications required to seal joints in metal roof panels and remain weathertight; as recommended by metal roof panel manufacturer colored to match panel color. D. Thermal Spacers at Purlins: Manufacturer's standard spacer. E. Pipe Flashings: Molded EPDM, with metal collar. F. Snow Guards: See Specifier Note Specifier: CENTRIA does not furnish snow guards. Systems utilizing non-piercing S-5! Clamps are recommended. 2.6 SECONDARY METAL FRAMING A. 13 PART 3 - EXECUTION 3.1 EXAMINATION A. Examine metal roof panel system substrate with Installer present. Inspect for erection tolerances and other conditions that would adversely affect installation of metal roof panel installation. Do not install roof panels until panel substrate meets roof panel manufacturer's requirements. 1. Inspect framing that will support metal roof panel system to determine if support components are installed as indicated on approved shop drawings. Confirm presence of acceptable framing members at recommended spacing to match installation requirements of metal roof panels. 2. Panel Support Tolerances: Install metal roof panels on substrate within tolerances acceptable to metal roof panel system manufacturer: 3.2 INSTALLATION a. Maximum out of plane deviation 1/4 inch in 20 feet (6 mm in 6.1 m). b. Maximum deviation 1/2 inch (12.7 mm) over entire roof. A. General: Install metal roof panel system in accordance with approved shop drawings and manufacturer's recommendations. Install metal roof panels in orientation, sizes, and locations indicated. Install metal roof panels in one piece lengths from the ridge to eave unless otherwise indicated on approved shop drawings. Anchor panels and other components securely in place. Provide for thermal and structural movement. B. Attach panels to metal framing using recommended clips, screws, fasteners, sealants, and adhesives indicated on approved shop drawings. 1. Fasten metal roof panels to supports with concealed clips at each joint at location, spacing, and with fasteners recommended by manufacturer. Install clips to supports with self-tapping fasteners approved by manufacturer. 2. Provide weatherproof escutcheons for pipe and conduit penetrating roof. 3. Dissimilar Materials: Where elements of metal wall panel system will come into contact with dissimilar materials, treat faces and edges in contact with dissimilar materials as recommended by manufacturer. C. Joint Sealers: Install joint sealers where indicated and where required for weatherproof performance of metal roof panel assemblies. 1. Prepare joints and apply sealants per requirements of Division 07 Section "Joint Sealants." 3.3 ACCESSORY INSTALLATION A. General: Install metal roof panel accessories with positive anchorage to building and weather tight mounting and provide for thermal expansion. Coordinate installation with flashings and other components. 1. Install related flashings and sheet metal trim per requirements of Division 07 Section "Sheet Metal Flashing and Trim." Page 13 of 14

14 2. Install components required for a complete metal roof panel assembly, including trim, copings, flashings, sealants, gaskets, fillers, closure strips, and similar items. 3. Comply with performance requirements, requirements of authorities having jurisdiction, and manufacturer's written installation instructions. 4. Provide concealed fasteners except where noted on approved shop drawings. 5. Set units true to line and level as indicated. Install work with laps, joints, and seams that will be permanently watertight and weather resistant. 3.4 FIELD QUALITY CONTROL A. Manufacturer's Field Service: Engage a service representative authorized by metal wall panel manufacturer to inspect completed installation. Submit written report. Correct deficiencies noted in report. 3.5 CLEANING AND PROTECTION A. Remove temporary protective films when directed by Architect. Clean finished surfaces as recommended by metal roof panel manufacturer. B. Replace damaged panels and accessories that cannot be repaired to the satisfaction of the Architect.
