Le materiel didactique des cours est disponibles en anglais, espagnol, allemand et italien. Il était destiné aux professionnels comme les serveurs, les guides touristiques, les agences de voyage et des réceptionnistes d'hôtel. Les promoteurs de ce projet étaient les suivants: l Université de Málaga - Espagne, l Université de SELÇUK - Turquie) et quatre institutions qui operent dans le domaine de la formation professionnelle: UET- Italie, AJT - Allemagne, ECBM - Royaume-Uni et ETC - Grèce. Les informations détaillées sur le projet et sur ses résultats peuvent être consultés sur le site suivant: Résumé: About 20 years ago a group of professionals from organisations of 6 European countries came together to create, for the tourism industry, an innovative general standard for L2 teaching and learning materials. The name of the project was ESB (co-financed by the EU), and the outcomes of the project were awarded with the EU Label in Some years later the ESB-Group, together with new partners, started the SLEST project, again in the field of tourism and co-financed by the EU. And also this time it was awarded with the EU Label in In the meantime, ESB and SLEST have been fused into the SLEST group (see also recently adding to it Turkey as a new partner country (right now the core group consists of partners from ES, DE, UK, IT, and TR). 20 years are a long time, things are changing rapidly, and the same is true for education, including language learning. E-learning, with the development of digital media and digital information transfer, storage and communication methods, and u(biquitous)-learning have been introduced. This learning environment is a situation or setting of pervasive or omnipresent education or learning = learning at any time and any place something which 20 years ago was virtually impossible, especially because of lack of tecnical possibilities. The student's access to education became even more flexible, personal and persistent, with the general possibility to remove many of the physical constraints of traditional learning. Times changed, so the SLEST group had to do the same. With this project we transferred existing SLEST courseware to ULE, updated and adapted some of the present SLEST materials for CEFR levels A2 and B1 (and, as far as needed, for B2) for different professions in tourism (hotel, travel agencies, restaurants, tour operators) creating E- and U-Learning Materials (ULM), which were defined as learning materials that may also have been transferred to mobile devices via cable or wireless and be operated in these mobile devices. These materials could be videos, audios, or any kind of learning materials. Furthermore we increased the number of partner countries by including Greece, so very important in the tourism sector in Europe. The technology enhanced learning which plays the leading role in our project came to meet important needs of the learners, as we were convinced that this was a major challenge in an information-rich world, in order to make L2-material available at the right time and in the right way to people who work in tourism, shifting in this way the classroom from a traditional to a non-traditional context. : What did SLEST 2.0 aim to achieve? - Establish and highlight an advanced 2

3 Information sur le projet Norme linguistique Européen des Professionnels de Tourisme 2.0 ( ES1- qualitative standard in L2 learning and teaching in the tourism sector - Adapt the learning objectives to the concrete language needs of professionals in tourism - Create comparability for the main European languages for specific purposes, directed at the needs of the users - Creation of the basics for optimal preparation for the SLEST examinations which were recognized by the SLEST partners - Establish a European Linguistic Standard for Professionals in Tourism, based on the indications contained in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages" The project's impact was considerable as we reached with our dissemination and exploitation actions more than possible users of our products Worldwide (see dissemination report for details), also thanks to the existing wide network of partners' relations. The dissemination of the project was extensive from the side of all partners. All partners in every country introduced the SLEST 2.0 project to the target groups the project aimed at. The project's main focus was the free use of e-/u-learning materials for individual study and practice of the languages DE, EN, ES, and IT for the four professions chosen. Hundreds of activities of direct dissemination took place from September 2013 to September 2015, and still on. Every opportunity of offering a talk was taken by any of the partners to introduce the project, outcomes and results (as it is widely described in the section "Events" of this database). In general terms, the partners talked about SLEST 2.0 in Italy, Germany, Turkey, United Kingdom, Spain, and Greece, but the partners took also international opportunities of introducing the project in the Arabian Emirates, China, Egypt, and even in the Republic of Congo! The piloting resulted in an effective dissemination tool as well. The created materials were tested, checked and adjusted with the help of professionals, students and stakeholders in tourism. The final step of the project before the end of the funding period was an international round table and multiplier seminar, to be held at the Faculty of Tourism of Malaga University on September 11th 2015, with the title "New Technological and Methodological Advances in the Teaching of Languages for Tourism: SLEST 2.0"; where L2 experts and professionals in tourism met to discuss modern methods in Language training and learning, with a special interest and focus on the SLEST 2.0 project. Regarding additional means for project promotion and dissemination, a number of them were implemented since its very inception, including social networks (Facebook +600 followers, Twitter, - as well as YouTube and Sound Cloud being used as materials repository), all of them accessible via the project website. The project team will consist of personnel from all project partners, quality control/assurance group (including three external evaluators), technical assistance group, and piloting group. The project manager will work with all resources to perform the project planning. All project details have been approved by the project members and the National Agency of Spain (OAPEE). Any important information or change in plans should be done in writing and be approved by both the project coordinator and promoter, and, if it is the case, by OAPEE. Team members from each organization will continue to report throughout the duration of the project to the project coordinator, who is responsible for communicating with the single partners on the progress and performance of each project resource. &prd=1 12

All members of the SLEST 2.0 project team will play a role in quality management. The purpose of this Quality Plan is to ensure the success of the project and evaluate the design and the implementation of the project by analysing its Relevance to objectives and to needs in different countries Efficiency in providing inputs promptly and at least cost Effectiveness in achieving planned results and project aims Sustainability over time, particularly after the inputs have all been provided and external support stops. All members of the SLEST 2.0 project team will play a role in quality management. The whole group is responsible for approving all quality standards for the project. The internal and external evaluators will review all project tasks and deliverables to ensure compliance with established and approved quality standards. Quality control for the SLEST 2.0 project will utilize tools and methodologies for ensuring that all project deliverables comply with approved quality standards.
