More specifically, SUMMIT II is designed to provide the incubator sector with the vocational training but especially the practical, everyday management tools needed to successfully design and operate business incubators and realize their in full their growth potential. Résumé: Description: SUMMIT II commenced on 1/1/2008 with the preparation of the first consortium meeting in Nicosia, Cyprus in accordance with the activities described in Work Package 7 (WP7) Project Management and Quality Control. The meeting was held on 18/02/2008 and it provided the opportunity to the consortium to establish face-to-face contact with all the representatives of the 7 partner organisations, while making clear each partner s role and responsibility in the project and the consortium s reporting obligations towards the. In the framework of WP7 additional meetings were held in order to facilitate the project coordination and for jointly taking decisions regarding the project development. A methodology was developed for collecting data on the Training Needs Analysis of Business Incubator Managers and staff in Cyprus, Greece, the Netherlands, France and Turkey. The survey was conducted by the partners based in these countries who also produced Country specific reports. SEERC then compiled all data and produced an overall TNA report. The report findings were taken into serious consideration for deciding the subject of the new training modules. Based on the TNA findings four modules were developed, while utilising the existing material from SUMMIT. The four modules are: 1. Introduction to Business Incubation 2. Business Incubator Management Consultancy 3. Innovation Financing and Tools 4. Developing and Evaluating Business Incubators. Mentoring New Partners: This WP aimed at making the transition from SUMMIT to SUMMIT II as smooth as possible for the new partners participating in the project. First Elements Euroconsultants Ltd together with Zernike provided their ongoing assistance to the new partners for utilising the lessons learnt from the first project and building on the existing training material for producing the new ones. This resulted to the quick integration of the new partners, the consistent development of the project deliverables and the smooth cooperation among the partners. The project s website was developed for incorporating the new training material in a user friendly and accessible manner. Work Two pilot testing workshops were organised in Ankara, Turkey and in Thessaloniki, Greece in order to inform the key stakeholders of the training material and to receive their feedback in order improve the final material according to their needs. The project s valorization strategy was developed within the first months of the project in order to provide guidelines and to set target and responsibilities for each partner regarding the dissemination and exploitation of the project results. Information material were also developed such as project leaflets and roll-ups used in conferences, seminars, the pilot training workshops and in every other event that was hosting key stakeholders. Furthermore, during the TNA survey the stakeholders who were interviewed and answered the questionnaires were informed of the expected deliverables in the end of the project, therefore anticipation was created for the new material. The closing event of the project in Cyprus was particularly successful in raising awareness on the importance of Business Incubators. Work The new modules were reviewed and accredited by STAREGISTER. To develop a user friendly online community so that the target audience accesses the training and information resources to further support sharing of knowledge and informal learning. Description: A requirement analysis was carried out and the design of the online platform was implemented. The technical analysis was also completed to be able to decide on the architecture of the technology platform. 3 models of web site structure and design examples were presented to partners by TAGES, and the consortium decided on one upon which the website was developed. A website user manual was produced by TAGES and distributed to partners. Online community framework discussions have been initiated. The new modules, the trainers guide, the power point presentations as well as the case studies were uploaded on the project website.
