Due to booming technology and IT phenomena, distant learning and e-employment are growing in an exponential manner. This field requires optimum production rate, which is combination of time and cost. The parameter is being the level of depth of the output detail. Considering the current globalization and market conditions and resulting competition in almost all different fields of service sectors which can all be worked out and submitted virtually, that is, worker is not necessarily be moved to job site or employee s premises. These tasks are also strongly personal time, knowledge and effort oriented. Hence, these kinds of fields are very well suitable for home based employment. However, although disabled people with mobility limitation are the most suitable part of the population which confirms to this new trend from the most aspects while forming more than 10% of European population, there is not a real development targeting this group in this new field of training and employment. Hence, the philosophy of this project is the verification of employment channels where someone can talk about an advantage of being disabled in this unique virtual business channel(s). AIMS: This project aims to develop/enhance a two-stage training program for computer oriented disabled people on CADD, Graphics, Web design, MS Office and establish an e- platform which will serve those people to work as a freelance, self-employed or entrepreneur from their home based offices ( virtual assistants ). This two-stage training will cover: 1. Training on how to become a virtual assistant, that is learning the general principles of home office business and how to work as self-employed (or as virtual assistants ) in general, 2. Training on specific service fields: CADD, Graphics Design, Web design, Office (word, excel processing) The idea behind this future efforts is basically to improve the skills and competencies of computer and technical oriented disabled people to train the individual to produce better and competitive outputs in project fields which covers almost 30% of technical based services. Description: This project aims to enhance e-training program for computer oriented disabled people on graphics, Web design, MS Office and enhance the e-platform which serves those people to work as a freelance, self-employed or entrepreneur from their home based offices (general name: virtual assistants ). This e-training covers: 1. Training on how to become a virtual assistant, that is learning the general principles of home office business and how to work as self-employed (or as virtual assistants ) in general, 2. Training on specific service fields: a/ CADD - Computer aided drafting detailing, b/ Graphics, c/ Web-design, d/ Office tools. The idea behind this future efforts is basically to improve the skills and competencies of computer and technical oriented disabled people to train the individual to produce better and competitive outputs in drafting, graphics and Web design fields which covers almost 40% of design and engineering activities in 2

3 Information sur le projet e-learning Virtual Center for People with Physical Disabilities ( RO1-LEO05- architectural, civil, mechanical and electrical fields of engineering design projects, Web developments and presentations, which are most vital and essential parts of any engineering, commercial design and presentation activities. Office support positions are also widely used, thus increasing the necessity of proficiency and high competencies in Office tools using capabilities. As this overall activity requires continuous training both in e-environment being the gateway to the e-employment, computer hardware and software as well as related technical disciplines, the quality of output is directly a function of continuous vocational training which is a very significant and extremely important but implicitly integrated part of the project. This vital part will be accessed via the e-employment PEDVA.net and it will refresh itself by means of continuing inputs from users, that are disabled virtual assistants. This unique structure of integrated training and employment which will renew and improve itself further continuously serving both vocational training and employment of disabled people in this few specific activity fields will be a new e-learning model (VET e-center) and guidance for other similar fields. e-life will therefore contribute to LLL targets of improving the participation rate of disabled people in VET and their integration into mainstream provision so helping them achieve learning outcomes that will enhance their employability and improve their ability to compete in the job-market.
