1 IDEXX Crnerstne * Practice Management Sftware Crnerstne* 8.4 NEXT (v ) Release Ntes Befre yu upgrade Check yur cmputer specificatins t get the mst ut f this release. Fr wrkstatins and peer-t-peer servers, we recmmend a cmputer less than 5 years ld with 4 GB f memry running the Windws * 7 Prfessinal (r later) perating system. Fr mre infrmatin, including details n dedicated servers and thin-client wrkstatins, please see the Hardware and Operating System Guidelines. Additinal enhancements and updates begin n page 2 f these release ntes. IDEXX SmartOrder* inventry slutin A secnd nline vendr Pattersn Veterinary* eshelf* is nw available. After yu set up the cnnectin in the Crnerstne sftware, yu can place rders electrnically. See the Electrnic Inventry Ordering sectin f the Help fr mre infrmatin. The Unmatched Order windw is nw named the Orphan Order windw. Digital imaging Everything related t diagnstic imaging (x-ray r DICOM* images, fr example) is nw managed in the IDEXX-PACS* Imaging Sftware (the IDEXX picture archiving and cmmunicatin system). All ther images (scanned-in dcuments r pet pictures, fr example) are managed in the Crnerstne sftware. In earlier versins f the Crnerstne sftware (thrugh Crnerstne* 8.3 NEXT), the IDEXX-PACS sftware was part f the Crnerstne applicatin. After yur practice upgrades Crnerstne t versin 8.4 NEXT and IDEXX-PACS t versin 4.1, all future upgrades will be separate, meaning that when there is a new release f the Crnerstne sftware yu will upgrade nly Crnerstne, and when there is a new release f the IDEXX-PACS sftware, yu will upgrade nly IDEXX-PACS. This allws yu t benefit frm new features in the IDEXX-PACS sftware withut waiting fr a Crnerstne release, and vice versa. Yu can save an image as a.png file. IDEXX Reference Labratries rdering Enhancements have been made fr IDEXX Reference Labratries test requests. New functinality includes: Advanced search f the IDEXX Directry f Services Autmatic update f the IDEXX Directry f Services Availability in the United States, Canada, and Australia Updated specimen detail entry Updated emplyee identificatin fr IDEXX discunts Imprvements t results imprting fr accurate patient recrd matching

2 Crnerstne* 8.4 NEXT (v ) Release Ntes General Appintment Scheduler Select the Prefix required check bx in the Appintment Scheduler default settings windw t require that a prefix be entered t save the appintment. Signature capture Yu can quickly set up a tuch-screen cmputer r device as a signature-capture device (Tls > Signature Capture Device). Invice item special actins Click the new Delete buttn n the Special Actins tab in the Invice Item Infrmatin windw t easily delete a special actin. Referrals When yu add r update phne infrmatin fr referral dctrs and hspitals, yu can right-click t create a new number, update a number, r delete a number. Medical ntes In the Dcuments default settings windw, select r clear the Print dcument infrmatin when printing medical ntes check bx t cntrl whether the Print dcument infrmatin check bx is selected by default when yu print. Yu can change this setting when yu print a dcument. Additinal updates and enhancements Inventry When yu create r edit a purchase rder, yu can update the descriptin fr an invice item ID with a setting f Miscellaneus. The updated descriptin des nt change the invice item ID, but will be visible when yu view r receive that rder. Yu can scan r type barcdes n purchase rders and receipts. In the Purchase Order List windw: Orders frm the first date in the date range are listed. If yu view an rder and clse it withut saving, the date is nt changed. Yu can srt by vendr name. In the Purchase Order windw: Yu can nw use the TAB key t mve frm field t field in the grid; yu n lnger have t click in each field. Yu can save a purchase rder as a.txt file when yu exprt it. The Receive Order windw accessed frm Receipt List has been updated t match the Receive Purchase Order windw accessed frm the Purchase Order List. In the Receive Order windw, runded-up invice item prices are nw runded crrectly. In the Receive Purchase Order windw, the fllwing changes were made: When yu receive an rder and create a new receipt number, yu can edit the Shipping and Tax fields. Yu can chse an pen purchase rder when editing r viewing a saved but nt psted receipt. When yu are receiving a secnd rder fr a vendr, the page refreshes. Australia nly: When yu receive the rder, the gds and services tax is crrectly calculated and added. Yu can edit the tax amunt if necessary. The Tax, Ttal Tax, and Ttal fields display the crrect amunt when the quantity received exceeds the riginal quantity n the rder. Australia nly: When yu receive an rder fr which yu changed the unit f measure when placing the rder, the new unit f measure is n the receipt. In the Receipt Item Details windw, yu can n lnger inadvertently pst an rder withut cmpleting the infrmatin; previusly, the rder wuld pst if yu pressed the SPACEBAR while in the Lt Number field. In the Inventry Add windw, if yur Crnerstne sftware is set t autmatically increment invice item IDs, when yu add a new item, the next available ID appears in the invice item field. In the Add a New Vendr windw, if yu select the Inactive check bx, the vendr is added crrectly as an inactive vendr. In the Internal Stck Use windw, yu can press the TAB key t advance t the Qty field. When yu pen the Sales Histry windw frm the Purchasing Wrk List windw, each mnth is displayed nly nce instead f twice. 2

3 Crnerstne* 8.4 NEXT (v ) Release Ntes In the Print Receipt windw, items with special prices are displayed with an asterisk (*) in the Special clumn. Multi-Lcatin/Single Database nly: If yu have multiple lcatins and lcatin grups, and the Delete want items n cmpleted check bx is selected in yur inventry default settings, rdering a want list item fr a specific lcatin grup n lnger deletes it frm ther lcatin grups. Yu can successfully enrll a secndary practice; the apprpriate fields are shwn in the Practice Infrmatin windw. If yu have a lcatin grup linked t a practice, when yu print a purchase rder, the practice name and address fr the practice linked t the lcatin grup are printed at the tp f the rder. Yu can print the purchase rder frm the Purchase Order List windw r the Edit Purchase Order windw. If yu change which practice is the primary practice, the riginal practice infrmatin is retained. In the View Quantity n Hand windw, the ttal cst is displayed crrectly when an item is received fr the secnd time t the default lcatin. When yu cnfirm a transfer in the Stck Transfer List windw, the windw n lnger freezes. IDEXX SmartOrder* inventry slutin The fllwing changes were made t rphan (unmatched) rders: In the Purchase Order List windw, the Unmatched Orders area is nw named the Orphan Orders area, and rders are listed individually. The Unmatched Orders windw is named Orphan Purchase Orders. In the Orphan Purchase Order windw, yu n lnger receive an errr when yu delete a duplicate purchase rder. Yu can recncile duplicate items n an rphan/unmatched rder s the rder can be recnciled. When yu create a purchase rder frm the Orphan Purchase Order windw, the status f the rder is Created frm rphan. Negative transactins frm nline vendrs are nt displayed in the Orphan (Unmatched) Purchase Order windw. Multi-Lcatin/Single Database nly: Orphan/unmatched rders are visible t all practices, regardless f nline vendr accunt. The default srt date rder is descending (mst recent first). An invice item prelinked with an invalid vendr item ID can be linked with anther vendr item ID frm the suggested list. Yu n lnger have t manually remve the ld vendr item ID frm the invice item befre adding the new ne. The Crnerstne sftware remves spaces frm vendr item IDs fr nline vendrs. In the Purchase Order List windw, yu n lnger receive a message fr each unlinked item. The unlinked items are still highlighted in yellw. When yu place an nline rder, the Crnerstne purchase rder number appears n the vendr s invice; the purchase rder number has a prefix f C. Links fr viewing tracking/shipping infrmatin are n the right side f the View Purchase Order windw. Yu can n lnger edit items n a purchase rder with a status f Sent-Online. In the Purchase Order List windw, when yu receive items and pst a receipt, the items shw the crrect date in the Last Purchase Date clumn n the Inventry Cst Reprt. When yu add an item t a purchase rder, yu can view the item s infrmatin n the Item histry, Item infrmatin, and Stck lcatin (when applicable) tabs. MWI* Veterinary Supply nly: Yu are ntified when a Crnerstne invice item ID has been marked as nn-purchasable by MWI. Yu can then link the Crnerstne invice item ID t a different vendr item ID s that yu can place the rder successfully. 3

4 Crnerstne* 8.4 NEXT (v ) Release Ntes Nn-purchasable items n lnger appear in the list f suggested items when matching invice item IDs t vendr IDs. Yu can change yur custmer number withut disabling and enabling the service. When yu add MWI items t an rder frm the Purchasing Wrk List windw, price breaks are crrectly applied. If yu place an rder and receive a message saying the rder cannt be placed nline, and then send the rder ffline, the ffline rder des nt appear n the MWI website. Referrals Reprts Labratry The referring dctr infrmatin n the Patient Infrmatin tab in the Patient Clipbard* n lnger shws the referring dctr s phne number. In the Patient Clipbard, n the RDVMs tab, the fllwing changes were made: Duplicate and extra phne numbers are n lnger displayed n the tab. The crrect referral dctr is listed as the primary. An incrrect dctr is n lnger entered fr hspitals that dn t have assciated dctrs. On the Referral tab in the Patient windw, nly the dctrs assciated with the selected hspital are listed under RDVM. Yu can nw successfully delete a newly created patient recrd that includes a referral dctr. When yu are creating the Staff Cmmissin Detail Reprt, when yu press F2 in the Item Classificatin Desc and Item ID fields, the list f items t chse frm appears. When yu check ut a patient frm an invice r the Census List windw, the secndary reasn fr visit is saved t census histry and appears n the Patient Census Reprt. Imprved perfrmance f custm client and patient reprts. On the Patient Census Reprt, yu can include a range fr checked-in practices. The Inventry Cst Reprt generated during end-f-year prcessing shws the crrect average cst and ttal cst. In the fllwing reprts, the revenue amunt is n lnger dubled; previusly, a single check-in was being cunted as tw visits. Referral Revenue by Revenue Center Hspital by Dctr Referral Summary by Revenue Center Hspital by Dctr Multi-Lcatin/Single Database nly: The Appintments Reprt is created regardless f which practice is set as the primary practice. The SDMA kidney test (3638) is nw included n all rutine IDEXX Reference Labratries prfiles. IDEXX Reference Labratries supprts new specimen cllectin cmments and additinal fecal antigen testing (cming sn). The client s primary phne number is included n labratry result printuts. In the Detailed Lab Result Set windw, the default brwser is used t display the VetCnnect PLUS Lab Results tab. If the Lab Reprt PDF cntaining preliminary results is in use when the final results cme in, the PDF is verwritten with the new results. The HESKA Element POC* Bld Gas & Electrlyte Analyzer and the HESKA Element HT5 Hematlgy Analyzer are supprted in the Crnerstne sftware. IDEXX VetLab* Statin: A new SNAP* test fr leptspirsis is available. It appears as SNAP Lept n the IDEXX VetLab* Statin. Yu can run it with the SNAP Pr* Mbile Device r as a manual SNAP test. 4

When viewing results fr a fructsamine (FRU) test, the cmments are displayed crrectly. Yu can create a callback frm the Detailed Lab Result Set windw. Test cdes 3104, 2245, and 3198 individual results are displayed in their wn templates instead f under ther templates. IDEXX Reference Labratries (U.S.): Reference labratry results are nw matched t the tp level f the prfile, preventing Nt Requested results and unreslved Pending Requests when subprfiles change. The fllwing new allergy tests are available: 3478 Canine 34781, MOLD/MITES, Immunlgy 34782, GRASSES, Immunlgy 34783, WEEDS, Immunlgy 34784, TREES, Immunlgy 3479 Equine 34791, GRASSES, Immunlgy 34792, WEEDS, Immunlgy 34793, TREES, Immunlgy 34794, MITES, Immunlgy 34795, INSECTS, Immunlgy 34796, MOLDS, Immunlgy Test 3131 replaces test 313 fr the fllwing prfiles: 3053, Marine Mammal Prfile with Irn and Reticulcytes , Custm Prfile 103 with Irn and Reticulcytes Standard CBC 51, HealthChek* Prfile with LDH and PT , HealthChek with LDH and PT- Standard CBC 320, Custm Cmprehensive CBC , Custm Standard CBC 2 Imprted patient names that include duble qutatin marks are prcessed crrectly. IDEXX Canada Reference Labratries: Chemistry and uric acid (UA) cdes have been merged fr Canada East and West. The merged cdes are prperly imprted fr IDEXX Canada West users. Hematlgy test names have been updated. IDEXX Australia Reference Labratries: The Directry f Services was updated. Digital imaging Telemedicine and DICOM features Cases cntaining large image studies (ver 150 images) r multiple image studies can nw be sent successfully t the telemedicine prvider. A defect was crrected that caused DICOM files t always identify the sex f the assciated patient as altered. Nw the patient sex in the DICOM file matches the value specified in the imaging sftware. Temprary telemedicine and DICOM files are nw deleted after 24 hurs t free disk space. Practice management system integratin A defect was crrected that smetimes prevented images frm the IDEXX-CR* 1417 Digital Imaging System frm being saved in the Crnerstne database. Fr systems using mdality wrk list integratin, changes t the MPPS prt number are nw crrectly applied. Previusly, the default prt number was always used. The Imaging Requests and Results windw pens prperly. Upgrading yur server n lnger causes an errr when yu pen the Image Requests and Results windw. 5

View images wherever yu have Internet access at wrk, at hme, r in the field. Restre images easily in the event f natural disaster r system failure. T learn mre, cntact yur IDEXX representative. Yu can nw scrll thrugh imprted bitmap images befre saving them t the patient recrd. Previusly, attempting t scrll thrugh the unsaved images generated an errr message. IDEXX I-Visin Mbile* applicatin: The flip and rtate gestures nw wrk crrectly n an ipad mbile device with the ios* 7 and ios* 8 perating systems. Images can be successfully ed frm the mbile applicatin. Images in the DICOM drp flder that have an invalid r missing date f birth can be imprted successfully int Crnerstne sftware. Images are nw identified by a glbally unique instance ID. The unique ID eliminates the pssibility that an image sent t anther system culd be interpreted as a duplicate f an image n that system. General In the Practice Infrmatin windw, yu can add r update multiple lgins withut saving each ne. In additin, fr nline vendrs, the Test buttn is nw named Validate Accunt. The fllwing changes were made t the Electrnic Whitebard windws: If yu create a nn-billable patient rder and cmplete it, yu can und the cmpleted actin. If yu are using a secnd mnitr and filter by a specific area, the filter is retained when the windw autmatically refreshes. The fllwing changes were made t the Client Infrmatin windw: On the Prmpts/Ntes tab, adding a nte t the client infrmatin area and pressing the TAB key n lnger generates an errr. When yu are lgged in as an administratr and yu add a new client, yu n lnger receive an errr when yu add a client discunt n the A/R tab. The drug, veterinary, and medical lists in the spelling checker have been updated. When yu refill a prescriptin n an invice, the crrect quantity is saved and verified. When yu track quantity n hand fr a prescriptin item and yu add it t an invice r the Patient Visit List, yu are warned when yu enter a quantity that desn t match. Yu must manually crrect the amunt t verify and pst the invice. An errr message stating This recrd has already been created by anther user that smetimes ccurred when transferring items frm the Patient Visit List t an invice and saving the invice n lnger ccurs. A staff ID is required t save an addendum t finalized crrespndence and medical ntes fr all wrk flws. Fr practices using the Windws Internet Explrer* 11 web brwser, a prblem where certain windws culd clse unexpectedly n lnger ccurs. When saving a medical nte, a message that a flder culd nt be created n lnger ccurs. The Web Links menu includes links fr Pet Health Netwrk* and Pet Health Netwrk* 3D. When yu change the date frmat fr a server r wrkstatin in Windws, the frmat is retained acrss all windws in the sftware. Deleting blank lines in a crrespndence dcument n lnger causes the Crnerstne sftware t crash. Cubex*: When a prblem with Cubex prevents Census List recrds frm being transmitted, they are crrectly transmitted when the prblem is reslved. Mbile cmputing: When yu add a prblem t a medical nte, syncing ccurs crrectly. It n lnger creates either an exceptin reprt r a duplicate ID that yu can t delete. In the Imaging default settings (at a wrkstatin r n the server), if yu change the maximum number f image files t a value less than the number f files in the Cstne\Images flder, the Crnerstne sftware n lnger creates a new images flder. 6

When yu enter a client address n a mbile cmputer, it is retained when the cmputer is synchrnized. When using the change given field n an invice: Synchrnizing is successful when a client has a nn-zer balance. The client balance is crrect when a client has a zer balance. Fr credit card transactins that are psted by capturing the signature, the signature icn displays crrectly n the Accunt infrmatin tab in the Patient Clipbard. Fr signed estimates, the signature icn is displayed n the Estimates tab after unding the mbile cmputer. If yu take a payment n a clsed invice n a mbile cmputer, the payment transfers t the live database when yu synchrnize. Reprts search wrks crrectly n mbile cmputers.
