Prerequisites Business Functin Yu have activated the fllwing business functins: Master Data Gvernance, Generic Functins (MDG_FOUNDATION) Master Data Gvernance, Generic Functins 2 (MDG_FOUNDATION_2) Master Data Gvernance, Generic Functins 3 (MDG_FOUNDATION_3) Master Data Gvernance, Generic Functins 7.0 (MDG_FOUNDATION_4) Master Data Gvernance, Generic Functins 7.0 Feature Set (MDG_FOUNDATION_5) Befre yu activate the business functins, ensure that yu have the administratin authrizatin fr MDG. The required authrizatin bjects are delivered with the authrizatin rle SAP_MDG_ADMIN. In transactin PFCG, we recmmend creating a cpy f this rle and assigning the relevant authrizatin values. Fr the authrizatin bject USMD_DM Data Mdel yu need t assign the values fr the authrizatin field USMD_MODEL Data Mdel (fr example U1) and the values fr the authrizatin activity ACTVT Activity (fr example 01: Create r generate, r 02: Change). Functinal Lcatin Alternative Labeling Verify that Functinal Lcatin Alternative Labeling is in the status that yu require. 1. Inactive (status 1). Transactin cde is OIPU. If it is active, it can be set back t inactive, if s desired. T activate the wrkflw features, use the semi-autmated cnfiguratin in transactin SWU3. Nte the fllwing when maintaining the settings: When cnfiguring the RFC destinatin yu need superuser authrizatin t create the default WF-BATCH user. Regenerate the authrizatin prfile fr SAP_ALL r include the USMD* authrizatin bjects int the authrizatins f the user WF-Batch. Fr the Check Entries frm HR Cntrl Tables sectin yu may need t execute reprt RHSOBJCH in transactin SE38 and keep the default settings. Maintain the prefix numbers fr the standard bjects. Yu d nt need t maintain the Web Server nde and Guided Prcedures sectin. Set Up Search This release f Utpia EAM Slutins fr MDG uses the standard MDG database search. The database search is already enabled within the MDG System. N further set up actin is required. Adjust Prfile Parameters Ensure that the prfile parameter size fr the Shared Objects Memry is crrect. T check this setting run transactin RZ11 and verify that the value fr parameter abap/shared_bjects_size_mb is at least 300 megabytes. If yu want t use the SAP NetWeaver Business Client with single sign n (SSO), ensure that the parameters lgin/create_ss2_ticket (2) and lgin/accept_ss2_ticket (1) are set crrectly. Use transactin RZ11 t check that the hst name is fully qualified fr parameter icm/hst_name_full. User Rles In rder t successfully cnduct the next steps in the cnfiguratin prcess, yu must have the fllwing user rles assigned in the PFCG transactin: SAP_MDGA_MENU Master Data Gvernance: Analytics SAP_MDG_ADMIN Master Data Gvernance: Administratr This rle cntains authrizatins fr basic tasks relevant t the cnfiguratin and administratin f SAP Master Data Gvernance (MDG) fr all dmains. If yu have multiple users invlved in the cnfiguratin and administratin f MDG cntent, we recmmend yu split this rle int several new rles and give each new rle a subset f the authrizatins fr this rle. Such an apprach ensures users nly cmplete tasks they are respnsible fr and reduces the risk f critical errrs. GenIL (Generic Interactin Layer) Cmpnent Adjustments A New GenIL Cmpnent is added fr the uequip, ufloc and umbom bjects. Check fr the Cmpnent /UGI/1 in the tcde GENIL_MODEL_BROWSER in display mde, t make sure the Cmpnent is present and shws n errrs. Ensure that the Data Mdel U1 is the Standard Data Mdel fr the Persnalizatin parameters R_FMDM_MODEL. Use T-cde SPERS_MAINT r persnalizatin fr UserID (T-Cde SU01) t check the parameter. If it is nt the default, enter U1 as the default and Save. 10 1 Activate the Data Mdel U1 1. Check whether yu can use the data mdel delivered by SAP and Utpia fr managing yur EAM data with MDG fr EAM. Activate the delivered data mdel U1 in Custmizing fr Master Data Gvernance under General Settings Data Mdeling Edit Data Mdel. When upgrading t MDG 7.0 check that the active and inactive versins f yur data mdels are the same. Changes t the data mdels, nt dependent n business functin switches, may ccur due t crrectins made by SAP. Yu shuld check and activate all mdels after the upgrade t MDG7.0 is cmplete. T d this navigate t Master Data Gvernance General Settings Data Mdeling Edit Data Mdel and activate any data mdels that have the entry Different in the clumn Active Versin. After activatin r if the status is Same in the clumn Active Versin, yu have t trigger the jb t adjust the data mdel. Mark the line with U1 data mdel and press the crrespnding icn t trigger the jb. 2. Assign an internal key. T supprt internal key assignment, run the activity in Custmizing fr Master Data Gvernance under General Settings Data Mdeling Define Prefixes fr Internal Key Assignment. In MDG fr EAM, authrizatins cannt be defined here. Instead, the existing backend authrizatins are reused. Fr mre infrmatin, see Custmizing under Plant Maintenance and Custmer Service Basic Settings Maintain Authrizatins fr Master Data. 3. Check r Generate Data Mdel-Specific Structures Fllwing the activatin f the U1 Data Mdel yu will als need t activate the EAM Data Mdel-Specific structures. T check this run the activity in custmizing fr Master Data Gvernance under General Settings Data Mdeling Generate Data Mdel- Specific Structures. Select the U1 data mdel and duble-click n Data Mdels Structures The structures are delivered with the sftware. If yu receive a dialg bx with a message that Custmer bject TABL CI* cannt be assigned t package /UGI/MDG_EAM_GLOBAL, select the check mark ( ) and enter yur chsen package ID in place f the /UGI/MDG_EAM_GLOBAL value in the dev class field. This rle ensures that the necessary steps can be started withut using the SAP NetWeaver Prtal. This can be used fr testing r if the prtal is inactive. 2. Assign and persnalize the rle /UGI/_MDGEAM_ALLUSR t yur users. In the rle /UGI/_MDGEAM_ALLUSR n the Persnalizatin tab, edit the Persnalizatin Key SAP Master Data Gvernance (R_FMDM_MODEL): Define the default mdel U1 and the related UI cnfiguratin. 3. Verify the setting f the authrizatin bjects within the rles and restrict them if required. 4. On the SAP Easy Access screen, chse Tls Administratin User Maintenance Users. Run transactin SU01 (User Maintenance) and assign the Master Data Gvernance fr EAM: All Users (/UGI/_MDGEAM_ALLUSR) fr applicatin t the MDG user. Repeat these steps t assign additinal authrizatin rles t yur users. 13 Final Steps SAP and Utpia recmmend regenerating the data mdel again at the end f these setup steps t ensure clear cde generatin. Befre yu can run all Master Data Gvernance prcesses like Create Equipment, yu need t assign the data mdel U1 t yur user. Alternatively, the user administratr can maintain the fllwing Persnalizatin Parameter fr yur user prfile: SAP Master Data Gvernance R_FMDM_MODEL. If there are ther data mdels active in yur system, such as Financials (0G), Material Master (MM), r Business Partner/Custmer/Supplier (BP) additinal entries may appear in this list. 36 14 Wrkflw Templates fr Utpia EAM Slutins fr MDG The fllwing wrkflw template is available fr Utpia EAM Slutins fr MDG Wrkflw Template WS Utpia delivers the SAP standard wrkflw template WS fr the apprval prcess. This enables yu t frward the change request as a wrk item t the apprpriate prcessrs. The status f the change request is autmatically updated in the backgrund. This wrkflw template cnsists f the fllwing steps: 1. Start wrkflw The wrkflw is started when a change request is created by the user, fr example, a Plant Maintenance Technician.. 2. Execute changes The master data specialist receives a wrk item t execute the changes:. If they d nt want t execute the changes, they can send the change request back t the maintenance technician. In this case, a wrk item with the change request is sent t the maintenance technician fr revisin ( --> Step 3) If they want t execute the changes, the changes made t the master data are then checked (--> Step 4). 3. Revisin after rejectin The persn respnsible fr prcessing the change request when it is rejected, such as the plant maintenance technician, decides whether t revise the change request: If (s)he revises the change request, a wrk item with the change request is again sent t the master data specialist fr prcessing ( Step 2). If s(he) withdraws the change request, the status f the change request is set t Final Check Rejected. If changes have already been made t the master data, these are reset and the wrkflw ends ( Step 6). 4. Perfrm final check The system checks the change request, using validatin rules fr Cnsistency, and saves the check results in a lg. The master data steward receives a wrk item t d a final check f the change request. They check the validatin results in the lg and either apprve r reject the final check: If they reject the change request, a wrk item with the change request is sent back fr revisin t the maintenance technician ( Step 3). Activate changes The system activates the master data in the database tables f the mdified bjects accrding t the changes entered in step 4. The changes are then activated in the central system. When the wrkflw has been cmpleted, if DRF is enabled in cncert with ALE, the system will then send the changes t the target system(s). Manual replicatin is als available if desired. 6. End wrkflw The system ends the wrkflw. 15 Activate Alternate Labeling Activate Alternative Labeling using again transactin OIPU. A cnversin prgram is started.
