The final thesis manuscript was accepted by the Graduate College at WMU in December Teaching Assistant PSY 460 Survey of Behavior Analysis Research (September 2000 April 2001) Responsibilities included attending classes and taking notes, holding assistant hours that served as open study sessions for undergraduate students with questions concerning exams, aiding in the administering of exams, grading undergraduate level exams, teaching PSY 460 when necessary, and generating exam questions to cover any lectures I had given. Research Assistant (May December 1999) Served as a research assistant for a doctoral student at Western Michigan University. Responsibilities included screening participants, scheduling and attending experimental sessions, paying participants, recording data, and debriefing. Teaching Assistant PSY 460 Survey of Behavior Analysis Research (September 1998 April 1999) Served as an undergraduate teaching assistant for PSY 460. Responsibilities included attending class and taking notes, holding assistant hours that served as open study sessions for students with questions concerning the exams, aiding in the administering of exams, and grading the exams. Research Assistant (January April 1998) Served as an undergraduate research assistant to a graduate student on a project involving Off-Task behaviors exhibited by autistic/pre-primary impaired children in a school setting. Responsibilities for this research included acting as primary observer and data collector of occurrences of Off-Task behaviors, compiling and graphing student data, presenting data to school staff members, creating an Off-Task data collection job aid for the tutors working with the children, and fashioning a student profile form. Using the information gained from the tutors completion of the profiles, I generated a printed profile for each student. Research Assistant (September December 1997) Served as an undergraduate research assistant to a fellow undergraduate working on a practicum project in I/O Psychology. The purpose of the project was to investigate the effects of feedback and praise on the staff at a center for the developmentally disabled. Responsibilities included data collection 2-3 times each week for reliability purposes. PROFESSIONAL WORK EXPERIENCE Organizational Behavior Management Network (2009 present) Currently serving as Executive Director of the professional networking organization, the Organizational Behavior Management Network (OBMN). OBMN serves over 300 members, comprising practitioners, academics, and students. Responsibilities include supervising graduate and undergraduate student officers in a variety of roles, including but not limited to newsletter development, event planning, member coordination, website management, and treasurer; strategic planning; conference planning and implementation; and growing the membership. Performance Blueprints (2003 present) Co-founded and serve as a behavior systems analyst for a performance improvement consulting firm developing and applying systems analysis tools, concepts and technology to help organizations (1) identify root causes of performance issues; (2) align organizational systems and processes to maximize operational efficiencies; (3) specify, design and implement customized, maintainable performance improvement solutions.
3 3 Pathways Community Mental Health ( ) Led a group of seven Master s and Ph.D. student consultants through behavioral systems analysis consulting and workshop development for Pathways Community Mental Health (CMH) and NorthCare Network. NorthCare Network is an affiliation comprised of the five Michigan Upper Peninsula Community Mental Health Centers. Pathways CMH is the lead agency in this affiliation. The Perrigo Company (January July 2005) Operated as a performance analyst for manufacturing and packaging operations with The Perrigo Company. Perrigo is the country s largest producer of the Over-the-Counter (OTC) store brand pharmaceuticals. Responsibilities included utilizing behavior analysis and Lean Sigma tools to analyze human performance to determine root causes of performance issues, developing and implementing performance improvement solutions based on root cause analyses, assisting in the development of a controlled training system, and analyzing and improving organizational and process level variables that ultimately affect human performance within the organization. Esch Consultants (May - June 2003) Developed an accountability system including roles, responsibilities, and performance evaluations to be used by therapists, behavior analysts, teachers, and administrators in a school for children diagnosed on the autism spectrum. Geriatric Assessment Center (January April 2003) Conducted an efficiency study at the Geriatric Assessment Center of the Unified Clinics at Western Michigan University. The study included a formal systems analysis of the Center at the organizational, process, and job levels to determine ways in which the Center could save money, serve more clients, increase learning opportunities for students, and develop feedback systems that would allow for continuous improvements in the provision of services to geriatric clients, their families, care providers, and students. Foundation for Behavioral Resources (January April 2001) Conducted a formal systems analysis of a division of the Foundation that provides services to senior citizens. The analyses performed included a strategic plan analysis, organizational design analysis, and process analyses. Suggestions for improvements were outlined and presented. Knowledge Mechanics (September 2000 April 2001) Interned at an e-learning software and service solutions company. Responsibilities during the Fall 2000 semester were those of an instructional designer and included writing, testing, and revising computer-based instructional materials for Knowledge Mechanics clients. Responsibilities during the Winter 2001 semester included assisting in the development and delivery of consulting and training services to Knowledge Mechanics customer base. Lakeland Regional Health System (January April 2000) Developed a task analysis for the position of Cardiology Unit Secretary at Lakeland Regional Health System to be used as a job description for the position. CyberMIND (September December 1999) Created a measurement system (using process maps and project maps) that measured the performance levels (in timeliness and accuracy) of a website developer.
