Perfectly suited f artists just starting out as well as those with some animation experience, this program is about taking your skills - and reel - to the professional level. You begin by studying traditional arts and computer animation skills, giving you the foundation to pursue any discipline in the animation industry. What you will learn in the first half of the program allows you to discover your passion, and you then elect a specialization in one of the cnerstones of the industry: 3D Animation, Modeling, Visual Effects. From animating and drawing to styboarding to designing characters to using digital tools, what you will learn will allow you to create two professional-quality sht films while giving you the know-how and experience you need to join any animation production studio.

3 Digital Character Animation: Duration: Six Months Cost: 15,500 Canadian Dollar June : A visual art ptfolio of your wk that includes life (preferred), character drawings and 3D computer wk (maximum 12 pieces). As this is an advanced program, your 3D wk must prove that you currently have sufficient skills to excel in the program. Successful completion of the VFS Classical Animation program. A Diploma in Digital Character Animation. Certification in Maya* software. A mastered demo reel of your final project. Over the course of six months, students create a film of their own from concept through production. This process includes intense sty research and development, modeling and animating hard and soft geometry, rigging characters f effective movement, texturing and lighting scenes, and wking with experienced sound designers and edits.

4 Classical Animation: Cost: 20,500 Canadian Dollar Successful completion of the VFS Foundation Visual Art & Design program. A visual art ptfolio of your wk that includes still-life drawings, life drawings, and character sketches (maximum 12 pieces). A Diploma in Classical Animation. A mastered demo reel of your final project. A traditional art and animation ptfolio. Demonstrated post-secondary acting experience and a videotaped audition that meets Department standards. A Diploma in Acting f Film and Television. Video of your class''s projects, professional headshots, and a promotional package highlighting your acting wk. Acting is an art of self-discovery. A 1-page (maximum) synopsis of a film project that you are passionate about making. Provide the film genre and utilize references to other movies to explain how you would make the film. A Diploma in Film Production. A compilation of your wk f your demo reel. Making films is hard. But ask any filmmaker and they'll tell you the unfgiving schedules, last-minute changes, tight budgets, and tough markets are wth the trouble, because making a film is about building a diverse team around a shared creative vision and wking together to craft a rewarding experience that resonates with audiences. A Diploma in Writing f Film and Television. A diverse writing and production ptfolio. Your year in Writing f Film & Television will have you writing everything from feature screenplays and episodic television to sketch comedy, sht films, and documentary treatments. What you will learn will allow you build a ptfolio of production-ready wk and gain the industry savviness needed to launch a career as a professional screenwriter.
