1 Kalamunda Districts Rugby Union Club (ABN ) Senior ewsletter : 1 11 th April 2013 Sponsors What a great start to the season Well Done!! Please read the information in this carefully We would like to THANK all our sponsors for their generosity and continued support, without which it would be difficult for the club to provide the facilities and equipment for our players. Peter (Tanks) Tankersley Pete supporting last year s Moly It is with deep regret that we learnt of the passing of Peter Tankersley a beloved and long time member of this Club. In addition to having been a playing member, Pete has for many years been involved with coaching both the Seniors and Juniors, and was currently coach of the U15s. He was a dedicated Club member, who will be sadly missed by us all Our deepest condolences go out to his family, Annie, Jack and Campbell Funeral details - (Friday 12 April) can be found on the Kalamunda Rugby webpage (homepage)
2 Volunteers A big THANK YOU to all those who have volunteered their time, be it on the Committee, as Team Managers, Coaches or behind the scenes. Their time and effort is invaluable in helping the Club to grow and in providing a positive Rugby and Club experience for all our players. Thank you!!!! HOWEVER We still need more help to ensure that we provide our players with the best playing experience and to take some pressure off our overworked volunteers. The following positions are vacant and urgently need filling: Secretary Financial Director (bookkeeping or accounting experience required) Clubhouse Director Club Registrar Reserve Grade Coach The work is not onerous, often very fulfilling and you ll be working with a bunch of like minded people, working together to make this into the best Club possible for our players and supporters. If you are prepared to assist in any capacity, please speak to one of the following Committee Members. Senior Committee The following people have agreed to give up much of their spare time and take on the responsibility of helping to run the Club, for the benefit all our members and players.. We therefore ask that you take this into account when dealing with and contacting them. Remember that most of them work and have other commitments so please be considerate when using the contact numbers and if possible keep your questions/queries till training nights. Your Team Manager needs to be able to contact you when needed. Junior team assistance If you can help out with some of the Junior teams on a Tuesday & Thursday night, please let Kimberley Murphy ( ) or Boags ( ) know. Club House / Bull Ring Thank you to those who have spent time and resources in sprucing up and organizing the Club House for the benefit of all. It is now up to us to ensure that it stays in a good condition. Therefore, as a reminder, can you please ensure that no boots are to be worn in the Club. All rubbish in the bins!!! Equipment Store The container where the equipment is stored is being left in a mess. To ensure easy access and the long life of the equipment please Leave it better than you find it! Canteen The canteen will be open, on Thursday nights from 5.00pm and at all Senior Home games. So go along and see what meals and snacks are on the menu Bar We have new bar staff. Georgia will be doing Thursdays and Saturdays along with Emma. Please make sure they feel welcome. Bar prices will be going up, but showing the bar staff your club membership card will allow you to purchase some drinks without having to pay this increase, so get your fees paid soon. Litter Historically litter at Home games has always been a problem, with litter/cans/bottles left strewn at the sidelines. Please do the right thing and use the bins provided in front of the Club House. There are also bins provided in between the two pitches for those watching matches on the second field Please remember it is your responsibility to ensure litter is disposed of correctly
5 Parking at Hartfield Park We would like to remind people that when attending training and/or home games that they MUST OT park in such a way as to impede access to the Tennis Court or Bowling Area. Cars blocking access to these areas run the risk of being towed away Please also take special care when parking in the car park behind the Club House (Hockey Club car park). and in the general area, that you do not leave anything of any value in your car, whether in view or not, as this car park is out of sight of most spectators and therefore an easy target for thieves. Bankwest Referral Initiative Taking out a home or business loan with Bank West? Then read this first : Grassroots partner of RugbyWA and the Emirates Western Force, Bank West launched a referral programme in 2012, which sees local rugby clubs across the State benefit from any home or business loan contract that stems from the club. RugbyWA has partnered with Bankwest in this initiative, with all commissions being funnelled through RugbyWA and then passed on in full to the nominated club. Some clubs who have received commissions since the launch of the program have been Cottesloe Rugby Club ($20,000), Associates Rugby Club ($10,000) and Wanneroo Rugby Club ($10,000) Bankwest has already donated close to $50,000 to local rugby clubs through the program. When you take out a Bankwest Home Loan or Business Loan, RugbyWA will pass on a 0.25% commision of the loan's value to your local rugby club. Bankwest joined RugbyWA in 2010 as the Official Partner of Grassroots Rugby and naming rights partner of the Bankwest RugbyWA Academy which provides a pathway for talented youngsters to achieve their goals of playing at the highest level. For further information or to ensure your Club gets the commission - Talk to Paul Burnett about your Home Loan on or Joshua Di Latte for Business Loans on Tell them your favourite local rugby club, and Bank West will pay RugbyWA 0.25% of your loan value (up to $10,000), which Rugby WA will then pass on to the club, Details at
