2 Assistant Brand This role is to support the Brand in the implementation of the brand plan. The Assistant Brand will be responsible in supporting the Brand in specific areas such as Value for Money or sponsorships. Brand This role is to develop and implement a specific area of the brand plan. To develop and manage the marketing strategies and plans that will grow loyalty with the key target segments. This role is responsible for delivering the marketing strategy and plans for the brand, delivering all the key financial and sales targets. A key element of this role is shaping the future strategy of the plan and effectively developing the brand team. Head of Insights This role is responsible for staying close to the key target segments and delivering key insights that will shape and lead our business. This role is responsible for the delivery of all research within the business. Director This role leads out the marketing team and strategy. This role represents the brand voice at the management team table and is responsible for growing and developing our brands for the future. A critical element of this role is developing the marketing people to become future leaders of the business.
3 What is? In Musgrave our marketing function is a very important area of the business. The core purpose of the marketing department is to: Deliver consumer insight that will shape our strategy and plans Deliver winning marketing strategies that will attract new shoppers and grow loyalty with existing shoppers Deliver winning PR strategies that will build positive equity for our brands What will I be doing? All of our graduates begin their programme together in our Group offices where you will spend one week on an induction programme. You will get to meet all the people you will need to know as well as understanding a little about how we work. The next step will be getting to know our business from the front line back. All graduates will spend two weeks in store getting to understand the real drivers in the business. This placement we feel is an essential part of the programme before you start in the marketing function and a further four week placement will be scheduled throughout the duration of the programme. Over the next two years you will follow a structured programme in a real role with real responsibility with all the support necessary. The first half of the programme will entail getting to know the marketing department structures and processes and developing the ability to analyse data and develop consumer insight. You will develop your commercial acumen through hands on experience under the guidance of your manager. In the second half of the programme you will start to operate independently by taking responsibility for the management of key areas of the brand plan be it supporting in the delivery of the local marketing plans or managing key elements of the value for money communications plan such as press or handbill. Throughout the programme you will be supported by a Brand but as you progress through the experience, you will be given more responsibility and more ownership of clear objectives. Unlike other programmes we give the hands on experience and responsibility from the very start along with a superb personal development programme. 4 A day in the life of a Arrive at the office Review the work plan for the week. Respond to s Meet with the wider brand team. Review priorities and agree the key focus for the next 2 weeks Review the latest Consumer research with the Head of Insight and agree the key insights to action for the business Meet with Sales & Trading colleagues to review the business performance and agree key communication plans for the next quarter Lunch Present to Retailers on the marketing strategy and plans for the coming quarter. Gain their input to the plan Meet with the advertising agency. Review their response to an advertising brief. Give the agency clear direction on next steps Finish
5 Candidate Profile We are looking for enthusiastic candidates who have achieved a core degree in business/commerce/food business/marketing. Potential candidates must have strong commercial acumen, have an ability to communicate well with others and work well as part of a team. We are looking for candidates that have a hunger to succeed and develop in an exciting and dynamic marketing department like Musgrave. To succeed in you will need: Strong analytical, numerical and decision making skills 2:1 or 1st class degree in a relevant discipline Excellent influencing skills the ability to influence people at all levels Drive and perseverance to get the best possible results for our Consumers always!
