8 CHIRAG SHAH Chirag joined Xchanging in September 2013 following the acquisition of MarketMaker4 where he was previously Co- Founder and Chairman. His career spans over 20 years in the provision of services and technologies within the supply chain sector. He has held senior positions in industry, consultancy and technology companies within companies such as Rover Group, GE and A.T.Kearney Management Consultants. An engineering graduate from the University of Cambridge, Chirag has also been one of the founding players in the eprocurement movement since the late 90 s building pioneering organisations such as A.T.Kearney s ebreviate, TradingPartners and most recently MarketMaker4. Chirag has extensive experience in running businesses in USA, UK, China and continental Europe and has received accreditation from the Best Companies To Work For Award in association with The Sunday Times.

14 A MAJOR GLOBAL TELECOMMUNICATIONS PROVIDER THE CHALLENGE A major global telecommunications provider needed to control its tail-end spend in Europe so that internal procurement teams could focus on their core business. At the time of engagement, this spend comprised of 120m across 12 countries with as many as 1,400 suppliers. THE RESULTS By working closely with the client and supporting well-established processes and with innovative technology, Xchanging succeeded in delivering: The sharing of best suppliers across Europe Reduced the number of suppliers to 400 "Xchanging produced a roadmap for implementing and synchronising technologies covering three stages of development: Workflow; Supplier Relationship Management and a Price Benchmarking Database. This brought a unique level of maturity to tail-end spend procurement for the customer." A GLOBAL LEADER IN PALLET AND CONTAINER POOLING SERVICES CHEP Europe is the global leader in pallet and container pooling services, serving many of the world s largest companies including: Procter & Gamble, SYSCP, Kraft, Nestle, Ford and GM. The company has more than 7,500 employees and operates in 50 countries. THE CHALLENGE Prior to engaging Xchanging, CHEP Europe had a small procurement team focused mainly on direct procurement categories. The company s principal challenges were to: Address spend in countries where no procurement team was in existence An effective change management programme High performance in service level agreement (SLA) time target achievement (>95%) Deliver incremental savings on a previously untapped indirect spend area Gain access to greater levels of procurement resources and expertise Deliver more value to the business by supplementing and upskilling

15 the existing team and transitioning to a more strategic procurement model THE RESULTS Over the course of the current contract with CHEP Europe, Xchanging delivered an average spend reduction of 13% across all categories. The Xchanging in-country teams have supported localised compliance management to ensure savings negotiated have visibility in the P&L.
