1 MSc Sftware Engineering Prjects and - E Intrductin Available in bth full and part-time mde, the MSc Sftware Engineering Prjects and prgramme will prvide graduates frm IT and related fields with the necessary skills t lead and manage sftware develpment prjects in a manner cnsistent with current standards. This prgramme is a respnse t the increasing need fr leaders wh can manage peple and prcesses, wh cmmunicate well and wh are knwledgeable abut the best sftware develpment practices in industry. The curse has been designed t permit a high degree f flexibility in that students may take varying cmbinatins f mdules. 2. Aims and Objectives The prgramme aims at develping skills in managing the applicatin f a systematic, disciplined, quantifiable apprach t the develpment, peratin, and maintenance f sftware. The successful graduate will be a cmpetent manager wh can cmmunicate well and wh can train and lead sftware develpers in prducing prducts that meet quality, schedule, and budget bjectives. 3. General Entry Requirements Successful cmpletin f an undergraduate degree with at least a Secnd Class r 50%, whichever is applicable, r a GPA nt less than 2.5 ut f 4 r equivalent, frm a recgnised Higher Educatin Institutin, r alternative qualificatins acceptable t the University f Mauritius. 4. Prgramme Requirements Any undergraduate degree in Cmputer Science r ther related areas. 5. Prgramme Duratin The nrmal duratin f the prgramme will be as detailed belw. 2 7. Assessment All mdules are f 45 hurs duratin and carry equal weightage [i.e. f 3 credits] except fr CSE All mdules will carry 100 marks and will be assessed as fllws (unless therwise specified). A written examinatin f 3 hurs and Cntinuus assessment carrying a range f 30% t 40% f ttal marks. Cntinuus assessment may be based n labratry wrks, and/r assignments and tests but shuld include at least 2 assignments/tests per mdule. An verall ttal f 40% fr cmbined cntinuus assessment and written examinatin cmpnents wuld be required t pass the mdule, withut minimum threshlds within the individual cntinuus assessment and written examinatin.
