1 KERALA ACADEMY FOR SKILLS EXCELLENCE (KASE) Kerala Academy for Skills Excellence (KASE), a Government of Kerala Undertaking is a company incorporated under section 25 of Companies Act, 1956, established as an apex organization for the skill development initiatives in the state of Kerala. The Kerala State Institute of Design (KSID), an entity of KASE was established for the purpose of creating a vibrant design community in Kerala through synergistic partnership between artisan community, professional designers and general public. One of the most important objectives of KSID is to promote design education. To realise this objective, KSID is supported by National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad. NID support includes creation of a comprehensive roadmap for KSID through systematic plan of action to develop and strengthen the organisation, faculty development and offering courses developed by NID. Applications are invited from interested candidates for the following posts in Kerala State Institute of Design, Chandanathope, Kollam. A. RECRUITMENT OF FACULTIES Note: a. A single post under each category is to be filled either as Assistant/Associate Faculty 1. Assistant/Associate Faculty in INTEGRATED LIFESTYLE PRODUCT DESIGN Job Description: Provide support to senior faculty in all academic matters, conduct courses, co-ordination with faculty and students, organizing workshops and other academic activities, etc. Educational qualification & Experience: a. For Associate Faculty: Post Graduate Degree/Diploma (minimum 2 years program) in Industrial Design from premier institutions like NID, IIT or equivalent with core courses in Product Design with 8 years of experience in industry / academia in the area of design. The candidate should have professional experience in Design Research, Form exploration and Prototyping.

2 Under Graduate Degree/Diploma (minimum 4 years program) in Industrial Design from premier institutions like NID, IIT or equivalent with core courses in Product Design with 10 years of experience in industry / academia in the area of design. The candidate should have professional experience in Design Research, Form exploration and Prototyping. b. For Assistant Faculty: Post Graduate Degree/Diploma (minimum 2 years program) in Industrial Design from premier institutions like NID, IIT or equivalent with core courses in Product Design with 3 years of experience in industry / academia in the area of design. The candidate should have professional experience in Design Research, Form exploration and Prototyping. Under Graduate Degree/Diploma (minimum 4 years program) in Industrial Design from premier institutions like NID, IIT or equivalent with core courses in Product Design with 5 years of experience in industry / academia in the area of design. The candidate should have professional experience in Design Research, Form exploration and Prototyping. Rs. 60,000/- for Assistant Faculty Rs. 80,000/- for Associate Faculty 2. Assistant/Associate Faculty in INTEGRATED TEXTILE & APPAREL DESIGN Job Description: Provide support to senior faculty in all academic matters, conduct courses, co-ordination with faculty and students, organizing workshops and other academic activities, etc. Educational qualification & Experience: a. For Associate Faculty: Post Graduate Degree/Diploma (minimum 2 years program) in Textile/Apparel Design from premier institutions like NID, NIFT or equivalent with core courses in Textile Design. 8 years of experience in industry / academia in the area of design. The candidate should have good drawing, sketching and rendering skills and mastery over creative pattern/geometry development. Any experience working in crafts sector will be an advantage. Under Graduate Degree/Diploma (minimum 4 years program) in Textile/Apparel Design from premier institutions like NID, NIFT or equivalent with core courses in Textile Design. 10 years of experience in industry / academia in the area of design. Administrator Job Description: Administrator will be in charge of overall management, administration of all activities of KSID and will be reporting to the Managing Director, KASE. Educational qualification & Experience: Retired officers not below the rank of Under Secretary to Government of Kerala and equivalent having suitable experience will be considered. Experience in managing institutions and organisations will be an added advantage. Rs 30,000/- 2. Facility Manager/Female Warden Job Description: Warden for Girls Hostel with added responsibility of managing boy s hostel, Students Affairs, Housekeeping, Estate Management, Mess/Canteen, etc. Educational qualification & Experience: Bachelor's Degree in any Discipline with Minimum 10 years administrative/supervisory work experience with atleast two year experience as hostel warden. Rs 30,000/-

5 C. RECRUITMENT OF TECHNICAL SUPPORT STAFF 1. Technical Assistant (Wood) Job Description: In charge of wood and bamboo workshop. Should operate and maintain equipments. Assist students and faculty in workshop, procure raw materials, manage machine AMC, etc. Educational qualification & Experience: Diploma in Wood working/carpentry or similar disciplines from a recognised institution with 3 years relevant work experience with wood or bamboo based industry ITI Certificate Course in Wood working/carpentry or similar disciplines from a recognised institution with 5 years relevant work experience with wood or bamboo based industry Rs 20,000/- per month; an increment upto 20% for deserving candidates 2. Technical Assistant (Metal and Plastic) Job Description: In charge of metal and plastic workshop. Should operate and maintain equipments. Assist students and faculty in workshop, procure raw materials, manage machine AMC etc. Educational qualification & Experience: Diploma in Metal Fabrication/ Plastics Processing/ or similar disciplines from a recognised institution with 3 years relevant work experience with metal or plastic based industry ITI Certificate Course in Metal Fabrication/ Plastics Processing/ or similar disciplines from a recognised institution with 5 years relevant work experience with metal or plastic based industry Rs 20,000/- per month; an increment upto 20% for deserving candidates 3. Technical Assistant (Weaving Lab) Job Description: Maintaining looms, helping students with warp making, drafting, tie up and weaving, helping with dyeing etc.

6 Educational qualification & Experience: Either 10th Pass with 5 years experience in warp making, weaving, drafting, denting and tying pedals knowledge on graph paper lifting plans, weaving calculations, dobby, jacquard etc. Holders of master weaver card Rs 20,000/- per month; an increment upto 20% for deserving candidates 4. Technical Assistant (Apparel Lab) Job Description: Maintaining and servicing sewing machines, training students in maintenance of sewing machines, stitching, cutting etc., Educational qualification & Experience: 10th Pass with ITI Apparel production or similar discipline with 5 years experience in servicing and maintaining sewing machines, knowledge of cutting, pattern making etc. Rs 20,000/- per month; an increment upto 20% for deserving candidates 5. IT Support Staff Job Description: In charge for Computers, Computer peripherals like printers/scanners/projectors, Local Networking, Internet, Troubleshooting, Hardware/software procurement and maintenance, etc. Educational qualification & Experience: Master's Degree in Computer Science/IT with Minimum 5 years work experience with relevant work experience in IT Infrastructure Management and Networking Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science / IT with Minimum 7 years work experience with relevant work experience in IT Infrastructure Management and Networking. Rs 35,000/- per month; an increment upto 20% for deserving candidates APPOINTMENT: The appointment for all the above posts will be on contract basis for two (2) years, extendable year by year upto 5 years.
