9 INSTRUCTION TO M.S (BY RESEARCH)/ PH.D CANDIDATES UNDER FN CATEGORY AT ANNA UNIVERSITY, CHENNAI, CHENNAI , INDIA 1.0 ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS 1.1. Application The application form may be downloaded from the website: GENERAL ELIGIBIL ITY M.S (By Research) I. Bachelor s Degree in Engineering / Technology / Architecture / M.Sc in Science & Humanities of the University or any other qualification recognized as equivalent thereto in the fields of study notified from time to time by the University. Specific educational qualifications are given in Clause 1.3. II. For Engineering, minimum of 55% marks or CGPA of 5.5 on a 10 point scale in the qualifying examination. For M.A.(English) Degree holders, a minimum of 50% marks or CGPA of 5. 0 on a 10 point scale Ph.D. Degree I. Masters Degree of the University or any other qualification recognized as equivalent thereto in the fields of study notified from time to time by this University. Specific Educational Qualifications are given in Clause 1.3. II. For Engineering minimum of 55% marks or CGPA of 5.5 on a 10 point scale in the qualifying examination. For M. (By Research). Programme, and Clause & 1.3 are eligible to apply for Ph. D. Programme. (By Research) in the relevant branch of Science and Humanities / M.C.A MBA / Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management or Administration awarded by Indian Institute of Managements (IIMs) / M.S (B y Research) in Management Sciences. M.Arch./M.Plan / M.S.(By Research) in Architecture and Planning 1.4 DURATION OF THE PROGRAMME The minimum duration of the programme for Full- time for M.S (By Research) is 2 years. The minimum duration of the programme for Full- time for Ph.D. is 2 years. 1.8 Examination fee for Course Work A maximum of eight PG level courses including one compulsory Mathematics course are to be studied and examinations are to be undertaken by a M.S. (By Research) scholar as recommended by the Monitoring Committee. The required Examination fee per course work is to be paid as notified by the Controller of Examinations. A maximum of four PG level courses are to be studied and examinations are to be undertaken by a Ph.D. scholar as recommended by the Doctoral Committee. The required Examination fee has to be paid as notified by the Controller of Examinations. 1.9 Synopsis Fee ( Payable at the time of submission of Synopsis) Synopsis Fee : Rs. 6,500/- (including Provisional Certificate and Degree Certificate fee) to be paid by M.S. (By Research) and Ph.D. students Selection of candidates : 1. Selection of the candidates will be done on first come first served basis subject to availability of vacancies and production of the following documents: I. Proof for the Citizenship of the candidate ( Birth Certificate) II. Passport of the candidate. III. Qualifying mark list of the candidate Bachelors and Masters Degree Programmes:If the grades are produced, certificate showing equivalent marks to grades should be submitted. IV. 11 2.0 Registration Fee A Bank Draft for US $ 200 drawn in favour of the Director, Centre for International Affairs, Anna University, Chennai payable at New York drawn from any Nationalised Banks of India or other International Banks with branches in India should be submitted along with the application. 2.1 Last date for Receipt of Application Application complete in all respects should reach the Director, Centre for International Affairs, Anna University, Chennai , India on or before The admission is subject to the eligibility criteria prescribed by the Academic Courses, Anna University, Chennai, India. 2.2 Payment of Tuition Fee Structure : (in US dollars) On receipt of the allotment order, the candidate has to pay the prescribed fee immediately in the form of Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Director, Centre for International Affairs, Anna University, Chennai payable at New York.
