3 1. PROGRAMMES OFFERED Following Post Graduate programmes are offered by Department of Mathematics and Department of Humanities and Social Sciences: a. Master of Science in Mathematics and Scientific Computing [Duration: 2 Years (4 semesters)] Offered by Department of Mathematics b. Master of Social Work (MSW) [Duration: 2 Years (4 semesters)] Offered by Department of Humanities & Social Sciences 2. ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION (i) (ii) Candidate must have a minimum of 60% aggregate marks or 6.5 CPI (Cumulative Performance Index on ten point scale) in qualifying examination (as referred in section 2.1). For SC/ST candidates eligibility in specified minimum marks is relaxed to 55% or 6.0 CPI The eligibility conditions given above are the absolute minimum. Departments may prescribe any other requirements over and above the absolute minimum, subject to the approval of competent authority. (iii) Reservation: 27% seats are reserved for OBC candidates, 15% seats are reserved for the Scheduled Castes candidates and 7.5% seats are reserved for the Scheduled Tribes candidates. Admission Procedure Admission on the basis of score obtained in JAM-2015 (Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. conducted by IIT, Guwahati). Admission will be based on written examination conducted by MNNIT Allahabad at MNNIT Allahabad

APPLICATION PROCEDURE (i) Applicants are required to submit their application through on-line application system using the portal only. No other means of application shall be acceptable. (ii) There are two steps in online application procedure Step 1. Register by filling your personal details and pay fee by using payment link An application ID will be provided in this step, which will be required in step 2. Application fee is Rs.1200/- for OPEN and OBC-NC candidates for each programme.. For SC/ST category admission fee is Rs for each programme. Fee payment can be made by either online payment mode by credit/debit card, internet banking or offline mode by chalan. If online payment mode is opted, then after successful payment an e-receipt will be generated by admission portal. If offline payment is opted, then report any branch of - 4 -

5 State Bank of India with print out of the generated chalan and deposit application fee. Bank will provide a stamped receipt. This e-receipt/stamped clalan receipt will be required at the time of sending application form to MNNIT Allahabad. Step 2. Online filling of application form: Log-in with application ID provided in step 1 Before starting the online filling of application form, please make sure that you have soft copy of your passport size photograph in JPEG (up to 30 kb) format. After login, follow the instructions for filling application form. Take print out of the form, attach photocopy of all required documents [refer section 7] and send on the address given below so as to reach before the due date: Admission Cell Office of the Dean (academic) Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad Allahabad (iii) Write on the top of envelop the name of the programme in which you are applying, e.g. Application for M.Sc. programme in Department of Mathematics or Application for M.S.W. programme in Department of HSS 6. ADMISSION CRITERIA M.Sc. (Mathematics and Scientific Computing): Admission will be done on the basis of valid score obtained in JAM (Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. conducted by IIT, Guwahati) to candidates satisfying eligibility criteria. Master of Social Sciences (M.S.W.): Eligible candidates will be called for written examination. Admission will be done on the basis of admission test conducted by MNNIT Allahabad at MNNIT Allahabad. Important Notes: (i) Separate application forms must be filled for courses offered by different departments along with the prescribed fee. (ii) All declarations/results will be declared through admission portal only. No separate letter will be sent by the institute for attending the written examination/document verification. (iii) Candidates are advised to visit the admission portal regularly for update. (iv) The selected candidate, who has completed all the pre-requisite examinations including project/thesis examination and the viva voce before the date of registration but is unable to produce the certificate in proof of having passed and secured the minimum specified qualifying marks, may be considered for provisional admission. However, if admitted provisionally, they will be required to produce the evidence of their having passed the qualifying degree examination within six weeks from the last date of registration, failing which the admission will automatically be cancelled. 7.
