3 Some of our prices are going up in April Standard Line Rental From 28 April 2011, the standard line rental charge will go up from to per month, or from to per quarter. Prices quoted are with payment by Direct Debit. Customers with the previous e-billing discount will continue to get a discount of 1.25 per month ( 3.75 per quarter) on the above prices (e-bill discount is no longer available to new customers). The changes won t apply to customers on BT Basic or to new and existing Line Rental Saver customers. Call set-up fee From 28 April 2011, the call set-up fee for non-inclusive calls from landlines and for non-inclusive Broadband Talk calls will go up from 11.5p to 12.5p per call. Call set-up fees won t apply to: inclusive weekend calls on the Unlimited Weekend Plan inclusive evening and weekend calls on the Unlimited Evening & Weekend Plan or the Broadband Talk Evening & Weekend Plan inclusive anytime calls on the Unlimited Anytime Plan or the Broadband Talk Anytime Plan calls to freephone numbers and other inclusive calls. Daytime UK Calls From 28 April 2011, the cost of UK landline calls made during the daytime will go up from 7.0p per minute to 7.6p per minute. The changes to the daytime UK landline call price won t affect customers on BT Basic, Light User Scheme and inclusive calls of up to an hour made with the Unlimited Anytime Plan. Calling Features From 28 April 2011, the subscription for Call Minder will go up from 2.60 to 3.00 per month ( 7.80 to 9.00 per quarter). The subscription charge for all other individual calling features will go up from 2.70 to 3.00 per month ( 8.10 to 9.00 per quarter). Subscription charges for packs of 2-4 calling features will go up from 5.40 to 6.00 per month ( to per quarter). And for packs of 5 or more calling features, from 7.30 to 8.00 per month ( to per quarter). Per-use charges for calling features without subscription stay the same. Standard Broadband Option 1 From 28 April 2011, the Standard Broadband Option 1 charge will go up from to per month. Customers on a lower price because of an offer or discount will stay on the agreed price until the discount ends. At this point, the price of the product will go up to per month. This change won t apply to customers taking Broadband Option 1 as part of a package of services including telephone and/or TV. 8 VAT change to Payment Processing Fee From 29 January 2011, the Payment Processing Fee (PPF) includes UK VAT at 20%. This means that the price has gone up from 1.50 per month to 1.80 per month, which remains less than half the price charged by some of our competitors. Previously the PPF has been treated as a VAT exempt charge. However, the European Court of Justice has recently decided that these charges are subject to VAT. The Court s decisions are binding on all EU Member States and BT is legally required to charge VAT. For more information on the European Court s decisions, follow the links from bt.com/help/vat The Payment Processing Fee won t be charged if bills are paid by Direct Debit or a Monthly Payment Plan. Save money when you pay by Direct Debit or Monthly Payment Plan Avoid the Payment Processing Fee by switching to Whole Bill Direct Debit or a Monthly Payment Plan. We know that some customers worry about paying variable amounts by Direct Debit, so we offer Monthly Payment Plan, which spreads the cost of your bills through fixed monthly payments. For full pricing information see the BT Price List at bt.com/pricing/homepage.htm International Call Rates From 29 April 2011, calls to some international special and higher rate service number ranges will be charged at the same rate as calls to mobile telephones registered in those countries. Calls to these number ranges will no longer be available at inclusive rates for customers on our International Freedom call package. However, international calls can still be made at discounted rates for customers on our International Freedom or Friends & Family International call packages. You can find full details of affected number ranges at bt.com/help/internationalcalls International Freedom Fair Usage Policy From 18 June, we re changing our Fair Usage Policy for International Freedom. The maximum limit stays the same at 600 minutes a month, but we ll charge 2.5p per minute for calls that go over that. You can find all the details at bt.com/help/internationalfreedom Changes to the advance notice for Direct Debit collection If you pay by Direct Debit, we have to tell you in advance before we collect it or if we make changes (like the amount, or how often and when we collect the money). We ve recently reduced the period of time we allow for any queries relating to your payment (Advance Notice Period) from ten to six working days from the date on your bill. You don t have to do anything. And the change doesn t affect the date you usually pay your Direct Debit. We ll still collect it either two weeks after the date on your bill, or on the date agreed with you (depending on how it s set up). About your phone service If your BT landline develops a fault, our engineer can visit. If the fault is due to your own equipment, you ll be charged for the visit, but call-out is free if the fault is with the BT network. Our network ends at the master socket (also called the line box). For simple ways to identify and solve faults without a call-out charge, check your phone book or bt.com/fault The Phone Book BT provides a copy of The Phone Book covering your local area every 12 months.
