1 Broadcast Operations 1. Sports Digital/Broadcast/Distribution Number of Positions available: 1 The intern will have the opportunity to learn the dynamics of sports product and digital distribution. The intern will actively participate in the development of on-site digital content campaigns, and distribution for newly developed on-site ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex s berm network. Through research, observation, and participation, he/she will learn the digital production, new media process at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex and will be provided with the opportunity to actively participate in decisionmaking and execution by assisting on-site manager in the following areas: Attending digital center production/broadcast planning meetings for complex Interacting with sports marketing, advertising agencies and other outside vendors Writing creative briefs and revisions for editors, graphic assets staff Developing creative visual presentations Writing and updating Did You Know event factoids Participating on event task force teams made up of sales, marketing, and event planning staff Special projects based upon the intern s interest and skills

2 ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex Operation 2. Box Office Operations Number of Positions available: 1 Interns will support the team by assisting with the development of: Promotions and special offers Processing and mailing group and season ticket orders for professional events Developing and implementing control processes for supporting remote sales and off-site venues Acting as Managers/Ticket Specialists for the entire Box Office Responsible for overseeing the daily operation of the Box Office: includes providing banks for the Box Office staff at the windows Responsible for registration for all on-site and off-site sporting events that come to ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex 3. Facility Operations Number of Positions available: 1 The Facility Operations team monitors the total operation of the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex by working closely with all business units. This area is responsible for three departments: Guest Operations which includes; ushers, turnstiles, parking, duty manager, event registration Custodial Operations which maintains the cleanliness of all facilities within the Sports Complex Changeover/Logistics which manages the set up, monitoring, and strike of all events Key events the intern is involved with include: AAU Basketball/Volleyball, Pop Warner Super Bowl, Atlanta Braves Spring Training, Walt Disney World Marathon, and the Old Spice Classic

Premium/Special Events Number of Positions available: 1 The intern will observe and participate in the day-to-day operations of ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, learning how each discipline partners for best results, how problem solving is handled, and how the Sports team provides the highest quality of guest service. The intern will become familiar with our business practices and diversity strategies while working directly with the Sports Complex Special Events Team. The intern must demonstrate schedule flexibility as our business involves weekends and evenings as well as normal operation. The following disciplines will be covered during the internship: General knowledge of all operating areas at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex to include initial hands on training in guest operations, custodial, changeover, and logistics Coordinate with Complex partners to maintain and improve various areas of the Complex Actively involved with major third party clients including the Atlanta Braves Plan and execute Opening Ceremonies and Graduations Plan and execute team buildings and functions with Epcot Events Coordinate with Youth Markets, assisting with event execution Provide communication support, preparing the weekly Event Telecast, a property wide communication document of Complex event schedules Actively engaged with computer software, focusing on event and venue utilization Participate in event planning and rundisney race procurement and logistics

4 Finance 5. Sports Finance Number of Positions available: 2 The interns will learn the financial systems and analysis used by Disney Sports to determine the viability of specific events for ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. The interns will become integrated into the event selection process from the prospect stage through contract. These roles will be involved primarily in special projects with some responsibility for routine financial reporting. Responsibilities include: Determining the financial results of major sporting events on property Analyzing the incremental strategic value to Walt Disney World driven by the events, including creating post event P&Ls Developing business cases and pro forma s for new business opportunities at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex and presenting the recommendations to Executive Leadership Development of financial modeling spreadsheets and financial report generation Development of monthly forecasts for responsible lines of business Presentations to management and partners on financial business results Aid in the preparation of financial goals and opportunities during for the Annual Operating Plan Analysis of productivity initiatives and future business opportunities Opportunity to volunteer and shadow event management team at selected events

5 Marketing 6. Sports Marketing and Technology Number of Positions available: 4 Interns will be mentored by a cross section of Sports Marketing professionals and will have the opportunity to learn the dynamics of sports event marketing through a variety of approaches (i.e. Direct to Athlete, Group Marketing to Team coaches and parents, as well as Direct to Consumer Spectator Marketing). interns will be exposed to and participate in the development of marketing campaigns and projects including research, strategic planning, creative development, print and digital advertising, social media, promotions and other tactics used to appeal to the variety of potential participants in Disney Sporting events. Through research, observation, and participation, he/she will learn the marketing process for ESPN Wide World of Sports and rundisney brands and will be provided with the opportunity to actively participate in decision-making and execution by assisting Sports Marketing Responsibilities include: Attending marketing/project planning meetings Covering events as a Social Media correspondent Interacting with internal Walt Disney World Resort partners, Corporate Sponsors, advertising agencies and other outside vendors Drafting and revising creative briefs Developing persuasive and informative presentations Providing input for website, broadcast and social media content updates Analyzing marketing data Participating on event task force teams made up of sales, marketing, and event planning staff Conducting research on additional marketing channels and technology enhancements Special projects based upon the intern s interest and skills

6 7. Marketing Graphic Design Number of Positions available: 1 Disney Sports Attractions is looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and creative individual. Although this is a sports-based internship, you do not have to be interested in sports to work here. Ideal candidates will have a passion for design and an enthusiasm for marketing. This is a highly competitive opportunity that will allow the chosen candidate to work on high-level projects for some of the most respected brands in the world including ESPN, the Walt Disney Company, and many others. Your work will reach a wide variety of audiences in the United States and abroad. You ll work directly with our marketing team to create and develop plans for some of our well-known events including Atlanta Braves Spring Training, Disney Soccer, Old Spice Classic, rundisney events, and much more. There are many aspects to the role including: Designing new creative for campaigns as well as repurposing or updating past creative. This can include print ads, signage, web and social media graphics, logo design, logo repurposing, resizing elements, preparing files for print, some light digital retouching/photo manipulation based on skill level Working on co-branded creative for external partners such as OfficeMax, Old Spice, etc. Organizing and cataloging the Marketing Photo Library. You will be responsible for capturing that data from our photographers and organizing it for our online archive Ensuring that all brand standards are met for each project and assignment Attending meetings and brainstorm sessions for the development of new campaign tactics The Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who is more than just a whiz with a mouse or a Wacom tablet. The person who ultimately gets the role will be filling a vital part of our creative marketing team. You must pay fantastic attention to detail You must work well with deadlines and be able to handle multiple tasks, reprioritizing as needed You must be a master of the Adobe Trio (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign). Additional knowledge in other areas is a plus You must be able to adapt to new creative direction and be amenable to constructive feedback Strong communication skills are vital You must have an online portfolio for review and should provide a working URL in your resume Previous experience working in an office environment is a plus

7 Program Services 8. Sports Program Services Number of Positions available: 1 The intern will report to the Program Services Manager and will be involved in the creation and servicing of the Program Services line of business. The intern will be provided the opportunity to actively participate in the decision making process by assisting the Program Services Manager in the following areas: Responsibilities include: Working with online registration providers to create registration templates, monitor event participant or team registration and insure proper collection of fees Processing of deferrals, refunds and transfers through the Endurance line of business Mailing and/or ing information to potential attendees Collection and retention of legal documentation (waivers) Form creation Currency operations and revenue control The Sports Program Services intern will primarily support the rundisney line of business during the course of the 12 months. When necessary, the intern will also provide support for the other Disney Sales Teams (Baseball/Softball, Soccer, Lacrosse, etc). Sports Program Services intern Requirements: High level of organization and self initiative Have excellent computer skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc. Have financial experience Be able to communicate via phone/ in a professional manner The intern will also be given the opportunity to observe and participate in the planning, organizing and managing of a variety of events in different sports at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.

8 Public Relations 9. Sports Public Relations Number of Positions available: 2 The intern will have an active role in the day-to-day operation of the sports public relations department where he/she will be given the opportunity to take a hands-on approach to practicing sports public relations on a local and national scale. The intern will have the opportunity to observe, learn and participate in the development and execution of sports public relations initiatives involving national, regional, local and niche sports publications and outlets, as well as serve in sports information roles The interns will develop public relations plans, serve as public relations project manager on various events and learn the strategic thinking required to successfully promote youth and professional sports events and athletes. The intern will actively participate in the development and execution of public relations tactics related to events, initiatives and news announcements by assisting in the following areas: Develop and/or support public relations plans for many of the more than 300 youth/professional sporting events (e.g. Atlanta Braves Spring Training, rundisney races, Old Spice Classic, Pro Soccer Classic, ESPN College Football Awards, AAU National Basketball Championship, Pop Warner Super Bowl, etc.) at Disney Identify and pitch stories to media that deliver the key messages of the Disney Sports brand Compose and produce content (e.g. videos, photos, tweets) for Disney Sports social media platforms Plan and provide on-site support to media during events, including management of media center, credential distribution, live broadcasts and interview requests Develop and maintain working relationships with traditional and non-traditional media, including niche media and bloggers Facilitate media requests for photos, videos and other assets Assist in creation and distribution of multimedia collateral as well as maintain all media lists.

9 Sports Event Sales and Programming 10. Disney Created Number of Positions available: 3 Disney Created Portfolio: interns will be involved in the creation, planning, sales, marketing, and execution of Disney Created Events. Disney Created Events are events that are owned and executed by the Disney Sports Team. All Sales and Marketing aspects are handled in-house for these events, and this team s primary role is to identify, recruit, and work with the teams and athletes prior to arrival, during the event, and post event. interns will work directly on a diverse portfolio of sports consisting of Soccer, Baseball, Fastpitch Softball, Field Hockey, Lacrosse, Volleyball, Track & Field, Cross Country, Golf, Tennis and Rugby. The Disney Created Sales team manages over 20+ events that are offered for youth, high school and college athletes at all skill and division levels. Events in the portfolio range from recreational, to competitive, to elite. Marquee Events: Disney Spring Training Softball, Baseball, Lacrosse, Track & Field Disney Soccer Showcase Qualifier Disney Soccer Showcase Disney Field Hockey Showcase Disney international Salute to Baseball Festival Disney Cup international Youth Soccer Tournament Walt Disney World Cross Country Classic The Disney Created Sales interns will have the opportunity to observe the dynamics of choosing appropriate events for the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. They will learn the types of information the Sales Manager collects to determine the value of events, including the importance of event profitability and strategic considerations, and observe event contract negotiations. The intern will be mentored by Sports Sales Managers and will be involved in strategic, long-term planning and daily operational management for current and future Disney Created events to be held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. They will interface with Facility Management and other Walt Disney World departments to insure that all requirements of the event are met.

10 The interns will be provided the opportunity to actively participate in the decision making process by assisting the Sales Managers in the following areas: Sales Assist in creation and execution of the Sales & Marketing plan Research existing events and gather information on event history, merchandise sales, and sponsorship opportunities to enhance Disney Created events Forecast numbers to be used as the primary drivers for operational partner planning. Partner with Marketing, Sponsorship, Sports Housing, Event Operations, Facilities Operations, Logistics, Guest Service, Sports Food & Beverage, Merchandise and other Walt Disney World departments. Developing proposals for internal presentations and partners Event Management Assist in preparation and management of various segments of event experience, including: registration, athlete parties, awards and team/athlete communication Support sponsor execution Marketing Work with the marketing department on the strategy and creative for new marketing pieces for online and print advertisement and collateral Update and maintain team participating and tournament results on web site Responsibilities include: Identify and recruit potential event prospects Assist Sales Managers with out-bound targeted sales initiatives call campaigns, s, etc. Answer in-bound s, calls and sales inquiries Assist in event budget preparation and post-event financial recaps Handle all facets of preparing sales managers for successful tradeshow circuit Correspond with third party sales agents on tournament updates Maintain files and spreadsheets on the shared drive Learn and utilize sales/event programs (Siebel, DSCS, KANA)

11 Required Qualifications Intern must have a passion for sports, prior playing and coaching experience is recommended but not a necessity. intern must be able to take initiative, be energetic, have a strong work ethic, be outgoing and be able to communicate with guests, staff, coaches and respective leader. Desired Qualifications Background in Sports including Soccer, Baseball, Fastpitch Softball, Field Hockey, Lacrosse, Volleyball, Track & Field, Cross Country, Golf, Tennis and Rugby. Ability to speak Spanish fluently Previous Sales & Marketing experience Knowledge and Understanding of international Marketplace

Third Party Sales and Programming Number of Positions available: 2 The intern will have the opportunity to participate and gain experience managing third party clients (AAU, Pop Warner, USSSA, etc) for ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. The intern will work with internal and external business partners to program new events and service existing events at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. interns will learn event business valuation, contract negotiation skills, and general account management functions. The intern will assist in the following areas: Manage day to day client communication Develop & implement strategic plans for growth of third party events Help determine and draft deal terms for new events and/or contract renegotiations Assist in event budget preparation, post event reconciliation, and billing Work with internal and external partners to execute pre event planning tasks like venue booking, room blocks, theme park ticket sales, marketing assistance, etc. Sales & Programming Requirements: Knowledge of Sporting Events Strong Business Background Excellent Interpersonal Communication Skills Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.

13 12. Premium Sales/Atlanta Braves Spring Training Number of Positions available: 1 The intern will be mentored by the Sales Managers and report to the Area Manager of the Premium Sales Team. They will have the opportunity to work on all sales related functions and provide sales support for Atlanta Braves Spring Training and other Premium events, such as the Old Spice Classic and the WDW Pro Soccer Classic, that may take place at the Complex. The intern will actively participate in the decision making process by assisting the Sales Managers in the following areas: Provide contribution to the annual sales plan by offering creative & new ideas, learn the mechanics of how to develop the plan and monitor performance against the plan Utilize Archtics, Ticketmaster, Siebel, and ATS to sell and service prospective Guests/Clients Sell new tickets for premium events (season, suites, hospitality, groups, & mini plans) Service current Atlanta Braves Spring Training Season Ticket accounts Work with current and potential clients in person, on the phone, and in person Answer incoming calls & execute inside sales transactions Participate in guided tours of Champion Stadium & ESPN Wide World of Sports for clients Process ticket orders Maintain files and spreadsheets on the shared drive Partner effectively with internal business units including Marketing, Box Office, Special Events, Finance & Food & Beverage Assist with group mailings Communicate with internal & external partners to guarantee success at the scheduled events Execute outbound sales campaigns and prospect for new leads Monitor & respond to KANA s Assist with Group Water Park Sales and Offsite Theme Park ticket sales programs

Sports Development Number of Positions available: 4 Length of Program: 12 months (Summer 12 - Summer 13) The Sports Development intern will be mentored by a Business Development Manager and will gain experience in valuing new event opportunities including third party rights Holder Events and / or Disney Created events. The intern will have the opportunity to participate in all aspects of the Event Cycle including: The research required to prospect new event opportunities Developing proposals for internal presentations and client presentations Assisting in the negotiation process including client interaction via meetings & site visits Assisting in Developing Marketing and Sales Plans Assisting in Developing the Event Game Plan and P&L Partnering with all functional areas who have accountability with the event from Marketing, Sponsorship, Sports Housing, Event Operations, Facilities Operations, Sports Food & Beverage and Merchandise

Alliance/New Business Development Number of Positions available: 2 The intern will be mentored by the Manager, Alliance Development and will gain experience in the areas of sponsorship at ESPN s Wide World of Sports Complex event-specific sponsorship, as well as overall sponsorship of The Walt Disney Company s many global assets. The intern will observe and assist with all aspects of Alliance Account Management and Development in the broad areas of event/asset branding, marketing opportunities, procurement/merchandising initiatives and partner hospitality offerings. Specific responsibilities include: Interacting with all levels of partner and Disney management from front line to CEO level to achieve alliance goals Research required to prospect for opportunities with existing alliance partners Creating sponsorship proposals and overviews Negotiations leading to a final agreement for sponsorship renewals and incremental opportunities with existing alliance partners Contract Administration Creating annual client recaps Fulfillment of obligations of the Sponsorship agreement Opportunity to assist with event support for Alliance Management and Disney Sports BRANDING Partnering with internal Disney client groups to develop and apply partner branding at sports events and in Disney parks and resorts Conducting spot checks of partner branding throughout Walt Disney World /ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex

Volunteer Services & Community Outreach Number of Positions available: 2 The Volunteer Services & Community Outreach Team supports more than 25 events and fills more than 19,000 volunteer shifts annually. interns will have the opportunity to participate in all aspects of volunteer management. interns will gain an understanding of the event planning processes including pre-event logistics, on-site volunteer operational s support, and post-event responsibilities. Additionally, they will coordinate community outreach experiences for teams participating in sports events. The interns are mentored by our Volunteer Services Managers. The interns will actively participate in decision-making and event delivery by assisting in the following areas: Marketing and recruitment efforts for volunteer Understanding of volunteer database, scheduling systems and reporting functions High degree of interaction with volunteers requiring excellent written and verbal communication skills Event planning and logistics in partnership with the Event Management Team in support of volunteer operation Preparing training materials, scheduling and facilitating training sessions Providing on-site support during events in the areas of volunteer management and event delivery Beneficiary interaction and support throughout the event cycle Post event recaps, appreciation, and volunteer retention efforts Examples of events the interns will be involved with include all rundisney Events, Special Olympics Florida State Summer Games & Fall Classic, and the Old Spice Classic.

20 Event Management 17. Event Management Number of Positions available: 3 The interns will be given the opportunity to observe and participate in the planning, organizing and managing of a variety of events in different sports at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. The interns will be encouraged to fully participate in the management of events by assisting the Sports Event Managers in the following areas: Portfolio management including client contractual and financial responsibilities, as well as collaborating with partners throughout the event cycle Emphasis on preparation, partnering, and communication Conducting venue analysis and preparing logistics plans Interfacing with Facility Management and other Walt Disney World departments to ensure that all requirements of the event are met Participate in client site visits and event itineraries Plan, implement, and execute events including setup, registration, client/partner presentations, guest communication, scheduling, equipment inventory/ordering, labor planning, finding efficiencies, and formulating/analyzing post event recaps Partner to create unique on-site guest experiences Ideal candidate should be detail oriented, able to multitask, willing to learn and go the extra mile, energetic, take ownership of a project from start to finish, and able to work a variety of hours based on event needs (holidays, weekends, nights, etc)

Disney Institute Number of Positions available: 2 The intern has the opportunity to learn the dynamics of the sports industry through the lens of the Disney Institute, Walt Disney Company s external training division. The intern will actively participate in engagements with external clients and will develop relationships with these clients. As sports organizations engage Disney Institute to benchmark Disney s best business practices to apply to their organizations, the intern will work on the account team to better manage and create these relationships. interns will gain skills necessary to negotiate deal terms and contractual agreements. Interns must have a strong understanding of the business behind sports, the sports landscape, and posses exceptional communication skills. The intern is responsible for helping identify and manage client opportunities, market research, planning potential and future engagements, and assisting the account manager on his day-to-day activities. The intern will provide operational support and assist with other tasks as needed.
