4 OPTUS EXPAN NEXTDC HOSTING PHYSICALLY SECURE AND CERTIFIED Offering globally recognised ISO27001 Certification for the delivery of EXPAN NEXTDC hosting services, the Optus EXPAN NEXTDC Data Centres are equipped with advanced security technology including a closed circuit TV and intercom at all perimeter entry points with biometrics scanners. This technology is complimented with professional security staff monitoring the facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The data centres incorporate N + 1 redundancy on all facility sub-systems including power, cooling, electrical, mechanical, fire detection and security. To achieve ISO certification the auditors examine the following key controls relating to the physical security of the location: The security of the physical perimeter including entry doors and gates, reception areas and physical barriers Controls managing physical access to the area to ensure that only authorised personnel gain access The physical security of any rooms or office areas, including the ability to gain unauthorised access Physical protection against damage from fire, flood, earthquake and other forms of natural or man-made disaster The presence of guidelines for working in secure areas Physical controls relating to access points such as delivery and loading areas to ensure that they are isolated from authorised facilities/areas Controls to ensure that equipment is properly sited and protected from unauthorised access Controls protecting equipment from power failures and other disruptions Physical protection of power and telecommunications cables Equipment maintenance Secure transport, disposal and re-use of equipment Controls managing the removal of property from the site The Optus ISO72001 certification is being rolled out to all Optus EXPAN NEXTDC Data Centres, as certified by SAI GLOBAL. The Optus data centre equipment relocation service offers an integrated solution to make this task easier when relocating into an Optus EXPAN Data Centre facility. Together with our partner ITFM, a specialist in IT equipment relocation, Optus helps to provide a complete service to safely and confidently move out of your old data centre and into your new data centre. Secure Server Transportation Units (SSTU) SSTU s are purpose built, flotation racks on wheels. The unique flotation design emulates the air ride system, absorbing the shocks and vibrations that could damage your equipment. When your devices are transported they are kept with and mounted on their rail kits or shelving throughout the transportation process. Relocating your servers Experienced server technicians look after your data centre equipment throughout the entire relocation journey. Beginning with server disconnection services followed by packaging of your equipment in SSTUs, your equipment is packed, transported, re-racked and connected into the Optus EXPAN Data Centre. And for your peace of mind all servers are fully insured in transit.
