Statehouse Convention Center is located in the heart of downtown between the Clinton Presidential Center and historic Robinson Center Music Hall, at the gateway of the River Market entertainment district. It is immediately adjacent to the Peabody Little Rock Hotel, the Center s catering and concession partner. The Statehouse Convention Center offers over 200,000 gross square feet. The four Governor s Exhibition Halls have more than 82,000 square feet and are divisible by movable air walls. The Center also offers eleven versatile meeting rooms and an 18,000 square foot ballroom that can be subdivided into three separate rooms. Most pre-function space for the ballroom has attractive views of the Arkansas River through the liberal use of a glass atrium. 4 The Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau is a publicly funded organization. It serves as the primary source for Little Rock meeting and tourism information. They are responsible for the day-to-day operations of the full-service convention bureau, the Statehouse Convention Center, the Robinson Center, the Robinson Center Music Hall, 4 full-service visitor information centers, 2 parking decks, 1 parking garage, 2 surface lots, River Market Indoor Food court and event space, Riverfest Amphitheater, and a Retail Shop. The funding comes from a hotel and restaurant tax and the State of Arkansas. The CVB is governed by a 7-member commission, and they serve a four-year term. For additional information about the Little Rock area and Convention & Visitors Bureau please visit their official website at SUMMARY OF POSITION The Communications Coordinator is responsible providing marketing and communication support in three (3) critical areas: destination fulfillment, website management and social media, and also supervision of Little Rock Convention & Visitor s Bureau (LRCVB) managed Visitor Information Centers. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for compiling, evaluating and directing continuous content management for multiple websites and utilizing tracking data to best position key site segments, and selecting appropriate methods and styles to best communicate information and ideas for increased traffic and strategic development. Assists the Communications Manager and Vice President of Marketing and Communications with additional communication needs, as needed. Conducts research to compiles information to maintain the calendar of events, hot deals and packages, dining, and other sections of the Little Rock Convention & Visitor s Bureau s (LRCVB) website. Compiles, evaluates and directs social media initiatives, such as Facebook, Twitter and others, for the Little Rock Convention & Visitor s Bureau (LRCVB); updates as needed regarding various events, city activities, attractions, convention groups and other newsworthy topics. Supervises and oversees the daily activities of the Little Rock Visitor Information Center at the Little Rock National Airport, including scheduling and reviewing all employees. Interacts in a positive and responsive manner with clients, attendees of events, seminar speakers, and the general public. 4

5 Education and/or Experience These knowledge, skills, and abilities are usually, although not always, acquired through the completion of a Bachelor s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or a related area; two (2) years experience in advertising, public relations agency or related area; and one (1) year supervisory experience.
