4 Rules Art.1 - The competition is open to pianists of all nationalities with NO age limit; however candidates who have already received a prize from the CRR (or equivalent) are not eligible to compete in the 1 st level. The candidates who have received a prize from the CNSM (or equivalent) cannot compete in the 1 st and 2 nd levels. Art.2 - All competition performances will be open to the public, in the form of a concert (festival) rather than a competition. The public is invited to attend on a space available basis. Art.3 - Candidates may present their own compositions. Art.4 - Candidates are allowed to play innovative works from the end of the 19 th century. Art.5 - Candidates are allowed to go beyond the time limit if the works are long. Art.6 - The final results as well as the awards ceremony will take place after the GALA CONCERT. Art.7 - Candidates must provide the jury with an original of each piece of music or a copy for unpublished and unprotected works or an authorized and signed copy for protected works for use in competition purposes. Photocopies of published or protected works are strictly FORBIDDEN. Art.8 - The jury will be composed of competent people from the music world (internationally renowned pianists, composers, professors) whose decisions shall be final. Art.9 - A candidate can only enter one level, however, he/she may present two different programs in the same level, in which case the candidate must make two separate applications (the registration fee will have to be paid twice and the application fee once). Art.10 - Performing from memory is not mandatory, but preferable. Art.11 - The order of performance will be determined by the drawing of lots and the schedule will be communicated two weeks prior to the competition. No changes on schedule will be allowed. Art.12 - Works for prepared piano or with sound track cannot be presented for technical reasons. Art.13 - The jury reserves the right not to award all prizes or to share the prizes in the event of a tie. A candidates may be awarded several different prizes. Art.14 - Other prizes or awards may be created depending on the significance of the works presented. Art.15 - The C.F.R.P.M. reserves the right to take photographs, to film and to record the competition and final concert strictly for internal use. No publication or online publication of these photos or recordings will be done without the candidate's consent. However, the C.F.R.P.M. has the right to publish the photos taken at the final concert.

5 Inscriptions - Candidates will be preselected by a pre-inscription dossier depending on the significance of their program. It is highly recommended that candidates provide a brief presentation of their chosen program and an explanation for the choice of their program. The pre-inscription must include a check or bank transfer of 10 for the application fee and must be sent by post. - Accepted applications must pay the registration fee of 30 for the 1 st level, 40 for the 2 nd level and 50 for the 3 rd level. The payment must be made by check or bank transfer at the time of registration and will not be refunded under any circumstances. The possibility of paying in cash will be granted only in exceptional cases. - The candidates must provide the length of the works presented as well as their date of composition, the origin of composer, and the publisher (where applicable). - The deadline for registration is March 1 st The application must include the following : - Completed application form. - A black and white photograph of the candidate with his/her name written on the back. - A passport photocopy. - A Curriculum vitae (one page) pointing mainly to the repertoire played. - (optional) On a separate piece of paper, a presentation of the program. - Two checks made out to C.F.R.P.M. (The 10 application fee + registration fee ( 30, 40, 50 depending on the category) which will only be cashed in the application is accepted). If it is not possible to send a check, a bank transfer of 10 must be sent for the application fee.
