1 ongo Job Title: Digital Inclusion Officer Department: Projects (Org Dev) Team: Digital Services Team Grade: 6 Overall Purpose of Job You will work with the Digital Services project team in establishing and supporting a network of volunteer digital champions, increasing digital participation across the North Lincolnshire community and co-ordinating and managing a range of digital inclusion activities in line as defined by the Choose Digital Project. This is a temporary post for 12 months. Main Responsibilities Advise and provide reports to the Digital Project Manager on all matters relating to Digital Inclusion, identifying recurring themes and taking appropriate action. Support tenants to access the internet and digital technologies, working with Resident Panels and associated groups, and signposting opportunities for further assistance. Effectively engage with individuals, groups and partner organisations to break down barriers to digital and social exclusion. Develop a programme of training and awareness raising workshops to improve tenants digital skills and confidence supported by the recruitment and support of volunteer digital champions. Seek feedback from tenants and volunteers to implement improvements in the delivery of digital inclusion activities, where required. Work closely with the PR & Communications team to create and lead on campaigns to raise awareness of the benefits of being online. Support the wider digital agenda and participate in events and professional groups that offer the potential for shared learning, benchmarking and best practice. Work with other registered housing providers and local agencies to develop joint digital inclusion projects and schemes. Be proactive in research and self learning to develop and a level of digital expertise to support and advise the wider business. Represent ongo externally with regard to digital inclusion and attend related forums and groups.

2 To develop digital publications to communicate with tenants and the wider community and promote ongo's activities. Evaluate the impact of digital inclusion projects and policy and disseminate this information internally. To keep up-to-date with policy and practice in relation to the digital agenda. Present information clearly and concisely to internal staff as appropriate. Respond proactively to referrals from staff and other agencies, ensuring early personal contact with the resident to identify advice, training and support needs. Identify suitable funding opportunities and assist with the submission of bids to support digital inclusion projects e.g. digital literacy. Take responsibility for aspects of health & safety related to project activity including carrying out Risk Assessments where required. Work closely with the Welfare Reform working group to ensure digital activities complement business priorities e.g. Universal Credit Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required Excellent verbal and written communication skills Confidence and skill in making the most of current social media and other digital tools. Some technical knowledge about options for the installation of Wi-Fi networks. Be engaging in order to develop relationships with the public, internal teams and outside agencies. A confident outgoing person with the ability to work with individuals from varying backgrounds. Ability to work on own initiative and to tight deadlines, book venues and arrange events. Creativity and Innovation Production of written material to be read by a wide ranging audience. Monitor and evaluate the knowledge and skills of volunteers. Able to communicate difficult decisions in a caring and consistent way. Ability to empathise with tenants and to offer support and guidance in a constructive manner. Ability to adapt presentation styles to target difficult audiences. Develop and deliver training programmes to meet the needs of individual learning. 3 Decide on the location and suitability of digital drop ins, to meet user need and based on market research. Able to make decisions to ensure members of the public attending workshops are doing so in a safe, accessible learning environment. Able to make timely and effective decisions to support the digital drop in sessions and their development. Day to day prioritisation of own workload. Decisions on actions to be taken in relation to the needs of each digital taster session. Able to decide on suitability of digital champions for each of the taster sessions. Able to launch and prioritise new taster sessions in areas that require digital adoption or support getting online. Able to identify and make contact with potential digital inclusion partner agencies to share resources and innovations. Decision Making Consequences Decisions taken will directly impact on: Quality of learning Health and safety of members of the public attending workshop sessions Delivery of agreed action plans Delivery of Digital Inclusion Strategy Longer term impact of investment into Digital Inclusion Ability to attract external funding and partnerships Contacts and Relationships You will come into contact with tenants and members of the public of North Lincolnshire several times each week. You will have sole responsibility for running workshops with members of the public, in group and one to one situations. Some events may be held over the course of one day. Contact will range from tutoring and coaching, to answering questions. The backgrounds and age ranges of the people you are supporting will be varied. You will come into contact with other agencies supporting the digital agenda, including other training suppliers, public and private sector agencies. You will have contact with other departments within the organisation in particular PR & Communications, ICT and Resident Involvement Responsibility for Resources

4 Responsibility for sensitive data within the applications that they use and transportation of mobile devices to events and sessions. Work Environment Work Demands Ability to meet priorities and any objectives set by the Digital Project Manager You will be required to meet targets set to you on a monthly basis by the Digital Project Manager. You will be required to attend regular events and meet deadlines for funding applications, workshop planning and performance reporting. Physical Demands Normal physical demands associated with an office environment Maybe some requirement for setting up rooms, ie moving chairs and tables Working Conditions The post will be office based but also requires the ability to travel to various events and sessions the post holder will be supporting. You may be required to occasionally attend digital events, meetings or conferences relevant to the post which may be situated outside of North Lincolnshire. Work Context Very small but some risk of abuse and aggression when attending drop in sessions, or visiting our Customer Service Centre.
