3 LEARNING & PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES This live activity is designed for allergists, pulmonologists, primary care and family practice physicians, otolaryngologists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and any associates who participate in the care of patients with allergic and immunologic illnesses. The intended result of this activity is to increase knowledge, competence and performance in the management of allergic diseases including urticaria, asthma, allergic rhinitis, contact dermatitis, sinusitis and immunodeficiencies. At the conclusion of this seminar attendees will be able to: List common causes of contact dermatitis. Utilize more effective approaches to teaching patients how to use asthma inhalers. Explain how environmental evaluations may aid in managing allergic airways diseases. Identify ways to prevent food allergy in children. Understand the role of antibiotics in asthma exacerbations in children. List emerging biological therapies for the treatment of asthma. Identify newly described primary immunodeficiency diseases and how their diagnosis may aid in treatment. Priortize treatment approaches for asthmatics based on their asthma endotype. Describe the role of provocation challenge and exercise challenge in the evaluation of asthma.
