6 Our people Diverse and talented people The General Inspection is a team of approximately 130 inspectors graduated from higher educational institutions and recruited through a highly selective process A young, mixed and dynamic team With various nationalities and experiences 6
7 What do we do? The General Inspection being open-minded and practical A broad range of missions Auditing, consulting, reorganisations, due diligences Regular meetings with senior management and specialists Analyse various types of banking activities Apprehend the key points of the activities examined Propose added-value recommendations for the top management Convince the top management when presenting your opinions... in France and in 81 other countries! A need for intellectual and geographical mobility => In terms of interpersonal skills : curiosity/open-mindedness, enthusiasm and an ability to adapt 7
8 What do we do? To assess an entity/activity, we look at the development strategy commercial strategy, competition investment choices, profitability the degree of risk control credit risks, market risks, operational risks, compliance-related risks, etc. the Organization, Human Resources and IT efficiency of the processes, of the staff and the managers and the administrative and accounting management quality audit of procedures, respect for regulatory standards => In terms of interpersonal skills : a great capacity of analysis and synthesis, a natural sense of accuracy and thoroughness and an appetite for responsibility 8
9 More details on the programme To extend your knowledge of banking activities and techniques, but also your management skills. A programme of 6,5 years, full of experiences and responsibilities Diversity of situations, topics and people met (traditional/complex activities, managers/experts) Rapidly taking on responsibilities related to the topics dealt with and the supervision of a team (lead a mission 3 years after the entrance in the program). Obtain recognized training on banking techniques, but also build upon team management skills Get the opportunity to prepare certain key diplomas in the field (e.g. CFA) Leverage your managerial skills by benefiting from first class management courses 9

The recruitment process Recruitment of around 30 people per year, all graduates from higher educational institutions (business or engineering schools, political science institutions, universities). The main steps (January April 2011) Online application BEFORE 07/01/2011 Written exam (a synthesis and a quantitative test) 01/29/2011 An individual interview with a recruitment advisor beginning of March 2011 Oral examination (specific management case in front of a panel of Société Générale's senior executives and questions) mid March/ end of April 2011 Your integration date can be flexible If your are working, still studying etc., there is a possibility to join the team till the beginning of the following year => for example, a student graduate in Dec 2011 can join the General Inspection team beginning of 2012 (condition = to pass the 2011 General Inspection Entrance Examination). 10
