It is required that persons who are willing to interview this Meeting need to register in advance with following attachment. Attachment: G7 Science and Technology Ministers Meeting, Tsukuba Ibaraki Outline of Coverage and Registration in advance Previous briefing is held at Tsukuba Center for Institutes from 10:00 on Saturday 14th May. On this occasion, Registration ID card is going to be provided, so please bring each ID of all participants with face photo, without fail. When the proxy person comes for receiving this Registration ID, required to bring the ID with face photo (or copies) of all participants. If the person is not available to participate on 14th, please note to come directly to Tsukuba Int l Congress Center press reception by 8:30 on Sunday 15th. 4 Opportunity of Coverage Discussion between G7 Ministers of Science and Technology will be conducted with closed doors. However, registered media are allowed to cover certain events as opening of meeting, photo sessions, press conference or excursion etc. (list below). The time and venue will be informed at the Press Briefing which will be held on May 14 th. (the exact time and venue cannot be open due to security reasons until May 14th) Credential registration is required for press medias and journalists who wish to cover the certain events. 5 Journalist Registration News media and media personnel who wish to cover the G7 Science and Technology Ministers Meeting and related events held on May 15 to 17 must submit an application and obtain special ID cards for media personnel. Please register by e mail including the necessary items below by April 28 th (Thur). Without the special ID cards, any personnel CANNOTallow to enter. Registration is required for ALL staff including camera crew, technical staff, drivers. ID cards must be worn when entering the venue during the period of the meeting. Vehicle registration will be necessary for vehicles entering the venue. Please apply for registration concurrently with press registration. 6 Press Briefing Press briefing will be held at Tsukuba Center for Institutes from 10:00 AM on May 14 th (Sat.) The Registration ID card will be handed out at this briefing, therefore, please do not fail to bring your ID which includes face photo. For receiving the registration ID on behalf of colleagues, a copy of an ID including a face photo is required for all the participants. If the person is not available to participate on 14 th, please note to come directly to Tsukuba Int l Congress Center press reception by 8:30 on Sunday 15 th. 7 Media Tour There will be a tour of the Tsukuba city on May 16 th for the registered press and journalists (itinerary as below). Further information will be provided at the press briefing. For those who intend to attend this tour towards the media, please implicate this by E mail. 8 Equipment and Service Media Center Equipment The press rooms will be shared by all news media. FAX, Copy, Printer will be prepared upon shared use. Wi Fi provided. There is no phone in the Media Center. Please use your own cell phone. Vehicle Registration Please register any vehicles that will enter the venue. (around the venue) Please note the available parking area in the venue is limited. Passes for cars will be issued upon registration. Logistics Information Please cover your own transportation, meals and accomodation expense. Those who need accomodation reservations, please inform us how many people and nights to be reserved.
