Happy Valley Rd., Suite A Phone: Meet Our Director Director Matt Deller is from Glendale, Arizona and is the founding director of both the Sounds of the Southwest Singers and the Chorale. As a Central Washington University graduate in communications and music performance, Matt thrives on pursuing his musical passion, recognizing there is a lot of local talent who need a venue to musically express themselves. Mr. Deller has worked with many universally known musicians and conductors to perfect his craft. He has been a guest conductor for both choral and orchestral groups and mentored others on numerous occasions. In 2010 Matt made his international conducting debut in the American Church in Berlin, Germany. During the 2012 Arizona Musicfest he had the pleasure of guest conducting the orchestra in the Overture to Carmen. In 2013 he had the honor of conducting on board the USS Missouri, at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii and in 2014 was given the esteemed opportunity to conduct the Continuo Arts Festival Chorus during High Mass at St. Peter s Basilica in Vatican City. Maestro Deller has conducted his Chorale and the Southwestern College Concert Choir in performances of the Mark Hayes Requiem. Matt has taken his groups to Germany, Austria, Disneyland, California Adventures, Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Hawaii, England, and France. He plans to take both choirs to Washington D.C. in Locally Matt has conducted his choirs in many venues and multiple times at professional sporting events. In his spare time he participates in mentoring conducting workshop programs from around the country, and is a percussionist with the North Valley Symphony. Through his own deep passion for music, both choirs in turn bring their own style of appreciation to their performances under his direction. The choir performs a wide variety of music with concerts year round throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area. Members of the choir have performed at New York s Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, toured Germany, Austria, Hawaii, in Disneyland, California Adventures, performed at the Vatican and in Italy, England, and France. Future plans include a 2017 trip to Washington D.C. We have also sung for many local civic and veteran groups, including multiple professional sporting events. In 2015 we sang back-up during Barry Manilow s local stop of his final tour, One Last Time. The membership of the Singers group boasts of over 100 members and requires no fee or audition to belong. The Sounds of the Southwest Chorale is our newest choir, founded in It offers a more traditional classical flavor of music with some added contemporary flare as a choral option within the communities we serve. The chorale is open through an audition process with a nominal honorarium to join. Remaining smaller, the chorale will have a maximum of 40 participants.
